So, I woke up this morning intending to go for a walk and do some planks and stretch. Well I did that, got back to my bunk and realized I still needed to do “Gabe.” This workout was posted by a @streetparking memebr @autumnsmom09. After reading the meaning behind it I along with many other members tackled this workout. So, after resting a bit I headed up to the gym and got it done. It was one of the times I had to “go there” to that place where you have something I you’re pushing for and you just have to turn everything off and give it 100% focus. There won’t be any toast - nothing - you might as well put your Vegemite, jam and peanut butter away! But if you injure (cut or compress) a nerve it can react at the site of the injury, along the nerve, or even in the area the nerve looks after. Your nerves are a living and changeable part of you. They can’t shut down like the toaster. Even with minimal injury, nerves continue to react when you move too much, too little, are stressed, have the flu or feel hot or cold. If you can understand her nerves behave you and your nerves will be less stressed. Nerve injuries are paradoxical. You would expect that if a nerve was cut or damaged it would just shut down. But it doesn’t. It becomes reactive to many stimuli including local immune activity, temperature changes, movement and psychological stress. The nerve may react in its innervation zone to any or a combination of these stimuli. When someone has had an injury with some nerve involvement but they notice the symptoms worsen when they are sick or stressed, this nugget can be used to explain to them that it’s not because the nerve is more injured, it’s because it’s now highly sensitive.
