I was finding that as I went up in weight on my deadlifts my form was getting worse and this was affecting my lower back. The trap bar is a great way to still lift heavy and keep form. Everyone steps into the gym looking at the workout, little did we know 10AM Class today was dreadful HARD the WOD didn't look much at all BUT by the end WE all 'WERE' swimming in our sweat. We are training for War Of The West, the 1st strongman circuit show of the season. We are very lucky in 🇨🇦 . We have a pro strongwoman circuit considered equal to the men. This is known as ‘holding space’ for someone. This post isn’t a poem. But advice from experience I feel is worth talking about. You do not need any of the answers in order to help someone. In fact, even if you do have the answers sometimes it’s best to keep them to yourself. As offering them can be enough pressure to make a very fragile person clam up and not want your help at all, putting that person in even more of a vulnerable state. Empathy is one of the most precious gifts you can offer someone when they’re feeling emotionally/psychologically unwell or overwhelmed. Holding space for someone requires a state of selflessness. One that offers non-judgemental, safe and gentle support that allows them to open up in their own time, and in their own way. Holding space is such a soft and yet powerful way to help someone in a very vulnerable state. It empowers the person to be able to find the answers that they feel they need. It allows them to learn how to work things out for themselves, and most importantly how to heal themselves. It’s something well worth looking into. A week off of your diet A week off of working out A week off of life Getting back in the saddle of life is tough! I’m not going to lie and say it was easy, this was the toughest 30 minutes I have ever done and I felt the effects. The effects of the endless mimosas and shots and other drink. I felt the effects of the food I ate and how heavy I felt. No retreats what so ever though. It’s the balance in life we need. But, want to know what’s tougher than doing this.... not doing it. So gassed to have my squat form on point, and every squat feels soo much better than how they used to feel. Can't stress how important it is to get your squat form on point before you start trying to add weight💪 #leaveyouregoatthedoor - Been squatting heavy for 2 weeks now and started off squatting 80kg's - I've had 4 sessions since then and managed to hit 3 sets of 2 reps on 105kg in yesterdays session. Ein Thema was mir selbst super am Herzen liegt... ich selbst trainiere jetzt seit gut 1o Jahren. Habe Lizenzen und Fortbildungen gemacht, unzählige Blogs und Artikel gelesen und Trainingsvideos geschaut. Und trotzdem: immer wieder schleichen sich kleine oder auch mal grobe Fehler in der Ausführung ein. Gerade Trainingsanfänger aber auch erfahrene „Sportler“: leave your Ego at the door. Sucht euch ein Studio in dem ihr Fragen könnt. In dem Trainer/innen darauf bedacht sind, immer wieder eure Ausführung zu checken, euch zu Supporten und Tipps zu geben. Euren Trainingsplan an euch angepasst immer wieder umformulieren. Checkt eure Ausführung regelmäßig vor dem Spiegel. Und seid kritisch. Es sind oft minimale Aspekte die über Kraftzuwachs aber auch Verletzungen entscheiden können 🙌 @bellavitalis_

Two years ago, I attended a leadership training program which really had me diving deeper than I ever had before. I felt that although I had made great progress, something was still missing. One week ago, I talked through my #bigsurmarathon plan with @onefootinfront. She gave me a target race pace. My reaction: “You must have me confused with a slower runner”. Her response: “You must have this race confused with a fast, flat, easy course” Hmph. She’s right. I’m getting sidetracked by all the friends and random people pushing for time goals around me. I went back and reviewed my original goals. Here they are in the order of importance I gave to her. 1. Don’t have a training roller coaster with my family. 2. Enjoy the race without setting unrealistic expectations. 3. Finish. 4. PR (sub 4:45:43) 5. Sub 4:30 6. Sub 4:20 She has me on track for at least the first 4 and maybe even 5 of those goals if the stars align. And you know what? 6 goals for one race was kinda ridiculous anyway. I’ve had a great training cycle and have enjoyed (almost) every moment of it! How about I choose not to screw it all up now just because I worry that someone somewhere who barely knows me or the course might look at my time and think “huh...
