A picture of my #warmup yesterday: before the squat I do some #mobilitydrills #hipairplanes #tacticalfrog #singlelegrdl and my favorite: #kbsquats ... I used to warm up only #squatting the bar . Most people do some mobility before, some others don't... Studies seem to be inconclusive but preparing the muscles for the #training doesn't sound like a bad idea. Today it was just #conditioning but with a PR on farmer's walks, you will have to take my word for it, though cause I don't have a video 85 kg x 10 ways ( like 10 or 20 meters, I don't know) #grip was failing on the last though #training #warmup #powerlifting #squats #shieldmaiden

LEG DAY LEG DAY LEG DAY - Do not skip leg day. Don’t skip leg day. Do NOT skip LEG DAY. Don’t SKIP LEG DAY. DO NOT SKIP LEG DAY. DON’T SKIP LEG DAY. - - Now that I got that off my chest, I had myself one hell of a leg day again. I was still sore from Wednesday’s lower body training. I guess I went too HAM. I mean that was my nickname back in Harlingen. No one in Tucson calls me that 🤔😒 - - - ANYWAY, I had to work out the soreness which was pure hell on its own aside from the session itself. I was able to do front squats! It took me a moment to get comfortable, but I was able to work up to 105 lbs, I do believe. I was still focusing on quick reps. The burn was so real since I was still sore. I paired squat pulses w/ front squat 😫 - - - - I also felt like myself because I did leg press today and I used to live on that machine. Sure enough, today I did a whole lotta sets on leg press and it was fantastic. I also did the kettlebell squats as you can see here, leg extensions and some walking lunges. Finished up the session w/ an efficient climb on the stair master. All in all it was another FUNky leg day.

TRAINING SATURDAY When it’s Seb who advises, I feel like I have to obey. 😁 I am seeing a DOCTOR (I’m scared of doctors, hahaha! 🤣😂) next week to finally have my right leg checked. Seb said it’s been going on for a while so I should take care of it... And besides, I miss doing some jumpskips and running...😭 Today, we redid the CHIPPER with some modifications to that one done in Feb: box step ups instead of box jumps and higher box than that one in Feb. The KB squats, in terms of pacing, were my issue today. Seb always reminds me of PACING. He said I should not focus on the numbers and that I should focus on getting things done without too much rest in between at a controlled pace. I really need to get that tattooed on my mind! Nevertheless, CHIPPER today was amazing! I was 18 seconds faster compared to last time! While it may be true that the KB squats kicked my a... today, those are my favorite! I FINALLY got a workout in! It has been weeks! Having an injury really sucks, then add moving to a new city and not teaching classes... my body is dying for some hard training! I discovered that the Skagit Community College track is just down the street so I ran a lap and then did a backyard workout before work this morning! It felt Soooo Good! My last round of 90/30 even turned into a little solo dance party Lol. Forgot to post lunch & dinner yesterday as I had quite a busy day. Seeded baguette with feta cheese 🧀 spinach & sun blushed tomatoes 🍅. Lunch @costacoffee having a long over due catch up with @shirleyxohxo . I used to think mental pains are way more unbearable than physical ones, until I started workout six years ago. Everytime when my coach & myself push me harder and harder, and break my previous ability limits, I would literally feel like dying. But afterwards I would appreciate so much about everything I had in my life and be more understanding, cos I clearly know how extraordinary and unstoppable a person can be striving towards their goal. It's not about being a workout pro/muscles/being attractive. Having perseverance and patience can get exhausting and that’s when it comes down to how strong your faith is. Work hard. Be strong and understanding, even tho some jerks take it granted or show their hilarious over-confidence.
