I have days where I’m all in my head, negative and just really down. It’s hard to shake sometimes, but then God gives me that wake up moment where I remember that what I do as a coach gets me to focus outwardly on OTHERS— and that’s where I get to see people I care about find more joy + energy + health and even find out amazing news like my girl Amy not having to get on cholesterol medicine— that’s only PART of her transformation unseen from the outside! . . I remember when Amy and I had our play dates and while I love her so much, her “eat like a kid” habits ran deep and at home workouts hadn’t been her thing or at least not piyo 😂 . . Now it makes my day to celebrate with her after her annual physical results. She’s down over 30+ pounds, has an energy and confidence with 2 girls that she didn’t have before and just feels good in her skin...And all while still having our favs 🍷 🧀 🍫 because it’s about a sustainable lifestyle of balance and simply adding in the nutrition our body craves! . . Is that inspiring or what?!! . . She’s without a doubt my #wcw along with my tribe who pours motivation on me when I’m feeling blue.... y’all know who you are! . . My beautiful daughter- just being herself. ☀️ There is more to life than being thin. There is more to life than being something to look at. There is more to life than being able to deprive yourself of Sugar, or gluten, or XYZ . It is great to love yourself. It is great to exercise and CELEBRATE what your body can do. It is GREAT to eat foods that make your body and mind feel great. It is great to breathe fresh air. It is great to stand in awe of something beautiful. It is great to be able to achieve a goal you have worked hard for. It is great to be able to enjoy your God-given life and those that are in it. So much of his world, and this Instagram world is full of perfectly posed pics that make you look thinner than you are, supplements to make you so you’re not hungry- which is a normal thing to feel, and so many other ways to make ya look like someone else, and make us feel like it’s still not good enough. I’m tired of the “want to enjoy the summer” manipulation. HELLO- you don’t have to look SKINNY to enjoy your life. You don’t have to be skinny to be in a family picture. #manifesting and #incometaxes ⠀⠀ Two years ago, before I even knew Rodan + Fields existed, I was doing my taxes and I kept thinking that I really needed to start my own small business. My first thought was to start a safety consulting business, being that I am a Health & Safety Professional but I was very wary because I was already so busy and didn't know how I could pull off all the work that traditionally goes into starting and building a business from the ground up. I knew I needed something that would add an addtional stream of income, that would enable me to have small business tax write offs but that was manageable and could fit into my already very hectic life. This seemed to be an impossible task, but I kept putting it out to the universe, asking for guideance and a way to make it happen. Less than a month later I got a call from Trula and immediately knew that this was the opportunity the universe was sending me. I saw the lucrative business potential right away but I wasn't sure that I was capable of doing it, some days I am still not 🤣. ⠀⠀ There were a lot of things that intrigued me and a lot that I was surprised to learn. One of which was that the products were actually originally sold in high-end department stores, in fact they were #1 in Nordstrom, before RF strategically pulled out from retail and entered the e-commerce world. Another thing was that I could work it as much, where and when It worked for me and it’s completely run online, i.e not party based. Which meant No geographical limits, No shipping, No inventory, and No minimum quotas etc... I had never even tried the products, but she had told me how much they were helping her and her customers and since the business kits also come with the 60-day empty-bottle guarantee I figured even if I didn’t like it or the products, I could always return it. I decided to put some faith in myself and learn along the way. I joined the next day and had a short, “what did I just do” moment that night. 🤣 but I knew what it could do for me and my family and once my kit came and I tried the products I knew I made the right decision. Three exercises to help kick up your core training that don't involve planking because let's face it...#planking gets old very quickly! • If these variations are too challenging for you then simply remove the band and do them without it. The non-band variations are some great ways to get back into #frontloadedexercises postpartum as well. • I like the banded variations for those of us women who live in the ribs thrusted up and pelvis tipped forward position because the pulling from behind on the band causes us to have to get into more neutral alignment which better core activation...yay!!! • EMOM (Every Minute On The Minute) For 12 Minutes: • 1st Minute: Banded Hover Hold :30 seconds • 2nd Minute: Banded Opposite Hand and Foot Lift :30 seconds • 3rd Minute: Banded Forward and Backward Bear Crawl :30 seconds • And so on... “The scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love.” ⁣ -Steve Maraboli⁣ ⁣ The first time I purchased a scale was when I was expecting my eldest. It was also at the same time I began to have body image issues.⁣ ⁣ I never obsessed about being an ideal weight or fussed about my food choices. When I became pregnant, I began to focus on my weight and it magnified when negative comments from others reinforced the developing internal comments.⁣ ⁣ My body image deteriorated. It was about 10 months postpartum with my eldest where I knew I needed to change my internal dialogue and break up with the scale.⁣ ⁣ How I reshaped my internal dialogue:⁣ 💪I looked at myself in the mirror and paid my body a compliment in the area where I was disgusted the most(it may sound strange but this was tough)⁣ 💪Anytime my mind wanted to go negative, I remembered my goal, my why, my reason for my health & fitness. ⁣ 💪I allowed myself to struggle and fail so I could learn how to be stronger.⁣ 💪I stepped out of my comfort zone to reaffirm my confidence in myself.⁣ 💪I made peace with the negativity and let it go ⁣ 💪I stopped making excuses for my choices, my actions or lack of action. ⁣ 💪I let go of everything that did not align with my goals.⁣ ⁣ Changing your body image isn’t easy but when you begin to make changes you find peace, strength, and confidence that will set you free.⁣ ⁣ If you are ready to make a change, send me a message at kat@kat.fit

