OVERHAND BARBELL ROWS _ Here we have long term client and friend @pbham58 performing an overhand barbell row. He’s come on leaps and bounds since we first started training and is really knuckling down starting a lean gaining phase 💪🏻💪🏻 _________________________ 1. Place your hands in a mid position on the bar (not too wide and not too close) when you pull the bar towards you your wrists and elbows should stay in line. 2. Pull through with your elbows keeping your back straight, chest up and head neutral 3. Airport standby began at 5:50am for 6 hours... Gym was the last place I wanted to be but after the laziest weekend, I had to! Start the week right and all that...but got there and had ZERO energy so decided to do a yoga inspired stretch class🧘🏽‍♀️I actually got a sweat on💦 Core was fully engaged and the stretch was real!!!😩 Do I go back later and do my planned upper body sesh or save myself for tomorrow? 🤷🏽‍♀️💕 . . NOT PROGRESSING?? You don't have too achieve more reps for you to achive progression. Some workouts are harder than others as many variables apply to strength training. Just a specific weight feeling easier and moving fast is progression!

Oh man this killed my upper body and “muffin top” area... I was actually feeling pretty unmotivated today to do my typical bodybuilding style upper body workout so I did some stuff I made up senior of college. I usually would’ve used the cable machine for this, but I decided to do the resistance bands instead . 1️⃣ 10 each leg of push up into opposite knee to elbow 👆🏻only did that for one round, and then went into the below exercise, taking the push up out (bc I’m weak🤓) . 1️⃣15 each leg of opposite knee to elbow plank 👆🏻Repeat 5x . 1️⃣ 15 side plank with bicep curl (each side) 2️⃣ 15 side plank tricep extension (each side) 3️⃣ 15 elbow plank with lat pull down (each side) 👆🏻Repeat 3x . Then I just incline walked on the treadmill for 30 min! Seems like such a short workout, but my muscles are shaking due to switching up my typical movements 😁 . . Look, I get it - the last thing you need to see is ANOTHER fitness photo with a long ass caption but tbh, i could careless. I want to continue to show young girls, mums, older women, younger teenagers, boys - WHOEVER IT IS, that they too can make changes in their life. I know how it feels to be insecure about your body and not feel confident. Even to this day I’m still low key scared to just wear this type of outfit to the gym because I’m not the fittest and I don’t feel 100% comfortable doing it - it’s just not me (unless I’m doing a video or PHOTOSHOOT) ..so I don’t. However, every time I go to the gym - I definitely do push myself to do something that is out of my comfort zone because having confidence gives you posture and you should be in the gym worrying about getting the gains and nothing else. GURL, This was literally when I first started training back in 2012 after I killed myself doing 60minutes of cardio everyday. I know it ain’t a #throwbackthursday but, LEMME DO ME OK 😂 No joke, I was sooooo insecure about my body at this time and just wanted a flat stomach with #girlsgeneration /SNSD legs. I still remember this deadlift moment, people laughed and made fun of me. I couldn’t even lift 2.5kg on each side of the bar. Which is why I made a promise to myself that day that I would prove people wrong and be the bigger person. My max last year was 95kg but I haven’t gone back o train my deadlifts since. It was a big deal to me because I really believed in my head that it wasn’t possible for me to even lift that heavy with my circumstance but NEVER LET YOR CIRCUMSTANCE DEFINE YOU. NOT feeling the greatest today because 🚩🚩🚩... season - HAHAH all my girls hopefully know what I be talking about. But anyway, I'm gonna try my best to be productive and rest well while doing so. It's so important to take care of your health not only during this time but every other time too. & Can I just say...don't be afraid to have a little bit of chocolate here and there because honestly it's okay to indulge.
