However, still find the time at every other meal to eat home cooked, whole foods - as trust me, this will make the biggest difference to how you feel when you enter the new year. ✨✨ Simply preparing food yourself saves so many calories, preservatives, extra sugar and salt and you’ll feel so much better for finding the balance and not saying “screw it its holidays I’m going to buy every meal out and eat whatever I want”. Whilst it’s great to indulge a little, none of us want to go overboard and ruin our healthy efforts from the year. Of course things don’t go to plan, and I’m all for having some extra drinks, meals out and a feast on Christmas Day, I just think it’s so worth it to stay on track on the days or meal times where you can make the choice 😊🎄💕 Simple! Here’s the cauliflower pizza I made the other day with @madison.morrison! I love being in the kitchen, but it is so much more fun when you have your best friend right at your side. I have to give Madi all the credit for aesthetics! This pizza was so pretty thanks to her. We used @traderjoes cauliflower pizza crust (highly recommend), red sauce, mozzarella, tomato, fresh arugula, and basil. TIP: don’t but the arugula or basil on till the end. The next time you are in the mood to make something, invite your friend over! It’s so fun and it’s just a little extra time you get to spend together❤️

i had the most incredible day with @the_shelf_life. everyone know that she is one of my BEST FRIENDS and honestly one of the best human beings on the planet hands down. not only does she eat at the same pace as me (which is a MAJOR plus) but she is so incredibly insightful and has been there for me during my darkest and lightest times. i could not be more grateful for a better friend. I was so lucky to have her as my company today as we went to @little_choc for breakfast and got a scone, a savory, and a sweet crepe as well as newtella mochas 😍 then we went theifting in Brooklyn (if you haven’t done it you gotta try it) and got sort of matching-ish jackets 😂 then we bought books at strand and ate lunch (dinner? dunch? we had no idea because it was SO LATE LMAO) at @beyondsushinyc which has INCREDINLE food. this was their nutty butty rice paper wrap 🤤 HIGHLY recommend this place!!! overall, had such a good day today I’m sad it ended but I know that there will be just as good days on the future!!! If there is one thing that the past few weeks have taught me is to be thankful for the amazing people you have around you!! 💕💕 LOVE YOU EMMA!!

I love sheet pan dinners!! This is one of our favorite go-to meals. It’s super quick and super easy! 2 small sweet potatoes 2 bell peppers 2 zucchini 1 red onion 1 smoked sausage (use any flavor you like!) Drizzle with olive oil Season to taste with whatever flavors you like! For this I used dried parsley, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Pop it in the oven at 400* for about 20 minutes and serve over rice! If you’re looking for a healthy alternative to mashed potatoes, try this! . Loaded Cauliflower Bake (makes 3 servings) . Ingredients: 3 cups cauliflower florets 4 ounces face plain Greek yogurt 1 cup 2 percent grated sharp cheddar cheese 2 slices cooked turkey bacon 2 tablespoons sniped chives 3 tablespoons butter 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper . Cook the bacon in a skillet until crisp; set aside on a paper towel then crumble. . Fill a large pot with water, bring to a boil and add cauliflower and garlic. Boil until the cauliflower is soft, about 15-20 minutes. Drain, and return to pot. . Preheat the oven to 350F . Add the yogurt, butter, salt and pepper to the cauliflower puree with a hand blender. If you don’t own a hand blender, a regular blender would work fine as well. . Mix in 1 tbsp of the chives and transfer to 4 individual casseroles (3/4 cups each) or one 8x8 casserole dish & top with cheddar and crumbled bacon. . Bake in the oven until the cheese melts, about 5 minutes, then top with remaining chives.

Tonight's culinary delight is a perfect light way to start off your week. Monkfish has a mild, slightly sweet taste. The tail meat, the only part of the fish that is used, is firm, dense and boneless. It doesn’t flake readily and is firm like scallop or lobster. It is often described as the "poor man's lobster because of its buttery taste and firm texture. Tonight's dish was pan seared Monkfish served with baby broccoli, shitake mushrooms, asparagus and a bell pepper medley topped with a saffron infused bone broth. This paired amazingly with the 2016 Etude Lyric Pinot Noir with it's light body and bright acidity bursting with raspberries, cherries and a nice clean crisp finish. Mushroom Chicken- 2 tablespoons avocado oil 2 large organic and free-range boneless skinless chicken breasts Garlic, salt, pepper to taste 1/2 yellow onion diced 2 cups sliced mushrooms Sprinkle paprika 1 cup coconut cream (find at whole foods) 1 cup water with 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 big handfuls of fresh baby spinach, roughly chopped 3/4 cup fresh grated parmigiano reggiano cheese Add oil to skillet, heat on medium. Pound out chicken breasts and seasoned with garlic, salt and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown crust forms. Set aside. In same pan, cook onions, mushrooms paprika until onions are translucent. Add coconut cream and water with cornstarch. Let simmer for about 1 minute. Add spinach and cheese. Stir to incorporate. Turn heat down to low. Add chicken to the top, cover and let cook for 5 more minutes. Serve: Cut beasts in half, place on plate and ladle sauce over the top. So here’s what i got! To lighten up a traditional pasta dish and up my veggie intake, I swapped spaghetti for spaghetti squash! I know everyone is all about the zoodles, but I prefer spaghetti squash. I made a sauce out of lemon, olive oil, crushed red pepper, and garlic and sautéed some shrimpies. Now this is my idea of a detox! Eating real food and definitely no juicing. .
