Got a great pump today! Had the gym to myself for almost 90min until people starts showing up! With no waiting time, I did more then usual! . Pump harder. Life heavier. . Totally torn several parts of my muscle, they are pretty sore and damn I love how my body look right after pumping! It's a shame the pump doesn't last long after cooling down. Whayaahahhaha! . . I want to encourage you to focus on eating more real food, emphasizing a plant-based diet. Now that doesn't have to mean no meat 🙅‍♀️ in my world plant-based means 70-80% plant based with some good quality meat, and ideally at least 1 meat free day each week. When you shift your focus to looking at all the foods you can eat regularly opposed to all the foods you can't eat regularly this can really help to shift your focus to a healthier way of eating and living. If you do struggle to eat less refined foods, for example sugar, eating more greens 🌱 (rocket, silverbeet, kale, spinach) can help burn your desire for sweet foods, since the bitter nature of the greens helps shift your preferences. It takes time to develop new taste buds but they can change in a matter of weeks (trust me, I used to be addicted to sugar 🙊so know how hard it is to give up). Eating this way is also one of the ways you show yourself that you care about yourself. Your daily protein needs depend on factors such as your weight and how much muscles and lean mass you have. With a body composition measurement you can determine your protein needs - 1-2g of protein per kilogram of lean body mass (0.5-1g per pound). . If you don't have to body composition analysis, you can estimate your needs based on your current body weight - Not a perfect method but gives you a reasonable daily target. 1⃣ Kilograms: Body weight x 1.5 2⃣ Pounds: Body weight x 0.7 . With a rough idea, simply estimate how much you're eating. If you're a woman aiming for 100g/day of protein, you can easily take 25g at each meal and have a couple of protein snacks. A male aiming for 150g a day, simply double up your protein unit at a couple meals to hit your target. . . We require hydration to remain alive. We also require adequate hydration to optimise our functions. You will have heard many, many times that you should be drinking at least 2 litres of water per day. This is purely a guide to remain hydrated. - - To claim that staying hydrated is a struggle is a false claim. Because you manage stay hydrated every single day. You perhaps just choose to hydrate on liquids which contain water and other ingredients with calories. - - What’s actually going on here is a self-persuasive bullshitting regarding the actual logistics of acquiring water and consuming it for the liquid it is. In your head, 2 litres of water has become the equivalent of a despairing lake of grotesque drivel. You cannot comprehend it. ‘Hydration is hard’ etc... - - Meanwhile, you galavant around with a couple of latte’s. You sip back some orange juice at your desk. A ‘healthy’ smoothie because you’re a hipster trying to lose weight. Maybe a soft drink over dinner? A couple of wines to take the edge off of a tough day. 2 litres of liquid consumed with ease. 1280 calories later. - - This specific consumption of 1280 calories via liquids is not bad. It is what it is. In fact, most of these tasty drinks on the right do contain water, thus you will likely be hydrated as a result. But if you’re trying to alter body composition, you have to ask yourself if the enjoyment and calories in these drinks correlate to your desired body shape. If the answer is yes - that’s cool. If the answer is no - here is an incredibly easy opportunity to create a calorie deficit. - - Being hydrated is as critical to remaining alive as a calorie deficit is for fat loss. Alright babes...“What I’m Loving Wednesday” is back 👋🏽 and what I’m sharing this week is not only free, but it’s also one of the simplest things you can do to boost your health in so many ways. 🙏🏽 I’ve been really consistent with it for the last couple of weeks and have noticed such a difference that It has found a forever place in my morning routine. 💕 Wondering what is it? 🤨 Well...I’ve been reading and listening to different Ayurvedic medicine books and podcasts and trying to incorporate more Ayurvedic practices into my daily routine. One that has been super easy to adopt is drinking water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. I’ve been waking up, filling my BbE water bottle and drinking all 32 ounces within about 5 minutes. It’s awesome mamas. Not only are you hydrating first thing, you are also flushing out toxins and clearing your intestines. Such a healthy way to start the morning and when you see how glowing your skin is and how great way you feel...it’s a no brainer habit you are going to want to keep! EATING HEALTHY DOES NOT = TONED / FIT BODY 🙅🏻⁣ ⁣ A big misconception a lot of people have is that if they just “eat healthy” - which by definition, can mean anywhere from cereal to a salad, to eat a bowl of chopped up fruit, does not equate to having that “toned” “muscly” body you seek.⁣ ⁣ Without a training program that specifically targets the areas you want to work and specific macros that MATCH your goals, you will NOT see change. You may lose weight, but creating that SHAPE you want is all in the training.⁣ ⁣ Nutrition and training go hand in hand. You must eat enough and of the right quantities to fuel your workouts + grow muscle. That is why it is so important to know your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) and to adjust your calories and macros accordingly for weight loss or weight gain.⁣ ⁣ If you are serious in seeing consistent change, I highly recommend finding out your macros and logging what you are eating even just for a week in My Fitness Pal. You may be completely surprised by how much you are actually eating, if or not you are eating enough or too much protein/carbs/fats. This is usually where you see where you are falling short or what you need to cut back on to see results.⁣ ⁣ The aim of the game is to incorporate the most high-quality, nutrient dense foods (whole foods) that also work together to meet your daily macros.⁣ ⁣ This is the steps I take when I plan what I am eating:⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ What do I feel like eating? Pancakes, a burger, pasta, noodles?⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ How can I recreate these so that they are 1. Lowest in Calories / Fit within my Macros 2. Nutrient Dense 3. Tastes Amazing 4. Filling ASF⁣ ⁣ 3️⃣ Pop the ingredients into My Fitness Pal and adjust measurements accordingly so when added up, they all work together to meet your daily macros.⁣ ⁣ Notice how I build my meals around WHAT I FEEL LIKE EATING. WHAT I ACTUALLY LIKE!!!⁣ ⁣ A lot of people do it the other way around - eat meals that are bland, boring, has no seasoning or repetitive because “it’s the cleanest” so I’ll get results.
