My habits were all over the place.⁣ ⁣ 🏃🏼‍♀️ Get up and do fasted cardio to burn off the “bad” food.⁣ 🚨 Hit up the early class to burn those cals to earn my food daily.⁣ 🤦🏼‍♀️Eat super strict 90% of the time and then binge on cereal and all the carbs. (Carbs were bad any other time)⁣ 💀I feared missing the gym.⁣ 🙆🏼‍♀️If I wasn’t able to control my food and portions I’d freak out.⁣ 😕I thought if I didn’t aim for perfect I’d gain fat overnight.⁣ 😤If I was traveling I would be a natzi and just eat protein and veggies (very minimally)⁣ ⁣ Slowly but surely the awareness around my habits were becoming more apparent and brutally “unhealthy”.⁣ ⁣ Where did these thoughts come from?⁣ The stories I told myself..⁣ The story of doing CrossFit meant looking like the “others”.⁣ The story inside my head that to be a leader in the nutrition & fitness space I had to be shredded.⁣ The story that to get shredded I had to restrict & restrict (diet after diet then binge). *Thanks diet culture. ⁣ ⁣ False—-⁣ ⁣ I didn’t have to be the leanest or look like so & so to be fit or happy.⁣ I don’t have to be my leanest to be a leader in the nutrition & fitness space.⁣ I don’t have to restrict & binge to get the body I want.⁣ ⁣ I’m not my leanest right now but I’m my happiest with myself ever & creating the most impact yet.⁣ ⁣ I’ll take this body and energy every. damn. day. of the week! 💜🤘🏼⁣ ⁣ It’s all about that consistency.⁣

Not even kidding you... These shakes are getting me through the moments I crave chocolate, carbs, and sweets. Going through the full blown, fully focused, on point Nutrition part again IS NOT EASY for me!! I struggle with my relationship with food and give in too often to sweets, carbs, and simple over eating!! The shakes aren't why I lost the baby weight in the first place (I actually gained after losing still using them)... My Nutrition did that. What I put in, reflected what was on the outside. They do however, support my digestive system, replace my multivitamin, give all my needed pre & pro biotics, and supplement the nutrients I'm lacking though my normal food intake. They've given me so much energy and helped me curb cravings like crazy!! Plus, I can use it to make healthy snacks for my kiddos as well!! Do you think his enthusiasm would dwindle if he knew how incredibly healthy it really is?? He just loves that it tastes like ice cream or cake or cookies or a candy bar!!! 😁😆😋

Just so you can zen out🧘🏼‍♂️🧘🏽‍♀️ and worry less about “what are the best foods for me”, here are my top tips for making a complete meal💯✅. . 1️⃣Protein: rich sources are found across dairy🐄, meat/fish/poultry🍗🥩, eggs🥚, legumes and nuts🥜. The protein in this meal comes from an eggcellent source, alongside the quinoa which has a higher protein content than most other grains. . 2️⃣Slow release carbs: often whole grain varieties of rice, pasta, or brown bread with seeds. Heavy training days mean more carbs, and I aim to have a fist size at each main meal✊🏼🏋🏼‍♂️. Rest days I still include some carbs, just not as much are needed due to lower energy expenditure🤷🏼‍♂️. . 3️⃣Colour🌈: your meal isn’t complete without a pop of colour. Whilst it’s imperative to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Is it as simple as eat less and move more so? . In my opinion no.. . Everything we eat plays a role in the way our bodies function. For example. . Dietary Fats are vital for hormone synthesis, maintaining healthy cell structures and nervous system. With that the types of fat we eat can have pro or anti inflammatory effects on the body. . Carbohydrates primary function is to provide your body with energy. Whilst your body can produce energy from fats and protein through different pathways in certain circumstances, carbohydrates would be its preferred source. Certain carbohydrates can also provide prebiotic fibre which can help digestive health. . Protein then is important for producing enzymes for key chemical reactions in the body, helping our immune system, comprise hormones, aids in growth of tissues and with that can be a fuel source when glycogen is low. . The type of food you eat also offer an array of micronutrients which play numerous roles in the running of the body. . So whilst a calorie deficit will bring weight loss, there needs to be a lot more taken into consideration for fat loss (yes this is different to weight loss) and with that optimise health as everything you eat has a impact. . Add some color into your meal prep this week with this warm spicy slaw inspired by last weeks @misfitsmarket box What you need: Onion Red or green cabbage Carrots Jalapeño Red cherry pepper Coconut oil Sauté 1/2 and onion in 1 T of coconut oil.
