Getting Your ‘Dream’ Body | The Roadmap ⠀ *For the people with a short attention span, the short answer to this is - build habits to make it it a lifestyle. ⠀ What I mean is - invest your time and make the effort to develop habits and routines that help you stay lean and healthy almost effortlessly. ⠀ As you can see on the graphic there are typically four stages. The majority of us will start at above 20% body fat. To be lean and healthy you will need to be in the range of 6-15% body fat. ⠀ Depending on your genetics and your current lifestyle, transitioning between the different stages may be easier 😊 or very hard 😅. ⠀ However, the most important thing is it is POSSIBLE. The only thing holding you back is YOU. Once you start holding yourself accountable, you will be able to control your life. ⠀ I know that the majority of you want a quick and easy solution. The truth is that, yes, you can change your body in the short term, however, you won’t be able maintain the results. ⠀ It’s all about forming the right system. You build a sustainable system by creating habits that allow you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. ⠀ Examples: going to the gym 3x per week, cooking your own food 10x per week, averaging 10k steps per day, etc… ⠀ Building habits takes time, but in 12 months time you would’ve transformed your body and mind. Day 2/90 . Slept about 4 hrs last night so we’re getting a bit better 😛 My mind is still on overdrive. I think I need some meditation sessions to unwind . With that said, I forced myself out of bed with Mel Robbins 5,4,3,2,1. Grabbed 2 bananas and smashed a fricken awesome workout. . Workouts have changed as well, I plan on being in the gym 5~6 days a week depending on recovery and schedule . In terms or cardio I plan to start slow for the first couple of weeks, just a few runs around the block with nordic for now then bumping it up as we go . I’d also like to integrate more circuits bring back a bit of breakdancing which makes pretty good cardio . We’ve been shooting some workout/tutorial videos with the newly opened @xarefit GYM. 🖤transformation tuesday🖤 . Sometimes you just need to remember where you came from. . I felt like I was trapped inside someone else’s body. 6 months postpartum. Depression & anxiety had taken over my life. I had insomnia. I was exhausted virtually all the time. I cried every day. Multiple times. . And I hated myself. . I was so conflicted because I hated a body that had given my son life. I felt like I was betraying myself. . But from that I found my “why”. He was still so little but I imagined him as he grew. I started to picture it in my head. . Playing in the yard. Learning to ride a bike. Trips to the park. Practicing baseball. . All the things I knew I wouldn’t be able to do comfortably or easily if I didn’t make a change. . It wasn’t easy. It was HARD. Hell, it still is hard. But I did it. . Every single day you wake up, you have the opportunity to make the changes you need to make to get where you want to go. . Life is such a gift, and time is fleeting. I never want to spend a day taken for granted, and I NEVER want to take my body for granted. I will continue to push myself and appreciate my body for everything it’s been through. . If you’re stuck and want to make a change you need to dig deep, get uncomfortable, find the 🔥 inside you that will continue to burn despite what life throws at you. . “If you’d just lose weight you’d be as pretty as your cousin.” *meets my new boyfriend* “well how did YOU get him? Must be your money” we’ve all had someone say something about our weight that resonated so deeply with us we thought ourselves unworthy. My favorite was always “you have such a pretty face.” Words can tear us down for sure. It took me YEARS to let go of those first two sentences I wrote. I still think about it constantly. Why would someone say this to me? Was it true? First off, shame on anyone who thinks they have the right to speak on anyone’s physical appearance. Secondly, shame on me for believing it for even ONE second. I already was beautiful and for heavens sake my boyfriend (my now husband) loved me because I’m an f-ing amazing human being🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ words can hurt and will stay with us for a long time. I struggled for so long to find my self worth and even thought I was unworthy. I’m standing here today to tell you that no matter what I THINK YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL. I KNOW YOU’RE WORTHY. YOU ARE STRONG. YOU ARE CAPABLE. AND YOU ARE AN AMAZING F-ING HUMAN BEING. Never let someone’s misguided words control how you feel about yourself. Imagine every person has a puzzle like this one that is totally unique - Fat will be lost and gained very differently, depending on the person . It would be nice to be able to choose where you want to drop fat. