Starting a new morning routine. I've been inspired recently by numerous things all spun into a web of finding direction and rest in my daily life. Starting a new homeschool year brings change, so why not make other adjustments in my life? . I realized I had gotten into a bit of a negative thinking rut after coming home from a mission trip..... sounds odd right?! . After being on such a spiritual high and feeling so close to God, I had a rough time adjusting to real life with real everyday distractions. I almost felt resentful of minute things I had to deal with. Phone calls, anything to do with my phone, going to town running errands, appointments, kids activities..... then I realized, I just need to find a daily rest period with God. (Which I had been doing, but realized how critical it is to my day) I also heard something recently from the author of #girlwashyourface that when you get in a negative rut, spend time writing out 10 things you're grateful for in your day. . I'm amazed at how quickly my thoughts are changing, just in the last 2 days! . I also started a challenge group to add fitness back into my routine. I had been avoiding it because I felt I didn't have any time left in my day for the past 6 months! I still have the same demands, just different priorities. As Jocko says, "Aftermath." Last week traveling for work, and the hotel I'm at has a decent gym. However, it's PACKED at 6 am. Strangely no one was using the kettlebells... Heaviest was 30lb, so I focused on form with my swings, tried snatches (ouch), and for the first time tried stacking KB for some getups. Also rowed 2k and thought I was going to die.
