ANTI-INFLAMMATORY CAULIFLOWER SOUP⁠⠀ (with a side of my delicious, gluten free, sprouted Buckwheat Bread!)⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ 🥣 Soups are often how I make it through the week. Components of a good Vata season broth 🌬⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ FAT 🍜 I like to use highly quality olive oil, or ghee. ⠀ ⁠⠀ VEG 🍜 Hearty vegetables like celery, carrots, and onion work great and are popular simmering vegetables for broths, but you can really use whatever veg you have on hand.⠀ ⁠⠀ HERBS + SPICES 🍜 Be playful with herbs and spices! They aid in digestion and deepen the nutrient profile of your broth. Some broth classics include bay leaf, peppercorns, fresh parsley, and fresh thyme.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ CITRUS 🍜 Citrus adds flavor and vibrancy to your broth. I use the juice of lemons and limes generously.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ GINGER + GARLIC 🍜 Peeled cubes of ginger and peeled and smashed cloves of garlic enhance flavor and allow your soup to naturally support your body's immune system.⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ SALT 🍜 Himalayan pink salt is the way to go. Be generous in your addition (salt is not something to fear, but rather a marvel ingredient that supports electrolyte balance among other wonders).⁠⠀ ⁠⠀ H20 🍜 You don't necessarily need store-bought broths to get your own going. We often want quick answers, quick results, instant rewards, and that’s normal in our high tech, instant, Google driven world. To take that first step towards reaching a goal or realizing a dream, knowing that there will perhaps be a thousand more steps to follow in order to make it happen, can be daunting. It’s simple and yet complicated. The simple part of achieving success is that it just takes work. For me, staying focused on my goals and envisioning my dreams every day, makes the work flow almost on its own. The hard part is the mindset, and to not self sabotage, because you don’t believe in yourself. We often think we can’t achieve our wildest dreams or that we are somehow incapable, and then we never, ever take that first step. I never felt that I was a very confident person, but with the support of some wonderful people and my own inner fire, I kept going. The hardest part after working and working, was to actually accept that I deserved success. Success in itself is kind of scary too, as it comes with having to be responsible, and not flake out. The people who have supported you and invested in you deserve that. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you want something, you have to take action. A little step towards it every day. When you literally feel like you’re hanging on by a thread. ✂️ Trying to conceive isn’t what movies & TV make it out to be. It’s a whirlwind of emotions and typically it isn’t very sexy. I haven’t been very active on social media because at the beginning of this month I had a second miscarriage. I’m tearing up just typing that. I’ve had a harder time processing this one. I honestly didn’t think I’d be going through this a second time. I didn’t think getting pregnant at 30 would be this difficult. I didn’t think getting pregnant period would be hard! I guess I just want one other mama -hopeful-woman to know you’re not alone. I’m here if you need to talk. I can vouch grieving is harder when you keep it in. After going through all this, I seriously can’t wait till I’m one of those girls posting an ultrasound pic. 🙏🏻 PS yes I have seen a doctor and we’re currently running tests.

Vaping is all the rage, but how dangerous is it really?