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work like that. Some people will lose fat in their stomach first and thighs last. Some other people it will be the opposite. There is NO diet or exercise that’s going to make you lose more fat in one place more than another. If you stay in a caloric deficit then your overall body fat will go down and you’ll lose it where you want eventually. If you strength train you can build up muscle in the places you want. Genetics will still be a factor in how easy it is to grow a muscle though. . Don’t compare your fat loss journey with someone else’s. You can be doing everything right but might just take a bit longer to lose fat in certain areas than it does for other people. On the other hand, you probably lose it much faster in some places 😊 - Don’t stress about it. Just stick to your plan and when your overall fat level is down you’ll be happy 😁 . Good morning! ☀️ Here are my current weigh-ins for the month of February! I’m feeling too dependent on weigh-ins every day rather than just living in a healthier style and focusing on my health and how I feel (leaner&lighter) rather the weight. So my goal for now is weekly weight-ins VS daily because the scale is playing mind games with me and sometimes I can’t lie it puts me in a funk. The actual foods you eat depending on your goals does not need to drastically change. Rather, the portions of those foods should change. Here are 3 meals and a snack showing how food portions can be tweaked depending on your goals. - Breakfast Fat Loss: 2 eggs + 2 egg whites, 1/4 avocado, 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes + 1/4 cup mushrooms + 1/4 cup asparagus sautéed + 1 piece Ezekiel toast. Breakfast Muscle Gain: Added 2 eggs, + 1/4 avocado, + 1 tbsp peanut butter. - Lunch Fat Loss: 4oz chicken, 1 sweet potato, 1 cup broccoli. Lunch Muscle Gain - Added 2oz chicken, added 1 banana + 1 tbsp peanut butter. - Dinner Fat Loss: 4oz wild salmon, 1 cup cauliflower rice, 1 cup mushrooms + 1 cup kale sautéed in 1 tsp olive oil. Very helpful post from my friend @meowmeix. A common misconception is that there are certain foods that should be eaten to gain muscle and certain foods for fat loss. The actual foods you eat depending on your goals does not need to drastically change. Rather, the portions of those foods should change. Here are 3 meals and a snack showing how food portions can be tweaked depending on your goals. - Breakfast Fat Loss: 2 eggs + 2 egg whites, 1/4 avocado, 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes + 1/4 cup mushrooms + 1/4 cup asparagus sautéed + 1 piece Ezekiel toast. Breakfast Muscle Gain: Added 2 eggs, + 1/4 avocado, + 1 tbsp peanut butter. - Lunch Fat Loss: 4oz chicken, 1 sweet potato, 1 cup broccoli. The goal is to have a flat tummy and a big booty but also to look fit and feel healthy. It’s okay to have a body goal in mind but remember not every body is the same so don’t expect to have the same results as someone else. Your body will change at its own pace so don’t get discouraged because someone that just started working out is losing more weight than you and you’ve been at it for months now. You will get there. SWIPE LEFT ⬅️ - I got my reality check on Sunday and I needed it. The first two pics are flexed obviously and the last four are not flexed. All of them no filter or enhanced lighting. - I’m doing a 10,000 kettlebell swing challenge (I’ve done it the last two years). I’m completing all the swings in one month along with doing 100 push-ups and 50 pull-ups six days per week. - All of these pictures made me angry at myself for not being disciplined with a training regimen and eating out way too frequently. 💪Had the chance to try out cryotherapy today! - It has always been something I wanted to try to see how it would affect my body! - I think recovery is just as important when it comes to overall fitness... - Proper recovery allow us to be better overall. - There are so many methods out there to recover our body... this is just one of many. - However, I don't think this or anything else will beat a good night of sleep and proper nutrition. - With new technology coming out all the time to help take our health to the next level, many people fail to tackle down on the basics. - And by basics I mean the foundation of overall fitness...... such as your workout to create a stimulus for our body to change, enough sleep to recover, and quality food for energy and recovery. - If you're not doing those 3 things above... then there is no use in doing stuff like this. - It's just like supplements.... they don't magically help make your body better... you need to "supplement" it with everything else. - It was definitely a unqiue experience. I also think it requires multiple sessions before you see some benefits from this tool. - It is pretty much just an ice bath on steroid.
