REST...... I don't mean just sleep, but resting your body and mind. We live in a 24/7/365 kind of world all the time. But living like is going to halt your results. . . . Sundays are rest or active recovery days in the FASTer Way. Take a long walk, play some sports with your kids, or just snuggle up on the coach with a good book/movie. Rest those muscles so you don't over train them! . . . I know "rest" is a dirty word to some fitness fanatics, but it's what your body needs to perform it's best! Your mind needs rest too. While warming up for a beach shoot I did some stretching. This is my modified version of a low lunge(anjaneyasana). This stretch really helps lengthen the hip flexors. If you spend most of your day sitting they spend a lot of time in a shortened state. That can cause pulling and tilting of your pelvis to a more forward position, which can cause extra compression in your lower vertebrae, and overcompensation from other muscles that are trying to keep you aligned. Pretty happy about squatting 100lbs for the second time! I stopped for a bit due to travelling. Last time I scored 100lbs was August 10. I had to drop back down to 65 lbs Oct 1. As most of you know I started my journey about six months before Chad proposed... but I wasn’t anywhere close to my goal weight at that point! When I first tried on THE dress. We couldn’t do up the back, and I was taking a bit of a gamble about how it would look because it definitely did NOT fit. I ended up ordering a dress that was too small - signed the waiver sayin it’s not the stores fault if my dress doesn’t fit 😂 and committed to my journey! Not only did the dress fit in September, but I also had to get it taken in! Now I’m not saying this for bragging rights, I’m saying this to let you know that anything is possible if you set your mind to it! People thought I was a bit crazy planning a wedding in 9 months - and I definitely was nervous about the dress. But it all fell together perfectly. 6 months of following my online workout programs - 25 more lbs down, and a lot more muscle 💪 No I never starved myself, and yes I probably ate pizza one too many times. But if you commit yourself to living a better - healthier life, the results will come!! Once you believe in yourself, anything can happen ♥️

GETTING BACK ON TRACK • It’s time for me to get back on track on my journey. I had made great progress on WW until the school year ended. Then the summer hit and I wasn’t on WW anymore because we were not having our school meetings. I’m sad to say that I lost my progress, but I’m not going to let that be a stumbling block. I rejoined WW yesterday and I’m having a fresh start today. Here we go!

Happy Sunday beauts 🤩 How’s everyone’s weekend been? I’ve woken up feeling like I’ve been hit by a bus - leg and glute DOMS from yesterday are real and to top it off, today is definitely a hangover day 😷 What a perfect example of smash the gym, smash the gin ey...wow I cringe myself out sometimes 😂 What’s everyone else’s drink of choice? I like gin because it’s quite a fresh drink and if you have it with slimline tonic it hardly has any calories in it - pure alcohol has 7kcal/g so of course the stronger spirits do have more calories in than beer or wine but you usually drink a much lower quantity of them (unless you’re a legend) so if you mix them with a low calorie mixer like tonic or soda water then you can keep the calorie count down 🥂 I don’t track macros and if I did I don’t think I’d include alcohol macros but if you think you’re not making progress even if you’re diet is very healthy, maybe look at your choice of drink on a night out - but don’t let it take away from your fun guys and gals ☺️ Just a Sunday thought for you beauts, lots of love, laurenjfitness 😘
