Leg day! Read below!👇🏼 - Whenever you are working your leg muscles, whether it be calves, glutes, hamstrings or quads, trying lowering the weight and getting good quality, solid reps. A lot of people when training legs like to load up the bar with crazy weights and end up doing half squats and quarter reps. You’re better off lowering the weight, doing higher reps, and squeezing and feeling out that mind muscle connection with your legs. Solid reps and proper form will go a long way, all it takes is putting your ego aside and lowering the weight. #gymshark66 Day 9 (aka day 15): Today was pretty good. Nothing bad really. I did my back workout a few hours ago. Here’s a snapshot of my progress in pounds and reps so far. I think I’m progressing pretty well and for the most part I engaged my muscles properly. status/post HIIT (if you don’t believe me, look closer at my sweaty armpit 🤣 also the fact that my stomach is actually flat for once...tbh I was flexing/sucking in too BUT, I DIGRESS...) I keep HIIT pretty simple. Also, no I do not like HIIT. But I definitely do like what it does for my metabolism. As for what to do for HIIT, I guess I could incorporate burpees here and there and other fancy moves, but I really don’t think that’s necessary. As long as you’re getting your HR up to about 70-90% of your max HR in intervals, you’re performing it correctly. • 1.) hop on a treadmill 2.) go all out for 30 seconds (my top speed before I face plant is about 7 mph lol) 3.) cool down for 1:30 (HR should be in the neighborhood of 60-65% max HR here) 4.) repeat multiple times (I do 5 or 6)........ • You’ll know you’re doing it correctly when you’re utterly and completely out of breath. That is how you should be feeling. That doesn’t mean you have to start at a crazy high speed if sprinting isn’t something you’re used to. Work your way up! And of course, if you start to feel dizzy or unwell (I know I definitely did the first few times I tried it a couple years back!) don’t beat yourself up, and simply take a long breather. BOSU Ball Push-Ups!! Keep your core TIGHT! (Helps with core, obviously and balance) 10/10 good workout for athletes!

So I absolutely love doing these assisted pull ups! I can really feel the progress, especially as I used to use the assisted machine on such a high weight as I really struggled.
