When we feel like we need to lose weight, we hop on a scale, weigh ourselves and set a goal to lose 10 pounds. But what does that mean exactly?⁣ ⁣ 10 pounds of fat??⁣ ⁣ 10 pounds on muscle??⁣ ⁣ 10 pounds of water??⁣ ⁣ Please please please stop looking at the scale only! ⁣ ⁣ What I do:⁣ 🔹 Weigh myself daily first thing in the morning and take the average across 7 days⁣ 🔹 Use tape measure to track my waist, hips and thighs once a month⁣ 🔹 Take progress photos once a week/month from front, side, and back view in your underwear and sports bra⁣ ⁣ If you look at the scale only, you will most likely disappoint yourself and that’s where the negative relationship with our body image begins. ⁣ ⁣ You want to track your BODY FAT percentage not your weight (which includes everything from bones to water to muscle to fat). This can be tricky and expensive without using a professional but it can be done. ⁣ ⁣ ✔️ Be consistent with whatever method you use ⁣ ✔️ Get a well rounded idea of true progress ⁣ ✔️ Focus on how you feel & progress in gym⁣ ⁣ 💕 BODY UPDATE 💕⁣ I’m down 7lbs, 1.5 inches off waist and 2 inches off hips 🙌🏼🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ All of this happened slowly without dramatically changing my life...⁣

Do you film yourself lifting? I started to film my training for social media a while ago. Posting all my best lifts and showing people just how cool I am but then I realised 2 things. 1. I'm not cool. And 2. I can actually look at my lifts and see what I need to work on and give myself feedback. This set of 2 light power snatches is nothing special but I filmed it to pick up on my mistakes even with light weight. (There are many things I can improve on) Do you film your lifts or your training? If not maybe you should.
