Transformation Tuesday?....not exactly. The hotel kitchen almost killed me Friday... ⚠️LONG POST ABOUT TO ENSUE⚠️ Let’s talk about food, specifically: what we eat, our likes, dislikes and cravings. Our bodies are amazing machines. Believe it or not, they tell us exactly what they need, we just need to learn how to listen. Unfortunately, it’s usually our brains that screw it all up and interpret the signs all wrong. Let me expound a little with a personal experience of my own. For my entire life, until just a few years ago, I thought I hated onions. I couldn’t stand the look of them, the thought of them, the texture of them and the taste was definitely the worst. I avoided them at all costs. Well, in 2014, we moved to Azerbaijan. Onions happen to be a staple in every dish in that country. It was impossible to avoid them. I still tried my hardest but, more often than not, I failed miserably. I think I consumed more onions in the 18 months living there, than in the 41 years combined, that we have lived anywhere else. I had tons of intestinal issues during those 18 months. I thought it might be the water or maybe just the horrible quality of everything in general. I had no real clue what was causing so many problems but I found my stomach would get severely bloated quite often after eating. Just before our next relocation, we took a trip back to the US. I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain. I thought my appendix was going to rupture. I was hospitalized for 4 days and re-diagnosed with diverticulosis which at the time had developed into diverticulitis. I was NPO for 4 days until the intestinal swelling went down, then I was put on a strict diet to help identify the foods that set off the diverticulosis. There are several foods that set it off but the biggest one is onions! My body has been telling me my entire life that I don’t like onions...because I AM ALLERGIC to ONIONS. There are real reasons that we have dislikes. On the other side of this, there are real reasons we have cravings. When we crave things, our bodies are telling us that they need something. At this point, it’s almost always our brains that screw it up. For example:

Sometimes we forget how much time we actually spend sleeping😪. We're more concerned of our posture for a 15min drive over our 8 hour sleeping posture (more like 6 if you're like me and can't leave the dream alone🤓. All the work is so that one day I could actually get ♾ sleep😏). . So whether it's 5 hours or 9 hours of sleep we could all agree we spend a ton of time in any one given position during sleep. Unfortunately often that sleeping position isn't the best for us😓 Yes we're all told time and time again that sleeping on your back is the best position for you. However, I think there is a claim that could be made here🤔. . If you have a hard time sleeping on your back but sleep like a baby on your stomach should we be fighting to become something that just isn't for us or should we focus on creating a better environment for the positions we feel most comfortable in? Especially if forcing ourselves to sleep a certain way leaves of unrested😑 I mean the debate could go on forever but this is just my lens on it Here is a hack for you stomach sleepers out there. With stomach sleeping a lot of stress is put on the low back because your back is arched throughout the night😪 Try adding a pillow under your stomach to flatten out your back. This can drastically reduce the low back stress of stomach sleeping and could likely have you feeling less back tension in the morning. Last week in Hawaii, I did yoga on the beach. I found a raised grassy patch, and focused on breathing while listening to the waves crash right in front of me. I felt so at peace. Afterward, I happened to glance behind me at this absolutely gorgeous home and noticed a woman doing boxing with her personal trainer. There I was, covered in sand, having done yoga with no yoga mat, looking a sweaty mess. And there she was, the epitome of all things great, lol. I could’ve been jealous, and I think a lot would, but instead, I smiled and waved, because though we may have different circumstances, we were working toward the same goal. I sat there for a while and felt so happy with the place that I’m in. Comparison is the thief of all joy, girls, and just remember, YOU are giving it your all, and that’s all we can ever ask for. Continue to do amazing things and have the happiest Tuesday! 💛

Sure if you have children and family you’ll probably have less ”extra” time than someone who is single and lives alone, but I’m also sure that everybody can find at least 15-30 minutes everyday to workout and if you can’t, it’s because training is not on your priority list. . 🌟WORKOUT DONE!🌟I'm going to just lay here for a moment while Marley enjoys how salty I taste 😆. I did 3 rounds from HML 75 @bodyrocktv_lisamarie on SweatFlix. I burned 233 kcal in 33 mins 🔥 See break down of my modified workout further down 👇It feels soooo good to be back to working out. It does feel as if it's been ages since my last workout but it's "only" been a week. Not working out for a week was the norm for the OLD me. Now? It feels totally foreign and strange! 😲 I did go to swim on Thursday and Sunday so hopefully that did count to something, but nothing beats a workout at home, with my weights and my trainer Lisa 😍 - - Yesterday was a bit of an off day. I was planning on studying for a few hours in the afternoon. The fact is that I kept re-reading the same page over and over again, and nothing was registering. I just couldn't focus. It felt like my brain did not want to co-operate ❌I took it as a sign that my body and brain just needed to chill, relax and unwind, after such crazy 10 days. So that's exactly what I did. I watched two episodes from FRIENDS, for a good laugh. Then napped for an hour 💤. I didn't get to work out, but I DID stick to my calorie limit and finished at 1,359 for the day. - - Now I'm off to dye my hair and do my nails. What are you up to today? Are you working out? People often ask when I stopped training during pregnancy and when I started post birth. See, for me it’s not really a linear stop/start thing. Sure, it ebbs and flows, but it’s never as simple as stopping and starting. I stripped it back layer by layer as I needed to during pregnancy - very very steady as she goes through the last few weeks. But I kept active right up until birth, as I have with my other pregnancies. Then post birth, it’s a slow process of rehabilitation, strength building and maybe gathering some fitness along the way! So, swipe for my little workout from today - barbell squats - then 25-20-15-10-5 KB swing + DB thruster. All up less than 25 mins work. Getting it done quickly 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼. So I got up early with all the good intentions to get up and go running 🏃♀...but it was raining 🌧 and I am too fair-weather so that scrapped those plans...and then I started with the faffing and procrastinating which is just ridiculous (who wants to faff at 6am!!) I could just not decide what to do.
