This week let's look at one that I admit I'm the worst at: loving your neighbor. Whether you believe the Bible to be true or not, this underlined verse is good practice for a joyful life. When I reference neighbor in this post I'm referring to your literal neighbor, your roommate, your coworker and peers. Often times these are the people that frustrate you the most. They play their music too loud, they won't do their dishes or clean up after themselves, or they just plain and simple irritate you. I know this is what I'm worst at: getting annoyed with loud neighbors that I perceive as completely inconsiderate or roommates who don't share their weight in cleaning and maintaining the house. It's easy to get mad and irritated and talk about them behind their backs. But have you considered talking to them? I don't mean yelling or pulling passing aggressive moves, but talking. Ask them if they can share the load or casually suggest if they could take out the trash as they are leaving, rather than expecting them to do it automatically. We were all raised in different environments with different adults as teachers. Just because you were raised a certain way with certain expectations doesn't mean they were. Maybe they don't even realize how loud or dirty they are. There are so many factors that go into why someone does what they do and deducing it to they don't care is blinding. So whether it's your neighbor, roommate, peer or coworker that is erking you right now, show them some grace and just talk to them about it. You never know what could come of it.

I’m trying @realhomechef for a couple of weeks. My first meal prep service bc while maybe more targeted, many of the others don’t have great menu options. I’m trying to save $ on groceries and lunch costs, improve my cooking skills, keep my calories close to 500-650 per meal, eat more veggies, and decrease my time prepping/planning/cooking. Don’t expect to reach your goals if you don’t do the following 4 things: 📝 1. WRITE IT DOWN 1️⃣ Writing your goal down is the first step to make it real. If you haven’t done that, it doesn’t really exist. 💺 And don’t just write it down, write it down and leave it in a place where you’ll see it on a regular basis. ✅ 2. CREATE ACTION PLAN 🐌 Your goal should be more than just wishful thinking. What will you do to go about accomplishing it? Often, these action plans make better goals than the original goal. ❓ In other words, you might want to lose weight, but maybe you’ll start getting there by prioritizing protein and veggies at every meal. If so, come up with a specific, measurable action plan for what that means to you. 🗣 3. SHARE IT 👫 Don’t keep it to yourself. 👫 Let someone else know what you’re doing. Preferably someone who will be supportive of the change you’re trying to make. But don’t stop there… 📈 4. REPORT PROGRESS 📲 That same person who you shared your goal with… come up with a plan for how to report progress to them. 💻 You could text them after every workout. I'm too poorly to work out right now so this photo is from last week. Belly fat is so hard to shift but finally, I'm starting to really get lean around the middle and there is a tiny hint at what lies underneath. Since shifting my focus from weight loss to muscle gain I've had to make changes to my diet- namely increasing my calories and eating more protein. Doing this, but not gaining fat, is a delicate balance and I'm always learning but slowly, slowly, I'm making progress. My body is responding quickly and I'm feeling strong and healthy- well, I was till this stupid virus struck me down! My first sickness since early October though, so I can't complain. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit SKEPTICAL of this program when I started. . . Even though I jumped right in, I soon after started to question it. I had HEARD good AND bad things about network marketing companies and when I did a little research I found people saying things like “it’s a scam” and “it’s a pyramid scheme.” It scared me and I hesitated. But I ALSO found a lot of POSITIVE things.✨ . . But what I SAW were A LOT of lives that had been CHANGED from this company. I saw A LOT of people who had been dealing with all kinds of different things and because of this program, their lives, their mindsets, their happiness, their confidence were better and I thought WHY NOT ME? 🤷‍♀️ . . This program is not EASY, but nowhere does it say it’s SUPPOSED TO BE. Change isn’t supposed to be EASY because it does require HARD WORK and EFFORT if you actually want to see RESULTS 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ . . When I changed my thinking to “why not me” I started to believe in myself a bit MORE. I started to work HARDER and that’s when I saw the changes START to happen. . . Here’s an easy lunch idea for your Tuesday afternoon 😊 Why not try a grilled Turkish bread sandwich with steak and all things delicious? I can guarantee on my mother’s life you won’t regret it 😏 INGREDIENTS 💕 - 1 Turkish bread roll - 1/2 a red onion, cut and diced - 2 slices of tomato - 1/3 cup of sliced lettuce - 1 sizzle steak - 2 tsp of oil - 2 tbsp of tzatziki - Crumble of feta METHOD ⭐️ 1. Turn your oven on grill mode and cut the Turkish bread in half. Place slices of bread in the oven and keep the door slightly ajar. Monitor carefully and flip after 3 minutes. 2. In a fry pan, caramelise the onion on a medium heat with 1 tsp of oil. Onion should be flipped/turned regularly for about 5 minutes (or until sweet smelling). 3. Cook your sizzle steaks for approx 1 minute on both sides, using the remaining oil. 4. Assemble your roll with Turkish bread, tzatziki, onion, sizzle steak, tomato, lettuce and feta.
