Tuscan dogs, Tuscan boys, Tuscan vines...tasting last year's wine behind the hills of Monte Morello. Getting some energy out racing among the vines...but it's Sunday so it will be bathtime soon #tuscany #italy #florence #fall #italianlife #lifeinitaly #italianwine #raisingboys #madeinitaly #firenze #italia

Living in a holy place may seem to some like a rejection of the material world. No, I love it, embrace it, and it's as important for my wellbeing as my spiritual pursuits. I don't see the world as black or white, but as two sides of the same coin. 🎶Cause we're living in a material world and I am a material girl🎶 💖and also a spiritual girl 💖😉 . . . . . #dolcegabbana #dolceandgabbana #capri #caprilife #italiangirl #italianclothing #italy #italianlife #italy #highstreet #vegan #veganmodel #travel #travelwithme #lifestyleblogger #travelblogger #ragazza #latina #highheels #material #materialgirl #spiritualworld #fashion #madonna #lifestyle #balance #wellbeing

#italianaday for #italianheritagemonth Licia Albanese (1909-2014) was an Italian-born, American operatic soprano. Born in Noicàttaro, a quarter of Bari in Southern Italy, she made her official debut at La Scala Theatre in Milan in 1935 in Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” which would be the role she’d become most famous for. She soon became well-known throughout Europe for her performances, and a few years later, moved to the United States. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1940, and was instantly a hit. She remained at the Met for 26 more seasons, with a grand total of 427 performances. She also performed at the San Francisco Opera for 20 years, at this same time. She became a United States citizen in 1945. Albanese left Met Opera company in 1966 and continued to perform occasionally, both live and with the NBC Symphony Orchestra. Her performance in “La Traviata” was so popular that she sang more performances of that opera at the Met and at the san Francisco Opera than any other singer in the history of either company. Albanese was considered to be one of the most accomplished and dynamic sopranos of her time – President Bill Clinton presented her with the National medal of Honor for the Arts in 1995, and she received awards and honorary degrees from 10 different universities. She was also awarded the extremely prestigious Handel Medallion, which is the highest official honor given by New York City, presented to those who contribute to a city’s cultural life. Beyond her roles on stage, Albanese was the chairman of the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation, which was dedicated to supporting young artists and singers. She also worked alongside the Julliard School of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, and Marymount Manhattan College. She passed away at her home in Manhattan, at the age of 105.
