Among the many tales based on the life of Lord Krishna, the Govardhan Hill story finds a special mention. Krishna was a little boy when he lifted the Govardhan Parvat with the little finger of his left hand. The profound meaning and the moral of the story will help us become better humans #doodle #indianmythology

Sunday Fever !!!!!! Today, I will share my favourite picks. This book, "Palace of Illusions", is one of my cherished possession. The renowned writer has simply created magic with her words. She has beautifully expressed feelings of Draupadi from the birth till the end breath. . . Whenever I read this book, I learn something new from her journey. I feel different each time I read this extraordinary piece of art. . . Growing up in an average Delhi family, learning the heroic tales of Hindu gods & goddesses from your elders was a usual routine. Whether it was my grandma putting me to sleep with tales of Krishna’s mischief or watching Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana on television. The fables of Indian mythology and its legendary characters had a deep resonance with me. One such divine tale was about Airavata. The seven trunked white elephant that flies in the skies and showers rains with Lord Indra. The Devtas and Danavs got together to churn the ocean for 'amrut' - the nectar of immortality. Using the serpent Vasuki as a rope and Mount Mandrachal as the churning-rod, they churned out 14 precious items from the ocean, each of which is claimed by either the Devtas or the Danavs. Airavat was claimed by Indra. It was one of those many character that found a lasting impression on my mind and somehow became a symbol of nostalgia and our logo for @toraniofficial. #toranitales #theroots #toraniindia
