Meet Dr. Lisa Parsons, our lead psychiatrist and addiction specialist, in "What the Food?" film! In her career, Dr. Parsons has built upon her knowledge of psychiatry and addiction. With her experience in medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Parsons branched out to new horizons in Phoenix, Arizona. At this location, she worked at Banner Thunderbird Hospital on the medical floors of the psychiatric ER and in-patient psychiatry. After her time in Phoenix, Dr. Parsons moved to Prescott where she is currently the Medical Director of the Reflections Recovery Center and Northern Center, which is the largest community mental health center in the Prescott community. Dr. Parsons spends her time at the mental health center helping those affected by addiction. Her treatment-focused approach is centered on the biological contributions for both addiction and psychiatric disorders. While encouraging a positive life change for those who need help, Dr. Parsons contributes tremendously to our team and our theme of treating addiction with food choices in "What the Food?" #whatthefoodfilm

No, vegans don't just eat salads but when they do, they dress it up real good. Homemade lemon cashew dressing: 1/2 cup filtered water, 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil, 1/2 cup raw unsalted cashews soaked and drained, 4 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1/2 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp Himalayan pink salt. Throw everything into the blender and blast until creamy and smooth. I topped the salad (baby spinach) with spiralized carrots and cucumbers. Healthy ingredient collection in a bowl = best salad to kick off the day. Super easy if your fridge contains healthy ingredients like veggies or nuts - just throw everything into a bowl, drizzle some high quality olive oil and chew slowly. I love variety of ingredients 5-6 or even more in one salad. This restaurant is a must! When in Tahoe, check out Simple Bliss Vegan Cafe. All organic, vegan, gluten free and soy free!! Everything made fresh with the best ingredients. Milky rice made from almond milk is great for snack as well as for breakfast. I absolutely love it, you can make it sugar free and lacto free and it's so much better then any of those you can find in the shop.Unsweetened version is perfect even for little ones. My 10 months old baby girl loves it, but true is she loves the fruit more than the rice 🙈🙂 Včerejší mléčná rýže měla úspěch. Dělám ji v neslazeném mandlovém mléce, někdy tam ke konci vaření cvrnknu trošičku kravského mléka jen pro dodání krémovosti. Neslazenou verzi s ovocem pak klidně dám naší holčičce a chutná jí to, včera ale měly větší úspěch ty ostružiny. Ty jí hrozně chutnaly a pak mně je rozpatlala na světlé rifle.(máš se převlíct mámo!) Používám krátkozrnnou nebo kulatozrnou rýži(jakoukouliv rýži vhodnou na rizoto nebo paelu, ta se krasne rozvaří a vtáhne to mleko). Nám dospělým přidám ještě trochu medu, skořice, ořechů.
