Eating for Volume 🥗✅ - When you are in a dieting phase the best thing you can do is eat high Volume foods! These foods are low in calories but high in volume with more bang for buck (fill you up). Foods like this allow us to feel satisfied after a meal and make the dieting process easier. 😊 I always say to my clients.. Macros are like a bank account. It’s up to you how you spend your money. I encourage them to eat 80% whole foods and 20% “fun” foods. This allows them to have more flexibility in their diet and ultimately allows for compliance. At the end of the day if you hate what your eating.. you are not going to be compliant. The key rule to achieve fat loss is that you have to remain in a calorie deficit. You need to be eating enough protein and hitting your fibre goal daily for results. - When it comes to Volume foods it’s all about trial and error to see which foods are the best value! You are going to have to be reading nutritional labels and starting to understand them. Dieting doesn’t have to be hard though. Sure, at the start it’s going to be a learning experience but that’s the same as anything new! What if you could have complete control over what your eating and see results? What if you could take the guesswork out of it? Dinner was easy and tasty tonight. I roasted broccoli and red onion in the oven (400 for 15 minutes) until browned. I chopped some kale into small pieces and pan fried in some avocado oil and three chopped garlic for about 3 minutes. Once that was done I added some lemon juice and some salt. Also served a grass fed kielbasa. Spicy Cauliflower Soup Cauliflower has many health benefits . It’s naturally high in fiber and B-vitamins. It provides antioxidants and phytonutrients that are believed to protect against cancer. It also contains fiber to enhance weight loss and digestion, choline that is essential for learning and memory, and many other important nutrients. Personally I love cauliflower and eat it raw, roasted, boiled, as cauliflower rice and in cauliflower buns (though they usually turn out more like cauliflower hash 🤣) This is a really simple soup recipe which is a winter favourite of mine. You need: 💚1 small cauliflower 💚500mls vegetable stock 💚200mls coconut cream 💚a generous teaspoon of garam masala 💚a pinch of cayenne pepper 💚salt and pepper to taste Just put everything in a pan or thermomix, bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 mins until the cauliflower is soft. Someone made a comment whilst rubbing my cheeks how much fuller I am these days. Though it rubbed me the wrong way a bit (and the fact that I just came on my period), I am comfortably uncomfortable in my body right now. I’ve made a point to measure myself based on what is going on in my life, how secure, peaceful, confident, strong and grounded I feel. And thank goodness, in the past I probably wouldn’t eat for the rest of the day feeling really upset, instead I am sitting in my bloated ness state, eating my home made Thai curry after catching up with an old Friend about to Netflix and Chill my Sunday. It’s reaffirmed me how important important it is to define health and progress based on perhaps what is more unquantifiable measurement than the scales or numbers.

MIDDLE EASTERN INSPIRED CAULI SALAD 🌿 ⭐️ save this recipe! ⭐️ ⠀⠀ Perfect as an appetizer or with fish as a main meal! Serves ✌️ people 😋 ⠀⠀ 🔹What you need: ⠀⠀ For the salad: * ½ cauliflower head, cut into florets * 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil * 1 tbsp zaatar * ½ cup parsley, roughly chopped * 35 g (¼ cup) chopped roasted almonds * ½ pomegranate, seeds removed, plus extra quarters, to serve ⠀⠀ You have 2 dressing choices: LEMON OIL GARLIC (pictured) * 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil * 2 tbsp lemon juice * 1 garlic clove, crushed * Pinch of salt ⠀⠀ TAHINI LEMON (another option) * 60 g (¼ cup) tahini * 2 tbsp lemon juice * 2 tbsp Greek-style yoghurt * 1 garlic clove, crushed ⠀⠀ 🔹What to do: ⠀⠀ 1 Preheat oven to 200ºC. Flourless chocolate cake - dairy free and delicious. . 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 * 8 ounces dark chocolate - the darker the healthier (but also less sweet). I used #huchocolate 70% dark chocolate (my favorite brand!!) * 6 TBSP Ghee (you can use coconut oil/or butter) * 6 large pasture raised eggs (separate egg white and yolks) * 1/2 cup coconut sugar/ swerve * 1/2 tsp espresso powder . 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 * Preheat oven to 300 * Butter 9” pan * Add chocolate and ghee/butter to a glass bowl and melt over a double broiler m, stirring until fully melted (or use a microwave). Let cool to room temperature. * Beat the egg whites and slowly add the sugar while beating until you reach a stiff peak foam. * Add the egg yolks and the coffee to the chocolate mix and stir together. * Gently mix 1/3 cup of the egg white mixture to the chocolate, then fold the remaining egg whites, trying not to deflate the mixture too much. * Pour the batter in the pan and bake for 45 minutes. The cake will raise, but deflate once cooled. A personal series of self-portraits.... I feel this, shift, this transition happening within me. The end of something, and yet, just the beginning of something else. In the last six & a half years, I have grown and birthed 3 children. I’ve breastfed those 3 children, constantly, one after the other, as each new baby came. I have given my body, my soul, my emotions, my everything, over to motherhood. Before I got pregnant with my first, I was dancing three times a week. I could prepare food & eat it in a more relaxed and enjoyed state. I slept. I felt in tune & strong. Pregnancy & motherhood changed that. And time. In one way I feel stronger, but in another it’s almost as if that’s just been the face of survival, pretending it’s strength. Over the past few months, I’ve been bogged down by ‘piriformis syndrome’ a stressed out muscle, deep within my butt, that is very close and pushes up against the sciatic nerve, causing extreme pain. It slows me down. Makes me feel weak. I was then hit with another curve ball, a few weeks ago, slowing down my body even more, cause me to feel even more out of control. That’s been on the way up the last few days, and it’s coming out of that unexpected happening, that has gotten me into this train of thought: it’s time to take control of my body again. Treat it how it needs to be treated. Empower it. Strengthen it. Feed it. Nourish it. Get back to me. My soul has been nourished with the many passions I get to pursue, but if my body isn’t in line with that same type of nourishment, then nothing can truly be enjoyed. So why photos? Why share all this? Because I believe sharing our stories, our journeys can help others. Help them feel as if they aren’t alone. To know there are others out there going through something similar. And I also believe that partaking in any sort of creative outlet is a wonderful way to express emotions & one’s stories. I am open. I am raw. I am real. And I am a photographer. So here I am, sharing my story. Sharing my art. And I’m ready to empower myself again. Take control of my body. Taking these photos helped me take that first, little step. Who else is ready for that first step too? #empowered

