Getting Back on my workouts, I miss hitting the gym regularly due to lifestyle so I decided to start again with home workouts.⠀ I started to feel the lack of resistance training affect my mental clarity and drive. My body was not dealing with stress as well as it normally would have, but i am already feeling much better.⠀ Vegan lifting is such a great experience for me, especially in comparison to my past diet.⠀ I feel I recover faster, keep the fat down and energy levels up. 3 DEADLIFT VARIATIONS USING A KETTLEBELL 🔔. Deadlifts aren’t just for the barbell and gym, they are for everyone! But, there are loads of different variations of the deadlift that can be done 😊. Straight leg, Romanian, single leg, sumo and so on...it all gets a little confusing if you don’t actually know how to do them! So, I am here to show you 3 variations using a Kettlebell. This can be done at home if you have a couple of kettlebells or at the gym (most gyms will have kettlebells) 😊. . • Straight Leg Deadlift- Feet in a narrow position, back straight and core engaged. Hold the kettlebell with two hands and lower to the floor- bring back up and squeeeze dat ass 🍑. • Double Kettlebell Deadlift- Feet about hip width apart, 2 kettlebells (same weight) and place outside of your feet. Again, back straight and core engaged and come down into a squat position to pick them up- squeeeze! Place back down and repeat. • Single Leg Deadlift- Balance is needed for this one! Kettlebell in one hand and as you come down you bring the same side leg backwards. As you can see in the video, even I am wobbly!! Again, back straight and core engaged!. . When your friends come over to play. Aged 6 it’s with cars and dolls and endless running around. Aged 26 (I’m averaging down to @aleclovelifeyoga here as it’s been a quick 6 years since I was there!) it’s with drones and yoga mats and endless podcasting! . I cannot wait to share my very own episode of the @yogarevealed podcast with you all. Ever since I came across it a year or two ago, I’ve inhaled every episode. Some people I’ve loved, others I’ve laughed with, and some have driven me nuts. But I’ve taken something away from every single episode. I only hope I can live up to that bar in my own 🤞 . I’m extraordinarily grateful that life brought the energy full human behind it that is @aleclovelifeyoga to London this year, and not because of the podcast. Never has a person got an insta handle that more accurately reflects who they are as a person than this one, and it shows in the way he lives his life, is a friend to you, and teaches his yoga classes. . Sexy shoulder day! 🤩 . So I’ve been getting a lot of messages and requests for shoulders, so here you are!💪🏻😆 . The way I did this workout was I superseted a barbell exercise with the dumbbell exercise next to it. So for example: . 🔥Shoulder Press - Lean Away Lateral Raise. Why lean away I hear you say, well if like me you find that whilst working your shoulders you feel your traps doing a lot of the work, by leaning away it takes all the pressure off and focuses on the delts. . 🔥Upright Row - Lateral Raise. . 🔥Underhand Shoulder Press - 1,1,2 Raises. . Tips: •So all three of the barbell exercises can also be performed with dumbbells if you’re not super confident with a barbell yet.😊 •All the exercises can be performed seated with the bench fully upright (seated position) apart from the Lean Away Lateral Raises for obvious reasons. Try doing them seated if you feel like you swing, your form is lacking or you’re a beginner and aren’t sure or confident yet.😊 •For the barbell exercises I’ve used a standard barbell but you can also use an EZ Bar which is great as it will allow you to naturally put your hands in position for the exercises. If you’re not sure what an EZ Bar is, it’s the really odd shaped zig zag bar. Again great if you’re a beginner and are not sure where to place your hands. . *As always please stay safe, use good form. If a weight is too heavy go get a lighter one and carry on. Happy FRIDAY! - I really wanted to push snooze this morning! But finally rolled out of bed to get going with my morning. - My big kid woke up and joined me at 6:15 when I was just getting ready to push play. - I tried to get him back to sleep, at least on the couch, but said, “I don’t want to sleep. I just want to help you workout”. 😍 - So that’s what we did! And then little man woke up right at the tail end of things. - Is it crazy some mornings... yes. You’ve seen it! This weeks challeges are more for mobility and focus than power but just as hard in a different way!! Challenge 1-3 are from @quickwod . He’s got such great strength and mobility! If you try #2 -the helicopter bridge one then squeeze your glutes and hamstrings to lift you up and make a more soft and controlled landing and don’t land with your elbow locked! The last challenge is from @massy.arias and it is a lot harder than it’s looks so hold it for a few seconds! #mawarriorchallenge •Give these a try to strengthen your core and improve your shoulder mobility. 👉I’ve got another one for you tomorrow that I can up with!! It’s going to look easy but it was so hard for me!! Watch out for it!!