Have you or someone you know ever struggled with mental health? This is an issue that most people are afraid to tell others about when walking through it. I know for me personally, it was extremely hard and lonely when I had postpartum depression 👶🏻 after having my daughter, Harper. Whatever the issue is, I think it’s so important that we tell our stories! 🗣 You never know how it may help someone else who is struggling. ———————————————————————- ‼️For the month of May, I am so PROUD to tell you that the Color Street Foundation focus is mental health awareness. This time around, we’re doing things a little differently than we have before, and are partnering with 2️⃣ fantastic organizations that help provide resources and early intervention for young people who are at risk or suffering from mental health issues. Not the prettiest of squat snatches. Its getting harder for me to squat and "go around the world". But i do what i can for the time being... The past couple years have been nuts with joining the military and not being able workout all the time, my snatches have severely lacked in progress. Ive been stuck at a 70lb snatch for over a year and a half because of form. FINALLY today i was able to get 80lbs. Some of you might laugh because its not alot of weight. Every time, before a workout, I’ll do some sort of cardio to get my muscles warm before I start lifting. This will help to avoid any kind of injury. I see you momma. You think you’ve lost your identity but you haven’t. It is hidden. So the question is, how do you retrieve it? Making time for YOU doing what makes YOU happy. How can we expect to give the best of ourselves if we’re not taking care of ourselves. He said to me, “If this isn’t making you happy, then this is not your outlet. You used to read books and write.” And my response to him was, “I don’t have time.” It is true. TIME. It is everything. We don’t know what to do with it when we have too much of it and we miss it when we don’t have enough. You have to MAKE the time. You’ll see that it’ll be worth it. And you’ll thank yourself.

Today was a 3 mile run. The hubby blew the breaker when I was about 2.6 miles in. I wanted to quit when that happened but I finished it up.

I honestly worked myself up for this workout for a while now.. for the past 6 weeks I’ve been doing a 20 minute workout a day (sometimes adding more, but committing to the 20) . I was scared for today’s hour workout. . But here I am.. I did it, I survived! I am a sweaty mess, but it feels so good to have accomplished it! One more day tomorrow and the program is done 🔥💪🏻 . . A LITTLE MORE • each day I add in a “challenge” sometimes it’s not big, it’s often just a small “extra” to push myself, beyond the expectation. Push my mind a body a little more. Today’s challenge was doing 2+2 when 2+1 was programmed for my top sets at 95kg. .
