Thinking of picking up an interesting series to read this summer? But don't have the time? In that case pick up this rich mythological tale by @kavitakane It will not only offer a fresh perspective on the whole story of Mahabharat but also be a fascinating story to read through the eyes of Karna's wife Uruvi, something different than usual. The story of Draupadi too has been told clearly. You will be pleasantly surprised to find every event covered well. Have you read this book? Do tell us how you found it. @fcmahakaali @mahakaali_fc @poojabsharma_ @poojabsharma @ahamsharmafcid #draupadi #kavitakane #karna #indianmythology #indianenglishnovels #mahabharat #booksofinstagram #bookstagrammer #mythology

Dharmakshetra is an interesting series that shows a different side of Mahabharata. It is a unique approach to tell the tale of world's greatest epic story. It is set in Chitragupta's courtroom after all the characters of the story are passed away and are now present here to justify their actions. Many lesser-knowm details come to light and leaves you to watch what happens next. Must watch. That is a good piece of propaganda, I must admit. Claim that God is with you, or better, you are God, then anything you do, any adharma you commit, becomes divine play. I had lived as Ravana and I would die as Ravana. I did not intend to become Rama, the perfect man and God. There was no dearth of gods in my country. It only lacked men. I wanted to start again. I wanted to make the same mistakes, love the same people, fight the same enemies, befriend the same friends, marry the same wives and sire the same sons. I wanted to live the same life again.I didn’t want the seat Rama has reserved for me in his heaven. I only wanted my beautiful earth and return to my childhood to start over again, every single damn thing, again and again and again… Anand Neelakantan, Asura: Tale Of The Vanquished Oil on canvas 25x21 in. To all the Women around the world who has forgotten their true selves and accepted the harsh realities, given in to the tortures of the world and people around. I ask you to look within and find yourself, realise that you are Maa Shakti (Goddess of Power and Strength), Maa Saraswati (Goddess of Knowledge), Maa Kali (Destroyer of Evil). You are the Power you seek, the knowledge you need, the destroyer you have to be. You don't have to be oppressed, you don't have to be ashamed of yourself. You are the giver of Life. • Never hide away from happiness, to whatever degree or extent. • . . It is the story of Urmila, Sita's sister, and one of the most overlooked characters in the Ramayana. As Sita prepares to go into exile, her younger sisters stay on in the doomed palace in Ayodhya, their smiles, hopes and joys wiped away in a single stroke. But one woman, of immense strength and conviction, stands out in this tableau of tears and tragedy- Urmila, whose husband, Lakshman, has chosen to accompany his brother, Ram, to the forest. She could have insisted on joining Lakshman, as did Sita with Ram, but she did not. . . I've just finished reading this courageous tale of Urmila which was very well narrated. It has kept me gripped and I really enjoyed reading it. Whenever we talk or hear about Ramayana, the very first thing that occupies our mind is Ram's Exile. His fourteen years of exile in the forest. Nobody never really tells what had happened to others in those terrible long years. Yes, this book talks about the exile of the people who were left behind in the lavish palace of Ayodhya, shattered and heart broken. Urmila, who was neglected by her husband who chose to follow his brother, decided not to question him. She endured beautifully and grew through her pain. It talks about her questions, feelings and how she dealt with her destiny. The writer has shown the state of mind of other females in the palace as well with a really different perception. Character detailing was very interesting. Along with Urmila, other females too were going through their inner sufferings. They fought with each other, fate, god and sometimes simply with themselves. Its about how their lives have been shaped by destiny and how they took it. Everyone who enjoys reading Indian Mythology, should go for this book. It won't disappoint you. :) . #therisingreaderreading 📖 #sitassister #kavitakane #kavitakanebooks #femaleauthors #indianauthors #indianmythology #bookstagram #bookstagramindia #bookgram #bookishjourney #bookishcommunity #bookalicious #booksandmore #booksandbeyond #thebookoholics #bookishworld #readersofinstagram #booksofinstagram #loveformythology #booklover #myhappyplace #preciselypena 🎈

