Cajun Salmon Bowl today for lunch 🥑 Before you decide this bowl looks too fancy for you to make, know that I bought this salmon PRE-COOKED from our local grocery store bc we were traveling and I needed lunch in a pinch🙌🏼 I have no shame buying a lot of my proteins already made when I’m super busy and don’t have the time (or patience) to cook some up myself🤓 Maybe your local grocery store doesn’t carry pre-made salmon but a lot of stores offer rotisserie chickens which are one of my favorite proteins to buy for easy meal making🙂 It’s all about making it work but still keeping it simple!💯 - #whatsinmybowl : •Cajun blackened salmon(bought already cooked from @wegmans) •1/2 avocado(sprinkled w sesame seeds) •2/3 c shelled edamame (bought frozen from @traderjoes) •1 c steamed broccoli •1/4 c sweet potato mash(bought frozen from @traderjoes) •tahini yogurt dressing(mix greek yogurt + tahini + salt + pepper + little bit of lemon juice + little bit of water) - We’re finally back in NY and back to coooooold temps (it was 75 degrees in CT yesterday and 35 degrees in NY this morning 🥶) Feeling like I just came back from a warm vacation😂 Oh well at least the sun is out right!?☀️ I’ll take what I can get😜 Enjoy your hump day!!❤️

Load up at breakfast with this delish chia pudding! All you need is: -3 TB Chia Seeds -1/2 Banana -1 tsp Vanilla Extract -2/3 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk -1 tsp Cinnamon Mix it all together the night before and leave it in the fridge to soak! Then top with whatever you want in the morning - I picked blueberries! I also paired it with some egg whites for extra protein but the macros for just the pudding are 14 F/ 33 C/ 10.5 P and 287 calories. ARCTIC ZERO NON-DAIRY COOKIE SHAKE REVIEW [NEW FORMULA] • @arcticzero • TASTE: 1.5/10 This tasted like the grass jelly drink you find at Asian grocers with a hint of coffee taste. It tasting NOTHING like a cookie shake or anything remotely close to cookies or cream 😬☹️ I give it a 1.5 because I don’t mind the grass jelly drink, but I don’t think it’s good as an ice cream flavour. (SWIPE ➡️ to the last photo for the grass jelly drink) Overall taste-wise, +0.5 points for actually having flavour in this new formula 😂 • TEXTURE: 5/10 This new formula has MUCH BETTER texture than the old jello-eraser texture BUT it’s not quite ice cream texture yet. It’s getting there, but perhaps another reformulation is needed before they get the ice cream texture right. 🤷🏻‍♀️ • OVERALL: 2/10 Now I can officially say: I don’t get the Arctic Zero hype. Two and a half years ago I moved to Sunbury-On-Thames. I knew no one. I spent my days heading back to my previous home to socialise or Netflixed the day away. . . . Then I joined @puregymofficial in Walton, after a while started bootcamp with @srobinsonpt and when winter hit and I didn’t much fancy braving the cold, I discovered @ladies.that.lift and fell in love with lifting again. And the rest as they say is history. . . . Joining the gym has got to be the best decision I could have ever made. The people I’ve met, the friends I’ve made and the countless sweaty sessions I’ve had are priceless. . . . I have tried the whole demonizing one food group thing. A lot. Usually it was carbs, low fat diets haven’t really been in vogue during the timespan I’ve been immersed in our country’s diet culture. I am happy to report that eating all the food groups is now a priority. That I understand a little better what each does for my body (hello brain fog 🤯, and here I thought that was normal). My current fave dinner with all my macros on one plate? Mashed sweet potatoes for carbs, steamed 🥦 for veg, shredded chicken for protein and homemade honey mustard dressing for fat. Do you guys have any go-to meals that get it all in? Share em and I’ll steal em 😁

