¿Por qué cambiar de hábitos?🍃 ____________________ Ultimamente escuchamos mucho por todos lados “cambia tus hábitos” pero ¿por qué cambiarlos? Por que cambiarlos te ayudará a tener una vida mas sana y feliz. Cambiar de hábitos a veces nos parece imposible, o simplemente no sabemos por donde empezar. Es aquí donde tenemos que acercarnos con alguien que nos oriente para poder tener éxito en nuestra meta. Para empezar a cambiar de hábitos tenemos que querer cambiar y no me refiero solamente a nutrición también en las emociones que son la principal causa de muchas enfermedades. Se dice que los malos hábitos dejan una marca palpable en circuitos específicos del cerebro preparándonos para “alimentar” estos hábitos tóxicos en lugar de luchar contra ellos. Por eso, es tan fácil y común caer en hábitos tóxicos y muy difícil salir de ellos.  Pero si ya estamos conscientes de que esto pasa, podremos controlar mejor nuestro cerebro. Es decir, tener mas voluntad al iniciar el cambio. Entonces, ¿cómo cambiar? Primero como mencioné anteriormente hay que querer, si no estamos dispuestos y seguros a realizar el cambio, vamos a claudicar en el primer intento. Segundo acercarse a un Health Coach que pueda ayudarte en todo el proceso y tercero establecer tu meta. Teniendo claro estos tres, se inicia el cambio. No podemos olvidar que el camino seguramente no será fácil pero una vez que ya estemos conscientes de que es lo mejor para nuestra salud integral será mucho mas fácil mantenerte en el proceso y seguir adelante. ***Home Cooked Spaghetti with Avocado.*** Simple to make serves 2-3. While Spaghetti is cooking: cut open 1 Avocado. Remove seed. Scoop out flesh into bowl that will accommodate the Cooked spaghetti. With fork: Mash to preferred consistency. Add 2-4 Tablespoons Butter. Add couple pinches of 'powdered/ground' cumin. Stir to blend. Drain cooked spaghetti... Getting as much liquid put as possible. Do Not rinse. Pour drained Spaghetti into bowl with the Avocado, Butter and Cumin. Stir enough to coat Spaghetti. Enjoy. (I did not add any additional salt because my water was well salted and it wasn't required. Taste before serving. Add a pinch or two of salt, or salt and black pepper if desire/need for a proper taste.)

✨COCONUT CURRY!✨ ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I received the most delicious Madras Coconut Curry Sauce in my @befreeco subscription box yesterday and this is how I turned it into a yummy #dairyfree lunch!✨ Roasted 1 sweet potato, 1 sweet onion, half a head of cauliflower and 1 yellow pepper. Put the jar of curry summer sauce into a pan. Added 1 package of extra form tofu, cubed, 1 cup frozen peas, and the roasted veggies. And then tasted it and realized it was a bit too spicy for the kids so I added a box of coconut milk! The other day I breaded some tofu and baked it in the oven. I broiled it on each side for a few minutes to just ensure it's nice and crisp on the outside. I also had a bunch of fresh mushrooms I needed to use up so I made this linguine. The left overs lasted me a few days. ANYWAYS - here’s the recipe of this chocolate chip pumpkin bread made with @lilys_sweets_chocolate .. . . . 1¾ cups flour I use all Spelt flour or 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour + 3/4 cup unbleached white ½ cup powdered sugar Use 2 tbsp more for sweeter ¼ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar or other sugar of choice 2¼ tsp baking powder ¼ tsp baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 11/2 tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp ginger, ¼ to ⅓ tsp nutmeg, ⅛ tsp cloves 4 tbsp chopped walnuts or pecans or omit to make nut-free 3 tbsp mini chocolate chips or craberries or currants Wet: 1 cup + 2 Tbsp pureed pumpkin not pumpkin pie mix ½ cup non dairy milk 3 to 4 Tbsp oil 1 tablespoon molasses or use maple syrup 1 tsp lemon juice pumpkin seeds or vegan mini chocolate chips for topping optional • Instructions Preheat the oven to 365 degrees F / 180ºc. In a large bowl, whisk the dry ingredients until well combined. Mix in the nuts and chocolate chips if using. *If your coconut sugar has large granules, pulse in a blender to grind to finer state and use. Add the wet ingredients and mix well. it will take a minute or 2 for the pumpkin puree to combine well. Mix until there are no pumpkin or flour streaks in the mixture. Add a tbsp more non dairy milk if needed. Transfer to a parchment lined or well greased and floured loaf pan. Top with chocolate chips or pumpkin seeds or a streusel of choice. One day I woke up and things that weren't important to me suddenly seemed like common sense concerns. We are raised to be aware of the resources we abuse. It is beat into our heads to recycle, turn off water while brushing our teeth, turn off lights when leave a room. Why aren't we taught that the biggest offender on or daily abuse of resources is eating meat? That paired with painting a picture that animals are treated great until they happily show up on our plates and are actually good for us, blows my mind. Furthermore, people don't want to know about it, they don't care. Maybe its a pride thing? Or maybe it's just pure laziness. I'm not perfect and I have goals for where I'd like to be but I appreciate anyone who is doing what they can to try to make a difference. The facts are that by consuming animal products you are contributing to a detrimental carbon footprint on the environment, the facts show that consuming meat contributes to a plethora of health problems, and we all refuse to watch the massive amounts of videos available about how animals are treated on cooperate farms and in slaughter houses. Recipe makes 20 falafels: For the falafel: 2 x 400g tinned chickpeas 1 cup coriander leaves 1 cup parsley leaves 1/2 tsp each of salt, pepper and paprika 2 cloves garlic 1 small onion 1/4 cup breadcrumbs 8 sun-dried tomatoes 1/2 cup olive oil for frying 1. Prepare ingredients by draining the chickpeas and sun-dried tomatoes, then roughly chopping the onion and garlic. It’s important you remove as much excess water from the chickpeas as possible. 2. Place all the falafel ingredients into a food processor and process until everything is roughly combined and easy to handle. Make sure you don’t process the mixture for too long, otherwise the falafel will fall apart when it’s frying. 3. Remove roughly a tablespoon of the mix and roll into a ball shape. Repeat until all the mix is used up. 4. Heat oil to a high temperature in a frying pan, then add all the balls and fry for 3 minutes on each side or until evenly golden brown. Unlike fossil fuels, it is difficult to look for alternatives: people have to eat. A substantial reduction of impacts would only be possible with a substantial worldwide diet change, away from animal products.” _ Professor Edgar Hertwich, the lead author of the report, said: “Animal products cause more damage than producing construction minerals such as sand or cement, plastics or metals. Biomass and crops for animals are as damaging as burning fossil fuels.” _ The recommendation follows advice last year that a plant-based diet was better for the planet from Lord Nicholas Stern, former adviser to the Labour government on the economics of climate change. _ The panel of experts ranked products, resources, economic activities and transport according to their #environmental impacts.
