BURNING FAT VS BUILDING MUSCLE by @jmaxfitness - I originally got this post from @syattfitness but there was too much pizza and Unicorn blood, so I had to give it the #jmaxfitness flair. - If you want to build muscle, prioritize strength training. Muscle is built in the gym, but it's repaired in the kitchen. Make sure you're eating enough to support growing 1-2lbs per month. - If you're only gaining fat and not building muscle, try increasing the volume (number of sets and reps). Don't get too fat though! If your 6-pack becomes a 4-pack, your bulk is over. - For fat loss, it's simple. Eat to lose fat. Train to build muscle. Add a bit of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to help increase your metabolism. Lean, strong and fast. - New 5 day training split is well underway now, still not completely set in stone as im always trying new things, but I have taken a step back from the traditional split I was hitting which was great for aesthetics but shit for almost everything else. - Still hitting 2 upper and 1 lower body session per week but with 2 added functional/strength day with every session finishing with some sort of ruthless burn out, such as battle ropes, tyre flips or incline sprints. Carbs are also lowered to about 250g. Feels good to see some definition and feel fit again 💪🏽 - #jbtraining

Those damn pistol squats are still evading me 😂 but these single-leg squats with the #trx are still killer! ✨ Hold the TRX handles at about chest height, tighten your core, and find your balance on one leg to begin. As you lower, keep your weight in the back/center of your standing foot, allowing your raised leg to hover and slide forward. Then push through your foot and squeeze your bum to come back to standing, and try to use the TRX just for balance rather than to pull yourself up. These will get your legs burning FAST🔥 and even works your raised leg and abs at the same time! 👍 ✨ Include these in your leg day routine for some serious quad and booty work! ✨ Happy Wednesday! 💕
