Yup, on Friday’s we #flex. I know it’s not much but I am down 3lbs since starting working out 4 weeks back. The goal is 3-4 lbs a month, but my main focus is to lose inches, and about 20lbs. When doing the straight arm pullovers, what you wanna do is: 1. Keep the arms slightly bent, so it take the pressure off of your triceps, and keep your arm stiff from there onwards. 2. Push your shoulders forward as if you are reaching out. 3. Mind to muscle connection should be at an all time high, so when you pullover, pull with your lats and not your shoulders. 4. Lastly, Range of Motion plays a big role in this exercise, so stretch up the lats when going up, and bring it down all the way to your knees. Research has shown that a low fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) diet can reduce the symptoms of gas and IBS. A low FODMAP diet avoids fermentable, gas-producing food ingredients, such as: * Oligosaccharides, which are found in wheat, onions, garlic, legumes and beans * Disaccharides, such as lactose in milk, yogurt and ice cream * Monosaccharides, including fructose (a type of sugar found in honey), apples and pears * Polyols or sugar alcohols found in foods such as apricots, nectarines, plums and cauliflower, as well as many chewing gums and candies.. . You need to hit it hard with loaded exercises, progress every workout (progressive overload - you need to force your body to continuously adapt to heavier tension in order to gain muscle) and eat in a calorie surplus. Using unloaded exercises as your MAJOR and ONLY exercise for glutes is exactly the same as doing bicep curls with no weights and expecting them to grow. It's just not going to happen. Choose exercises that will engage your glutes the most, to get more out of your sessions. Choose exercises such as squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, glute bridges and all of their variations to hit your glutes hard without plateauing. That booty won't grow as much as you want it too without them. If you'd like to use more isolated exercises that's fine too but figure out a way to load those smaller exercises so you are not wasting your time. The only problem is, this exercise is often done with poor form. I don't think it's so much a case of ego lifting, but more a case of you just don't know. You don't expect a machine exercise to be so nuanced do you? The key with this exercise is engaging the abs, and to a degree the glutes, to ensure that your pelvis doesn't tip forward or till anteriorly, which stops your back from arching. Your upper thigh should be glued to the bench rather than coming off. Idk) - - These are ab exercises I've used over the years with all of my clients. You'll notice there are no crunches in here with the exception of the hanging leg raise which you could call a reverse crunch. - - While I'm not 100% "arrti-crunch", I do think most people will benefit from other exercises if time is limited. - - If I HAD to pick just 2 of these exercises, I'd pick the rollout and the hanging leg raise. Those 2, IMHO, have the biggest bang for your buck and will create the biggest visual difference in your midsection. - - Even with this list, if you have limited time to work out, I'd do very little direct ab work and focus on big, compound movements. Even more important will be focusing your diet on lean proteins and delicious vegetables. IF is most useful for fat loss, but you CAN gain muscle on it. You just have to eat a lot, lol. If IF fits your lifestyle and you'd like to gain muscle, I'd follow the template on the right with 2 snacks. There are no hard and fast rules here; do what works for you. And no, I'm not saying you have to eat these exact meals. These are just ideas. You'll need more calories, carbs and fats on the muscle gain side. Protein will be about equal. For fat loss, your meals should gradually get bigger as the day progresses. You definitely can have a snack between meals and I recommend it if you get hungry. I haven’t posted one of these in a while, as I know most people roll their eyes 👀 or cringe at these sort of posts - but, In July I kick started a healthy eating regime with a new exercise plan, I quickly lost 1 stone 6lbs (9kgs/22.5lbs) in 5-6 weeks. I dropped from 11stone 11lbs to 10stone 5lbs - now I’ve been challenging myself to tone up and put on muscle and weight (which is hard for me to get my head around)! I’ve put on another 5lbs in muscle I now weigh 10stone 10lbs (141lbs/64.3kgs) but look better than before and just as slim! I go to the gym before work each morning 5-6 days a week. And have done for 3-4 months - I have a treat day once a week but ensure I make up for it at the gym!