Aside from numerous health benefits, there are key performance benefits that make cardio important. For example, the higher your cardiovascular fitness, the better your body is able to regenerate ATP (your body's energy currency) between sets of a workout. This means you will be able to go harder and keep the pace higher whilst lifting heavy. With that being said, there is always the argument between low intensity and high intensity cardio and, to be honest, both are important in my opinion. While I perform low intensity fasted walks in the morning, I believe HIIT training (High Intensity Interval Training) is much more optimal than 2 hours on a treadmill as hours on a treadmill doesn't really do much for anyone looking to get fit and lean. Screamed at my Alexa and it turned back on but it was disconnected from my speaker so it was super low. Dumbbell kept rubbing my tattoo so yet here another issue. But nope just kept trucking along. I was so tempted to get a burger but opted for the more “cut-appropriate” food (aka less calorie dense + easier to fit your macros) and I don’t regret it at all🤤🤤 The berry smoothie was even a protein smoothie😍🍓🍌 Also this is the most aesthetic food photo I’ve ever taken so it was more than worth it🤩

{ Day 17 } “How do I get more protein in my diet?” . . The number one question I get asked by my clients on the regular. . . More than likely, you aren’t eating enough of it. I wasn’t; it was impacting my progress with body composition and training. . . The USDA recommendation for protein is low. The USDA supports more whole grains, fruits, & vegetables. We’ve been taught from a young age that too much protein, specifically red meat is “bad”. Yes, large quantities of fatty proteins over an extended period of time can be harmful, but steak every single night is a bit much, talk about treat yo’ self lifestyle. . . For active women, I recommend between .7 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight; not just lean muscle mass. If you lift weights regularly or are training for an endurance event, 1 gram per pound of body weight is the minimum recommendation. . . . It’s a lot of protein! Protein is vital, more importantly, we don’t store protein like we do carbs and fat. So it’s crucial we consume adequate amounts on the regular. Without, we start breaking down precious muscle tissue. I don’t know about you but I work hard for my muscles, I would hate to see zero reward because I have less is more mentality when it comes to food. . . Here are more reasons to pack in the protein: ✨muscle growth, repair, maintenance ✨Hormone health ✨Bone health ✨Stabilizes energy levels ✨Slows down digestion ✨Reduces insulin spikes Ways to get more protein. ✨Egg whites ✨Collagen ✨Powdered Peanut butter or nuts ✨Greek or Icelandic Yogurt / Dairy free yogurt too! ✨Cottage cheese ✨Kefir ✨Peas ✨Frozen fish or smoked salmon ✨Homemade protein balls, muffins, or cookies ✨Protein Powder ✨ @epicbar , @rxbar , jerky . . . How does powerlifting help you lose fat? Nobody ever talks about this but I feel like this is one of the best techniques you can use. • It is very important to preserve muscle mass while dropping fat. Even though a caloric deficit is absolutely non-negatiable for losing fat, you should be aiming to lose a maximum of 2 pounds per week. • Anything faster than that will make you risk losing muscle. You absolutely need to maintain strength, especially in a caloric deficit. Why? Because if you lose strength, you will lose muscle size as well... because, again, you're in a caloric deficit. • The slow approach is the best approach to lose fat. This will not only preserve all your muscle (that's right, ALL of it) combined with a powerlifting style training, but also prevent you from gaining back some of the weight you lost. What comes fast goes fast as well. I experienced this in both fat loss and muscle gain. • Let's say you can bench press 90 kgs for 5 reps normally. But now you want to shed fat. So you go into a caloric deficit. Now you won't have the energy to maintain 5 reps at 90 kgs. You can only do, let's say 2 reps now. • That's fine. Do the 2 reps. But stick with 90 kgs. It's much better to stick with the same weight drop the reps than it is to drop the weight and stick with those 5 reps. • Stop thinking that you can't lose fat and gain mass at once without steroids. Research shows it can happen. You sure can with steroids, but also without. It just takes longer. Steroids only speed things up dramatically.
