Every 90s x 3 3 high hang snatches @ 68kg Every 90s x 3 1 high hang + 2 snatches @ 76kg Every 2 mins x 3 2 hang snatches + 2 snatches @ 79kg Every 2 mins x 3 3 snatches @ 86kg All with a 2s pause in the catch . 5 x 2 Banded back squats, then build to a 4RM followed by 3 x max sets at 90% . Thank you CrossFit (Academy ofLions), paleo/keto for helping me on my journey to becoming fit and healthy again, after 4 years of struggling with injuries and the repercussions. Today was a HUGE victory for me! I have struggled for the past several months with my muscle ups. I had changed a few technical things, screwed up my timing and mentally gave up on them. They had become a source of constant frustration. My @coachrobinlyons has been throwing them at me non stop lately and TODAY it all came together. I jumped up on the rings to warm up before the wod, they felt good so I kept going and did 6 unbroken. PR for me!!! But can I do them in a workout while winded.....well yes, yes I can! Second video was during a wod with rowing, prowler push and wall walks. Unbroken 5! I cried a little today!! Tears of joy of course. Just a reminder to never give up. Fight through the work and frustration. I am PUMPED!! I’ve posted a fair bit about my training on here, but sometimes training isn’t about how heavy, how many or how fast... sometimes simply being able to get in the gym and have a plan you can stick to when you need to keep everything else in your life in balance can be an achievement in itself. Over the course of this year I’ve gone from training 5 days a week down to 3 through necessity with the demands of work but have requested from my coach that each session really pushes me. The net result - more rest time, better focussed effort in each session, better recovery, better movement and a genuine excitement in anticipation of hitting the gym. It’s taken a while to find a routine which works for me with everything else that goes on in my life but not only has this new program given me the physical and mental stimulus I crave, it’s given me headspace and time to give the necessary time to all other aspects in my life and as a result, I’m so much happier and positive in so many ways. The added bonus of dropping 4kg in body weight whilst adding muscle mass only proves what a great decision this change has been. So it’s not always about hitting numbers for weight, showing off a new skill and reducing a workout time - simply being able to keep going can be reward enough. Throughout your journey, whichever it is, don’t let anyone or any excuse stand on your way. If you only want a part time commitment to the grind, you might just stay at home. So, choose to rise up, better than any excuse and stand taller than every negative person who tries to persuade you to stop or turn around. You know what you want and what you need, then, go in confidence. You should understand that those obstacles are part of the journey and you should be brave enough to face them. My advice: - Visualize yourself facing those obstacles, a person, an event... You know what to expect, you have been there.
