Ok ok. I promise this is my last post of the day. I got home around 9 p.m. after doing a lot of running around for tomorrow. I had absolutely no desire to work out, but because I've committed to doing this program to the fullest, I said, "it's only 20 minutes." Hahah. Only. . . . After finally getting myself up and ready, it was after 10 p.m. Who works out that late? Me, apparently. Anyway, I pushed play. I pushed myself. After coming upstairs, I wrote my Transformer numbers down for today. Can we just talk about the change? No. My numbers aren't super high. But they're slowly increasing. I'm getting better. Happy hump day, work week is half done. I hit the gym today for a great active recovery core, stretch, and cardio workout. Crushed my goals for the day and feeling great. Tried a new core workout today, L-sit leg lifts using kettlebells. They’re tough, have to work at keeping your balance and keeping the leg lifts controlled. Worked good though and will be added to the rotation. Hump Dayyyy 🐫⛰🐪🗻 A hill ladder workout for todayyy. I’m feeling strong and solid this week compared to the struggle the was last week 🤦🏻‍♀️ 1.5 mile warm-up, 30sec up, easy down, 60sec up, easy down, 90sec up, easy down (x2), 1.5 mile cool down 🎉 don’t forget - adding hills to your routes while running is the equivalent of increasing your weight/resistance in the gym! You don’t get swoll pumping 5lb dumbbells every day 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even if you hate leg day and trust me I hate it, you should never skip it. LEG DAY FAVORITES - I wanted to talk about a few of my favorites for my hammie / glute leg day that are not hip thrusts. - 1️⃣ single leg hamstring curls After I had knee surgery in high school, I really learned about the importance of being balanced. My leg muscles atrophied quite a bit while I was on crutches and regaining the strength and mass that I lost was a long process (my quads are still not even in size to this day). I like to incorporate some single leg exercises to make sure that both of my legs are equally as strong so that I don’t compensate during movements that require both legs. I have recently been loving this machine! You can also do this movement on a lying hamstring curl machine or use cables 😃 (thanks @shanaafit for the angles ❤️) - 2️⃣ RDLs This exercise was a little bit more difficult to learn, but I really like that I can get a good stretch in my hamstrings and few them working. I mix it up doing this exercise with DBs and a barbell or sometimes I do it single leg with a DB. - 3️⃣ hip abductor machine I like this machine because I feel that my mind muscle connection is on point. I vary my upper body position to work my glutes a little differently (lean forward vs sitting up against the seat). If you don’t have this machine there are cable variations that you can do. - Keep in mind, just because an exercise works for one person, doesn’t mean it is going to feel the same for everyone. We all have different body proportions that are going to make some movements feel better than others. I don't sweat for pounds, inches, or dress size. I sweat to make my outside match my inside! ⚡ __ I have been mentally affirming my mindset with positive and empowering words on the daily since the beginning of 2019. Not only has it been helpful in my work flow and daily routine, but it's been transitioning into my workouts and social media. So much that I have been receiving so much love & support through messages saying, "Key, you have such a beautiful VIBRANCY that's coming through and it's starting to become contagious! Keep it coming!"✨🙏🏻 __ Everyday, I am finally allowing for the "onion to be pulled back", so that I no longer hinder myself but instead let the power within me to come out in order to help serve others. What is one thing that you are allowing the "onion to be pulled back?" 💁🏻‍♀️ __ 🏋🏻‍♀️Workout move: Pssst! I may not love leg day but I still show up and found a move that I truly enjoy! 🍑 #forthebooty Humpday Exercise of the Day: Feet-Elevated Hip Bridge 🍑 # 🍑Happy Wednesday!! I feel like I’ve done so many glute exercises, workouts, and finishers, but there’s always more to share! That’s what I LOVE about glute training-there’s always new ways to do it! Check out today’s exercise: Feet-Elevated Hip Bridge # 🍑Grab a box or bench, starting at about 12” and working up from there 🍑Lay on your back with your feet up on your box, knees bent at about 90° 🍑Perform a bridge as usual-Push the hops up, keeping the ribs down, squeezing the glutes at the top. 🍑Start with 15 unweighted, then try adding a band around the knees, or a dumbbell resting on your hips! # 🍑Try it out and let me know how it goes! KETTLE BELL ONLY LOWER BODY BLAST 🍑✨⁣ ⁣ 1. KB Goblet Squat ⁣ 2. KB Romanian Deadlifts⁣ 3. KB Swings (Similar to a Romanian deadlift, the momentum from your swing comes from your hips. You should feel these in your glutes and hamstrings.)⁣ 4. 1 Arm KB Squat (Make sure to switch sides) ⁣ 5. Single Leg RDLS (With a slight bend in the knee, hinge forward at the hips, keeping your back as flat as possible & the KB close to your shin. Pro tip: point your back toe towards the ground or working leg to make sure you don’t tilt your pelvis. Make sure to switch sides here as well!) ⁣ 4 sets of 12! 🐪 day!!!! . . I recently decided to incorporate this exercise back into my leg day 🤗. . . This exercise highlights my biggest weaknesses.......hip and ankle mobility 😩. If you look close enough you can see that I’m able to get lower into my side lunge on my left side, than my right side 😑. . . I had stayed away from side goblet lunges for a while because of 1. How difficult they are for me, and 2. How much they show my weaknesses 🙁. THOSE ARE DUMB REASONS to stay away from an exercise!!!!!! . . Today’s 9am Build was a tough one! 5 rounds of 6 challenging exercises. Everyone was pretty smoked after round 3 but pushed past the mental hurdles and committed to finishing strong. When you have a coach and a group to motivate you, it helps you reach levels you never knew you were capable of 🎉

So I think I know why they call it an assault bike - because it makes you want to assault your personal trainer. Especially when he includes it in your circuit (that also comprised Bulgarians & deadlifts with shrugs, btw) and “tells” you to “Push! Push!” until your heart is like a jackrabbit in your chest.
