Sweat stains galore 💦 I remember going to the gym 10 years ago feeling confused and overwhelmed with all the machines and weights. I grew up playing sports but after entering college, I became sedentary and lost the little bit of muscle I had. I wanted to get stronger but didn’t know where to start. I took a few group fitness classes, but outside of lifting light dumbbells with an instructor, I was totally clueless. I took some martial arts classes in college, and after practicing aerials after class one day, I tore my ACL. I fell into a deep depression after surgery because I was unable to move normally and my left leg was half the size of my right one. I gave up on fitness for awhile, besides the occasional Zumba class. A few years later, I discovered pole fitness and found a new level of confidence after seeing how much upper body strength I was gaining. I went from 0 to 10 pull ups, although it took a few years. Then, I started taking parkour classes and felt like a kid again 😃 I decided to get my NASM certification 2 years ago to learn how to train others because health and fitness are priceless 💚

Do you follow through? Im challenged with this EVERY SINGLE DAY. Following through. The last rep, last 15min, end of the week, end of that project, when you are exhausted its HARD. That’s actually when you change! I can promise you, if you can follow through just a little bit longer, it will make all the difference. If you don’t follow through in the gym or your nutrition I can almost bet it shows up in other areas of your life too. Start strong, finish strong. Its not easy, but its necessary if you want change. Whats harder following through in the gym or nutrition?

I taught with Nyla until I was 30 weeks (which is now less than 10 away— EEEEEEEEEEK). My inspo for you for the day— how the hell do YOU KNOW unless you try? I talk to so many people who immediately shoot themselves down. Stop playing yourself! Motivation and belief in yourself is not going to drop out of the sky, sister. You have to support yourself. Can’t workout from home because you don’t think you’re strong enough to resist the urge to clean their home.😂Bullshit excuse. Can’t meal prep because it seems too overwhelming (when it’s literally: buy food, cook food, put food in containers, eat food🤷🏾‍♀️.I always felt finding the recipes I wanted to try was the challenge, but now I have a library full) Can’t lift weights because you aren’t strong enough (I did my first workout program with five lb dumbbells and dropped 11 pounds that month) Can’t coach with me because you’re afraid you won’t have time (if you spend all day working a business, you’re either doing it wrong or overly passionate. I’m talking every waking minute) Can’t meditate because you can’t sit still (hellooooooo, one of the points of meditation is to help you LEARN that) I could go on and on, but every time you say you can’t do something? Most of you know that I am a mentor to fitness coaches and women who want to build a business simply getting fit and helping others (I have spots available going into 2019, click link in bio) but what you don’t see is the conversations I have leading up to women either joining or backing out due to fear . I share my story and my struggles so women can see that I am no different than they are. When I began coaching I wasn’t fit. I was just a girl who needed extra income on the side and I wanted to live a healthier life. My father and sister had both gotten the gastric sleeve and I didn’t want that for me . I knew coaching would help me stick to my journey bc I had a team of women supporting me. Women I talk to seem to think I was already fit or I have something they need before starting. Nope. Not the case . I was successful because I started. Not because of who I am . Same goes for anyone you admire. They are no different than you. We just took a chance on us then worked out asses off, got knocked down, and got back up over & over & over. We never quit . The secret to success in anything is to get up more than you’re knocked down. Work hard and don’t quit. The only end result is success when you’d rather die than give up. .