Another hearty, dreamy dish packed with plant based protein 🌱 We have a case of it “taste better than it looks” but try out the recipe, I promise it won’t disappoint. —— Lentil Shepard’s Pie 🌱 POTATO deets • 3 russet potatoes or 7 c of Yukon potatoes (cut in half) • 4 tablespoon ghee or plant based butter • s&p to taste — 1. Boil potatoes until soft (30 mins) 2. Drain. Peel and use fork, pastry cutter or masher to mash until smooth. 3. Add butter & s&p. Set aside. — 🌱 LENTIL deets • 1 1/2 c green lentils (uncooked) • 4 c vegetable stock • 1 c mixed vegetables (frozen) • 1 c diced mushrooms (baby bellas) • 1 onion (diced) • 4 cloves garlic (minced) • 2 sprigs of thyme (more to garnish) • 2 tablespoon oil • s&p to taste —— 1. Heat oil in pot, cook onions & garlic until fragrant. 2. Add mushrooms, lentils, stock & thyme. 3. Cook covered on low for 40 mins or until lentils are soft. 4. Preheat oven to 400. Add mixed vegetables into pot & let cook for 5 mins (if you find it too mushy & want to make it thicker, add 1 -2 tablespoons of cornstarch). 5. S&P to taste. Oil a 2 quart baking dish & add lentil mix evenly. Add potatoes evenly on top of lentils. Bake for 15 mins or until potatoes are golden brown. I bet you can’t just have one serving- they are so satisfying! That would feel pretty good, wouldn’t it?😃 I am always honest with you because you are my online family, so here is the story behind the 💭 thought I am considered “heavy” for my height and I think my BMI says I am overweight lol Let’s not get started with the BMI conversation because I don’t think it is a good measurement! There are SO many variables that affect your weight BUT here is the think… I feel STRONG, my hormonal health is beautiful, I have a good body fat/muscle mass ratio, I don’t suffer from any health issues (Thankful for this) and I have ton of enery and FEEL FREAKING GREAT So let me ask you this… does that number truly matter? F* NO! I love using essential oil aromatherapy as a holistic way to bless my mind, body, spirit, and home. I have many favorites, and one of them is Frankincense 💕. It’s definitely a go to for me! It’s safe for multiple uses and is great for the immune system. I love to put a few drops in my oil diffuser at night to help me sleep. I also apply a few drops with a carrier oil to my pulse points during meditation or deep conversations with my coaching clients. 🧘🏽‍♂️ Frankincense also helps to: .Enhance immune system . I’ve been feeling very down lately so I’m going to talk about it.. more body pics coming soon lol. I have been going through a lot of transition lately and it’s been very hard for me to deal with mentally, physically & emotionally. I have identified with being sick my entire life and now that I started to feel a bit better I’m overcome with feelings of being lost & lonely. My physical body has also been in immense pain all over leaving me feeling uncomfortable almost all the time. I’ve done more suffering in this lifetime than anyone could imagine and try so hard to be positive/ optimistic but sometimes it just gets the best of me. So here I am being honest; I don’t remember the last time I was truly happy and although I feel glimmers of hope like when I’m with my dogs (shown here) it hasn’t been the same since I got really sick 2+ years ago. I am working on being better, I try all different ways to work on myself, but sometimes I just feel exhausted from trying. I don’t know if anyone can relate to these feelings but the best advice I can give is to imagine the life you want to live as if it is your life now, create a vision board and dream about your future this will (hopefully) accelerate the process of it happening. I work very hard on speaking things into existence and even though it gets hard sometimes all you can do is try and remember EVERYTHING is temporary no matter what it might seem in the moment. When you are this happy because she has sleeps #likeaboss . Okay mummas here are my tips with using essential oils with your little babes 👉🏼. ✨Use a diffuser that runs for 8-10 hours intermittently. Don’t over pour your oils in to! I use 3-4 max in our babes diffuser in their room. My kids sleep with the door closed. Plus to much oils will stimulate their senses to much. I love to use it on intermittently to as it’s not blasting all night. ✨ Create roller blends and have them ready in the bathroom or change table. That way you can roll them on while they are undressed. I like to do the spine, upper tummy and feet if they are wearing socks. Always dilute according to a oil safety chart. ✨Make up a mist. You can spray the sheets, their teddy or comfort and around the room 15minutes prior to bed time. I LOVE lavender peace or balance blend for this! ✨Use oils on yourself, they will inhale all the goodness of your body! Plus your scent calms their mind. . LIFE CHANGES ✨🌻 • I used to be afraid of change. New jobs which meant a new schedule. Letting new friends into my life and letting go of friends who I've outgrown. Even recently just simply cutting my hair seemed like a fricken life changing event. X I've learned along the way and continue to learn that change is inevitable. If you're ready for it or not. My advice is just to open your mind to it and all the possibilities. Although it may be painful, different from your norm or it's temporary, change will only better you, make you stronger and make you wiser. X I still get nervous when change comes around, the difference now is that I don't allow it to shut me down and over rule my thoughts. So instead of 1,000 what ifs i'll maybe have 300😋, i'm a work in progress OK 🙆🏼‍♀️💛 As cliche as this sounds just go with the flow. 🌊 There will be smooth sailing, there will also be some rapids along the way. Take things step by step, don't force anything but remember to also give it your all! You will get to where you a destined to be & you're in change of that. (lol get it? charge - change, because this post is about change 🏋🏼‍♀️) X What are some recent changes you've been going through?

Yes, proper nutrition is a VITAL part of being capable of managing stress, but if there has been anything I’ve learned in the 15years I’ve worked in Mental Health... it’s this. Your mental health and stress levels are greatly effected by the nutrition you consume and absorb, but it’s also greatly effected by your surroundings. I watched clients get significantly better because of their nutrition intake but never really reach the peak because they were surrounded by negativity chronically. Whether that’s family and “friend” relationships, your significant other, the television shows you watch or maybe books and magazines you may read. The reality is, you can drink as many green smoothies as you want (or take so many handfuls of supplements), live an Organic Clean lifestyle and still be stressed to the max. I am thankful for the apartment that I live in, giving me a place to sleep at night as a student. ⁣ 2. I am grateful for the support system I have back home in Saskatoon that constantly give me support to achieve my dreams while living in a different country. ⁣ 3. I am thankful for the body that I have that was capable of going to the gym at 6 a.m. ⁣ ⁣ This is a very simple exercise, but it can dramatic results and a happier you!
