I love it when moves look simple enough, but light you up 🔥🔥!! The last move with the lego blocks—I mean ☠️. I already hate legos because I trip over them all the time. Now I hate them for another reason. If you have a yoga block...that would be the more professional exercise tool for that move...but, well, #momlife. 1️⃣Leg Hold—do a max hold with your leg at about 45 degrees. When you fatigue then go straight into the... 2️⃣Pulse—pulse leg up and down until fatigued. Keep core tight and remember to breathe throughout. Think about keeping your low back flat and ribs down throughout. 3️⃣ Single Leg March—tie a band to a rig and get to pulling. The subtle movement really works the psoas as you pull the knee toward chest and past that 90 degree angle. 4️⃣Double Leg March—move slow and with control. Keep back flush with ground. Lift head for more #core engagement or place down on ground for less. If you have diastasis recti #postpartum, be aware of your core and ditch the head lift. 5️⃣Leg Lift—grab a yoga block, ball, or anything really. Keep chest tall. No leaning back when lifting the leg. What I’m Eating 80 Day Obsession Edition : Woke up this morning feel a little rough, turns out I’m old and can’t hang. 😂😂 I think what it really is the fact that this program has really shown me just how good I CAN feel so now when I have an off day, I feel it even more. Did some shopping today and I thought about going live to share this haul with you guys but just in case you guys want what I bought, I made a list! You’ll see me reference Walmart a couple times, I just happened to be there today. I usually go to Weis. Dying to try Aldi’s though! 🥩 = Ground Turkey (for meatballs for meal prep lunches!), Individually Packaged Chicken, Pot Roast, Turkey Bacon and Smoked Sausage. I like my sausage to be nitrite free and it’s supposed to be for the plan BUT I was at Walmart and this was the best I could find. Even better than shopping here though would be an Amish meat market. Technically the Eggs and Greek Yogurt go in this category too. I can’t get with plain yogurt. Nutritionally, this one is my favorite for flavor. 🍅 🌽 = Butternut Squash for slow cooker soup, Spinach, Tomatoes, Baby Carrots, Onions, Asparagus and Cabbage. I’m making a veggie slaw so this is my first time really cooking with cabbage. 🍌 🍎 = Bananas and Unsweetened Applesauce. I already had a ton of apples. I’m pretty simple here. 🍞🥖= Sweet Potatoes, Whole Grain English muffins and bread. I prefer Sprouted Grain and it’s actually supposed to be for 80 DO but again shopping at Walmart problems... 🥛🧀= Kerrygold Butter, Sharp White Cheddar Cheese and Almond Milk. I like many of the healthy creamer options but lately this one has been my fave - Left Field Farms. I follow the meal plan 90% of the time so I don’t feel guilt with my coffee. Earth Balance Soy Free Butter (in the pink container is the BEST but Walmart doesn’t carry it so I get this when I go there.) 🥜 = Almonds and Pumpkin Seeds. 🥫= I’m obsessed with Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning BUT I am never on that end of State College. This seasoning from Walmart is Sea Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic and Lemon Peel and it tastes super similar! That’s It!

Well, this is embarrassing. For a good portion of the day yesterday, I thought it was Friday. Wishful thinking and a non-sleeping, teething toddler could have been the cause. Regardless, I treated yesterday as a rest day when it should have been a five mile tempo run according to the Marathon training schedule. So I knocked that out this morning! Had to be careful, it was still pretty icy. Did the first half of the run in my Newton's. Holy different muscle group Batman! My shins and calves were on fire! I'm curious when I'll be used to them. I was noticably faster in them. Like a huge amount. Almost a full minute. I'm going to stick with them and hope my muscles adapt fast. Glad I had my @shoe_hoodies - warm toes means happy feet! Now I need a pair for my new orange Newton's!

I’ve been stuck inside with the rain the past two days- and even though I said I would go to the gym when @tmorley8 comes home from work- let’s face it, it isn’t going to happen on a day like today when all you want to do is snuggle and stay inside for #babycuddles . It’s not glamorous. It takes a lot of dedication, time, sweat, sacrifice to make dreams reality. I lose motivation and some days when I look at my schedule think I can skip on a workout and be fine. Truth is I will be fine, but I don’t want to be fine. I want to go into Boston knowing I gave it my all!

#flashbackfriday to the Falmouth Road Race…. I was tagged by @raisinggrace_ and tagged a few others to share a favorite running photo and join in answering these questions! . 🏃🏻Coastal path or mountain trail? I have never done a mountain trail run but would love to! I love a good coastal path though so would have to go with that :) . 🏃🏻Flavor of gel? @endurance_tap !!! It is the only thing that agrees with my stomach and I love them! Made such a difference in my marathon training . 🏃🏻Training plan or go with the flow? I need a plan! I usually end up moving things around quite a bit based on what fits my schedule and other races but I need that framework to help keep me focused! . 🏃🏻Favorite type of run? The long run! Last marathon training cycle was the first time building speedwork into the long run and I loved it. I was scared going into those runs but felt so confident and accomplished afterwards! . 🏃🏻I won’t run without...: I don’t need much! I do most of my running without music but I do need my Garmin! I love looking at the stats/splits afterwards. . 🏃🏻Shorts or capris? Shorts! Although I might need to invest in some larger ones to get me through these last few months haha! . 🏃🏻Favorite race? Falmouth Road Race! I ran this for the first time last August and LOVED it. Bill Rodgers started literally shoulder to shoulder with me and @laut918 and we got to see Joan Benoit Samuelson warming up (so fast!). I kept thinking it was like a mini Boston - the crowds and course were amazing, but it’s a lot shorter! ;) The second picture is from Boston’s Run to Remember and my second favorite bc it was my first race after baby #2! I went into the race with zero expectations, and although I went out too fast and it wasn't a smart race, I PRed by over 10 minutes! I was shocked and for the first time thought I had a shot at a BQ. I started to believe maybe my idea of how fast or slow I was was just a limit I was putting on myself! 🏃🏻Race you’d like to relive? Via Lehigh Valley! I went into the race with “I can and I will" on my arm in sharpie and proved a lot to myself!

Crushing my February #goals and right on track for #1000milesin2018. I wanted to get 75 miles in this month but I’m so close to 💯‼️ 8 more miles to go, pretty sure I can do it. Pretty psyched I’m 150+ miles YTD. I’m really thankful for the #2018goldchallenge , I’m achieving things I never thought I’d be able to do. I was never athletic as a kid, 10 years ago I could barely run 1/4 mile without wanting to die. I recently had a reflexology session and the lady asked if I was an athlete. Never thought of myself as that but it’s a new awesome way to describe myself. After all the persistence and consistency, I finally have a sport that I can do really well, an outlet to my stress, something I Love to do, actually an obsession. Biggest thing I’m proud to say is that I’m finally a NON smoker. Sure, I quit but it was a constant struggle to fight the urge & cravings. I used to be jealous of people smoking. Stupid, I know. Now, the mere thought or whiff of a cigarette turns my stomach. 🤢 I’d rather have to get a knee or hip replacement than a lung replacement.