"Chocolate is a six-phase polymorphic crystal, meaning that when it is melted it can recrystallize six different ways." When I first started counting macros, I was all, ”you mean I can eat anything I want as long as I stay within my macros?!” Over the years I’ve evolved from an “if it fits your macros” then eat it mindset, to noting and caring more about how food makes me FEEL and PERFORM. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of the occasional treat meal, because that’s life, but I have also fallen in love with NOURISHING my body with plenty of whole, minimally processed and nutrient dense foods. I was always unhappy about the way I looked or how I felt in my body, I think I was on diets for as long as I can remember, that never ended well! I starved myself then added hours of cardio to the mix because I knew no better. Cherry PB smoothie bowls 🍒 High in protein and healthy fats 👌🏼 These bowls are made from frozen dark cherries, frozen banana and vanilla protein powder! Topped with a big scoop of peanut butter and hemp hearts. I always make sure to balance out my smoothie bowls with a good amount of fats and protein, to make a more balanced and satiating meal!

Awesome recipe by @annekaeats. Follow her for more recipes. 🍄 2 cups mushrooms or 3 sausages - cut into bite sized pieces You can also supercharge this recipe with medicinal mushrooms. Add 2 tsp of @pureshrooms Organic Lion’s mane. 1/2 red onion - diced 3 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp garlic and herb seasoning 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp chili powder 1 12 ounce can of roasted red peppers 1 28 ounce can of diced tomatoes Salt and pepper to taste 5 eggs 1/2 cup feta cheese crumbles Cook the mushrooms or sausage in a cast iron pan in olive oil. Add onions & seasoning, then cook for 7-10 minutes. Drain the roasted red peppers, then puré them and add to cast iron pan. Then add the tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper, then cook over medium heat until the liquid reduces (about 15 minutes). Make 5 little holes & crack the eggs into each whole. Sprinkle everything with feta and cook until eggs whites are set.

What’s your absolute favorite dessert? Mine are, without a single doubt in my heart, BROWNIES. Gooey, fudgey, brownies, like the ones you make from the ghirardelli box mix & tip with vanilla ice cream 🤤 . I finally realized a few years ago that sugar was exasperating a lot of my hormonal issues especially around my cycle aka the best time to have brownies. It seemed that even the paleo recipes I’d try would ask for 1-2 cups of maple syrup which really were not much less sugary & really didn’t taste AT ALL like gooood brownies. No cake brownies for me 🙅‍♀️ . After maybe 7 years of trial & error & every black bean, sweet potato, coconut flour brownie recipe out there, I’ve somehow landed on the BEST brownie recipe I think I’ve ever had 😭 . Adapted ever so slightly from @lowcarbspark 🙏 . the BEST Fudge BROWNIES I’ve ever had ✨ 20 (2 oz) cacao disks or 2 oz of your favorite chocolate bar 1/2 cup cacao powder (or 1/4 cup almond flour) 1/2 c almond flour 2 eggs *must be room temp* 1/4 c lakanto 6 T coco oil 6T butter Sea salt 2 T Maca (optional) 1/2 T baking powder Melt the butter/coco oil, lakanto (if using a liquid sweetener like honey or maple, wait to add in when the dry ingredients are added at the very end & sweetener must be at room temp!) & cacao together in a double broiler or at 30 second intervals in the microwave. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl & set aside. Beat eggs in a large bowl & slowly add in cacao mix while mixing. Once combined, slowly mix in dry ingredients. Pour into glass square pan & bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Store at room temp for up to 3 days or allow to set in fridge overnight & store for 1 week ✨
