A recent study in Switzerland on micronutrient status and intake in omnivores, vegetarians and vegans highlighted, amongst others, the requirement to ensure sufficient zinc and iodine intake, through food or supplements, if you are on a vegan/vegetarian diet (in fact most omnivores have been found to be deficient in iodine too,...). Elsewhere, vegetarians also showed high deficiency in vitamin B6 and niacin. Omnivores on the other hand had the highest deficiency in folic acid and comparatively low intake of vitamin c, e, amongst others.
