Five Things Friday { 📷 : @kylemartinx } 1. Drowning in metalsmithing ideas over here, my fingers can’t move quick enough, send help… or a time-turner! 2. “The violets in the mountains have broken the rocks.” A quote I keep tucked in my sweater pocket. 3. The moss greens, slate blues, and soft browns of the northeastern United States informs my aesthetic like little else. But lately, the pinks and siennas and endless blues of the Midwest have been calling me. How would my work shift by being surrounded by those colors? What would my hands be pulled to make? Would warm copper accents begin to creep into my work until everything was bursting with the colors of the desert? I want to know. 4. The past few days, the sky has been full of geese flying overhead, moving swiftly before the warmth of summer leaves their feathers. Do you ever feel so full of verve and joy that such a thing as migration exists that you could run wildly down a hill, push air beneath your arms, and kick off the ground to join them? Me too… 5. I just cracked open “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt, and oh friends, I could not have chosen a better time of year to read this book. Ivy covered university towers, whispering in stone hallways, toxic intellectualism, and *dun dun dun* murder most foul. I am going to relish every moment of this book, I can just tell.
