HOW TO BUILD BIG TRAPS by @jmaxfitness - Want to look huge? Big traps is the way to go. Just check out Tom Hardy when he played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises and you'll see for yourself. - Here's what most people do when they try to build their traps: do too many shrugs and lateral raises once per week. While this might lead to some growth, you make much more progress if you do the following: - Get stronger in the deadlift or rack pull. I've never met a guy with small traps who could deadlift over 400lbs. With big deadlifts comes big traps. It's just the way life works. On top of this, farmer carries are another great exercises for the traps. Work your way up to 200lbs per hand for 20 yards. Lastly, train your traps more frequently. This means deadlifting and farmer carries 2-3x per week. - Focus on adding strength, and your traps will grow. 3 Keys to Muscle Growth by @musclemonsters . Building muscle is far from easy – it takes discipline, dedication, and persistence – but it’s not complicated. In fact, it’s actually quite simple… . If you can manage to eat enough calories to support growth, consume enough protein (so you can synthesis more than you’re breaking down), train consistently, and make steady progress in the gym, you’ll have NO problem building muscle mass. . Sure, this is a bit of an oversimplification, but you get the point. Too often we fret over whether or not we’re taking the right supplements, lifting in the right rep range, moving the weight at the right tempo, or whether or not we’re on the most “optimal” plan… but those are all secondary variables. . I don’t care what supplements you take or how slow you perform each rep, if you’re not eating enough, getting sufficient protein, and progressing in the gym, then nothing else is going to help you. Conversely, if you’re eating in a surplus, getting 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight, and gradually increasing total work in the gym, you’ll build muscle even on the shittiest of programs.
