Good morning all ❤️ I hope Monday is finding you well. I loved this quote from @lawofattraction0 (worth a follow). We often forget how powerful we are. Being afraid to leave the house and doing it anyway (or whatever your personal battle is) is so difficult. The advantage is, if you can master that sort of power, once you conquer it, there's no stopping you. On another note, I didn't manage to post yesterday as I was busy meeting camels! I had a such a lovely day. We went to Camel Park Oasis with the kids. We played in the park, played crazy golf and crazy snooker, fed the animals and had the pleasure of getting up close to Callum the Camel. He was so beautiful❤️ I have a new love for camels lol Today is back to normality, popping to the doctors and trying to keep the kids occupied. Part of what I'm trying to do includes noticing things to look forward to each day. So today I'm looking forward to being able to spend the day with my kiddies (privileged!) and having a day off to relax. What are you looking forward to/thankful for about today? Discontented Noise: Wanting something different that has already happened won't change it. The wanting is what causes discontented noise and only when you don’t want to change the unchangeable will the mind settle. It's vital to understand what the discontented noise is if it's ever going to stop its incessant control. It may never quiet completely and that's ok because it's not about quiet so much as it is learning to live with the noise. You may say that I'm always talking about the mind settling and quietness and now I'm saying learn to live with the noise, but that's exactly the point. Learning to live with the noise is how the mind becomes quiet or at least somewhat settled. So many people try to quiet the mind and don't realize that is in and of itself noise. You will never quiet the mind, it's impossible, but things can be practiced that allows it to settle. The most important part of this is to understand every thought is noise, thoughts of love - noise, thoughts of hate - noise, positive thoughts - noise, negative thoughts - noise, everything is noise until the time comes that the noise is seen and you learn to live with it. Not wanting things different is quiet, but most want things as they want them and therein lies the discontented noise. Once something happens no amount of wanting it different will change it, so what can you do but establish a mindset that doesn't want it different. Or not and remain in the discontented noise that wants to change what is unchangeable. BEHIND THE SCENES ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It took me 3 years to finish my book and I’ve learned many lessons throughout that time. One of those lessons was photography. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In human life there are certain things we must do. These are not things we all must do collectively, more so things we need to do as individuals, to learn, to grow, to evolve in our own human form. Therefore, what we must do is matter of now, according to what we need to learn to be able to move past this now to the next one. ‘Must’ is a thing that changes from moment to moment, and for me, about 2 years ago, I felt called to take some pictures. Only I didn’t like it. Not one bit. For some reason, I felt the need to take as detailed pictures as possible, always crawling inside the bushes, getting stung by ants, plants, getting stuck, ripping my clothes. The hardest part though was having to pay attention to the world around me, to catch details worthy of being captured. To emerge your own consciousness in the world around you, and to lose yourself in doing so, is far from comfortable. At least that was what it was like for me, having to look outside my own inner world to see what lay beyond. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But it is necessary for us to be able to be our human selves. We must lose ourselves to be able to be ourselves. As uncomfortable as that lesson may have been, I think it’s one we all need to learn: part two of the first chapter of my book is all about the subject of self, consciousness, and the world beyond our selves.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can read more about this part of ‘To Be Human’ beneath my previous posts. We got new cars in at work! I was feeling real sexy in this Dodge Charger today! Last week I was super stressed. All I could focus on was negative. I was hating my job. I took two mental health days to refocus my energy and was blessed with a renewed clarity. I was anxious about returning today but I understood I was thinking too much ahead and worrying I would feel again what I felt before. I remembered to take it bit by bit, literally moment by moment and everything great happened and work was quite fun - starting with finding out we got new cars while I was gone. I started my day with a sunrise hike. The first mile I was struggling, out of breath, and thinking I don’t know if I can make it to the top. Then the sun began to rise an hour or so into the hike. . . Being able to watch the sun rise over the hills, slowly gracing the sky with its beautiful colors, the heat beginning to radiate my skin, gave me such a refreshing take on my life. Soaking in all the beauty and nature and energy of being present and one with myself. . . I was determined to make it to the top. Push through and feel accomplished. So thats what I did. I made it to the top, and made myself proud. . . I’m starting this week with my mind strong, my heart full, and my attitude full of positive energy and gratefulness. . . This week set yourself a short term goal, and do what it takes to accomplish it. Set your own pace and fight until the end. . . Fun in the kitchen this afternoon! I’m helping an awesome little man who has FPIES come up with some safe finger foods. In case you haven’t heard of it before, FPIES stands for food protein induced enterocolitis. It is a type of food allergy although it doesn’t cause hives/rash/anaphylaxis. It causes profuse vomiting after eating trigger foods (in Australia those foods are often rice, oats and chicken). As you can imagine that can make weaning feel pretty terrifying and hard. We’ve been slowly introducing veges and fruits with the guidance of a dietician and these beauties are peach quinoa muffins. They are free of all too 10 allergens and use only quinoa flour and potato starch given that rice is a definite trigger food. I’m feeling so excited to share these with his Mamma!!!