Decided to make a few small amends to the design I sketched out. But went for the majority of the vote which was B! Agree with you all there 😅. - - After researching into this particular avatar and the imagery, I have added in the world/earth on the side of the design to add more substance to the overall design. And made some slight adjustments to refine it. - - Really can't wait to share the final coloured version with explanation into this avatar. In the mean time... Would love your feedback on this design? And do you know who this reimagined icon is of?! - - . . . @logoinspirations @logolearn @logoplace @mylogoinspiration @logoimport @logoroom @thelogopassion @logodesignlovers @logosinspiration @logosupport @logofavs @iconaday @iconutopia @iconscout @hinduism_ @thelogopassion @graphicgang @graphicdesigncentral @graphicdesignblg @hindu_dharma @iconfinder @logo_showcase @logonew @logovoice @hinduthought @filsafat_hindu @design.feed @logowof @logohero @logosniper @logolemon @kalagrit @startindia @dsgnfbrc @kultureshopindia @indiaartfair @indianinspiration @culture_indian @art.sigma @india.nama @indian_artsy @create.culture @raipurshouts @sikhexpo

Sita's Sister What a beautiful, poetical, poignant novel by @kavitakane . I don't remember the last time a book had this impact on me! Urmila comes alive on the pages of Sita's Sister and you see a part of this famous epic that u probably never even endevoured to imagine. The love of Mila and Lakshman, their unique, intense, poetic love can be easily felt cos it's so beautifully depicted. It brings out the till overlooked and completely unventured story within the grand story that we're so familiar with! It'll surely test your imagination and make you ponder how and why it was always Ram and Sita and not Urmila and Lakshman who were the ideal couple. Even though I finished the novel yesterday, it feels like Urmila is still with me, she's somehow transcended the world of Kane's pages and surrounded my being! Thank you mam @kavitakane for writing this beautiful, beautiful novel! Get this book if you don't have it already. Like ✓ Comment ✓ Share ✓ & Tag your friends✓ . . . . . . . In addition to the SAPTARISHI, there are other classifications of sages. In descending order of precedence, they are  Brahmarshi, Maharshi, Rajarshi. Devarṣi, Paramrṣi, Shrutarṣi and Kandarṣi are added in Manusmriti iv-94 and xi-236 and in two dramas of Kālidasa. . . . . 1) Rajarshi - These people are generally kings who have ruled for 1000's of years and then live a mentally detached spiritual life leaving behind their fame and wealth. . . . . 2)Devrishi are celestial saints like Narada who have the ability to foresee future, travel around different lokas/worlds and whose task is to  share their wisdom to help the unstable minds. . . . . 3)Maharishi is an advanced Gyaani short of reaching Brahmarshi status. This is an extremely difficult status to achieve as simple act of adharma like a split second of anger or lack of control on passions will ruin thousands of years of TAPO BHALAM. The great sage Vishvamitra rose from the level of king to Maharishi status after observing 3000 years of penance. . . . 4)Brahmarshi is the saint who had reached the highest state of spirituality. This is the highest level of spirituality a human can achieve. ||Parashurama|| The name Parashurama appeared for the first time in Indian literature around 500CE. Before then, he is known by other names such as Rama Jamdagyna. He's the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu and was a bramhakshatriya. His father Jamadagni was a bramhin sage and mother Renuka was a kshatriya princess. He was the grandson of Satyavati after princess Renuka marries a Vedik scholar living in the forest, Jamadagni. In Vayu Purana it's said that Renuka ate a sacrificial offering to both Rudra (Shiva) and Vishnu which gives Parashurama the dual characteristics of kshatriya and bramhin. One day king Arjuna Kartariya tried to take the #kamdhenu cow Suravi from Jamadagni. Parashurama challenged him and killed him. The warrior class became furious and fought with Parashurama who killed them as well. Later when his father told him that killing a king is a sin he decided to expiate his sin by going on a pilgrimage. When he returened he found that warrior class had killed his father out of revenge and they again killed them all. Parashuram is the only avatar of Vishnu who never dies. He co-exists with other Vishnu avatars like Rama and Krishna. He was the mentor of Bhishma, Drona and Karna in Mahabharata. He is believed to be born to wipe out malpractices and corruption from world. His weapon is axe. He corrects the cosmic equilibrium by pushing the powerful tyrants. He's the founder if Nilyogi Bhumihar Bramhim, Chitpavan, Anavil and Nambudiri Bramhin communities. Data collected from theisis by James.G.Lotchfield.
