"Last year I made a decision that it was time to get my health and wellness back on track after years of not being in control of my mind, feelings or emotions at all. 3.5 years in fact, of being on antidepressants. I originally went on them to assist with depression and anxiety that I had had for years. Back then I didn’t know what I do now about western medicine and pharmaceuticals, or know the power of a holistic approach to health and wellness. I was presented with the fruit and veg capsules by a girl I had met a few months back, whom I trusted. We had a call and I signed up straight away, I had a good feeling about them and thought I would at least get back the energy I lacked, as well as my general well-being. About four weeks into the capsules I decided it was time to come off the antidepressants, as I knew they didn’t align with me anymore. I began the process of weaning myself off them, which I think took about 6 weeks all up, as I allowed my body to get up to speed with the changes properly. My energy came back completely in full swing around this time, I had forgotten what it felt like to not drink 3 cups of coffee a day to survive, as well as my skin clearing up completely after years of trying all of the recommended skin products and having them all fail. I also no longer wear makeup everyday after hiding behind it my whole life. 🙏 Then one day whilst I was on holidays, I forgot to take the antidepressants at all. I didn’t even realise for 7 days either, so I took that as my subconscious deciding it no longer needed them. So I kept going, even when the withdrawals started to kick in. And that was 4 months ago! 🙌🏻 I think the biggest lessons I’ve learnt since then, is how to control any forms of anxiety that come up with different breathing techniques, as well as knowing how to get myself out of any ‘depressed’ state I might find myself in with movement, being present a

The last couple days I've been experiencing noticable hayfever symptoms. I sometimes just get a bit of an itchy throat and nose sometimes but yesterday the itch was real, blocked sinuses and I had chest tightening (I'm prone to asthma). These are the things I've been taking which have been working so amazingly! Thyme tincture as an expectorant to help clear the mucus and to also help open the airways and make it easier to breath. I believe that everything that happens to us is an opportunity for growth. The good, bad and the ugly. Its the toughest times in our lives that require the most character. I went from feeling indestructible and fantasising about being an elite athlete to no longer being able to run across the road without being in pain. If it wasn’t for that injury I wouldn’t be where I am today or know the things I do. My injury ended up paving a whole new path for me, but I had to walk down it. If I had accepted defeat all those years ago, I don’t even want to think how miserable my life would be. Instead, I look at life with endless opportunity. I look at my body as a gift and a blessing and most of all, I know that I can heal from ANYTHING. If I do the work.

KEEP IT SIMPLE . At the weekend I attended a gastrointestinal health conference. Learning all about the latest testing and protocols for IBS and gastro problems. What struck me most about the day was less the advances in our understanding of IBS, but more that every time it kept coming back to simple and not expensive remedies. . 1. Chew your food! Your digestive tract doesn’t have teeth and so your teeth need to do the work. Sit down to eat and be mindful of slowing down and chewing your food properly. 2. Lower stress. If we are stressed it alters our gut microbiome and lowers the pH of our stomach - both of which cause problems in the digestion and absorption of our food. Type A personalities have the most difficulty following mindfulness exercises. But try deep and slow breathing before you consume a meal. 3. Eat more vegetables. I know we go on about this. But it really is important. Vegetables are packed with good fibre that help to act as food for our microbiome. As Ben Brown said, while our genetics take a long-time to adapt - our microbiome adapts after every meal. 4.
