With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought it would be good to share some positivity, and some advice from myself. SO many people think that the food they eat on Thanksgiving will affect them and make them gain weight, when the truth is, you won’t gain weight from one meal. So, instead of worrying about all the food you ate the next day, take more time to be thankful that you got to spend time with you family and friends! If you are worried about eating too much on Thanksgiving, just think of this: EVERYONE eats more on Thanksgiving. It’s just a fact! So, it’s not “bad” for you to eat normal on this one day of the year. Enjoy yourself! Let yourself enjoy foods that you won’t eat for another year! Instead of worrying about the food you’re eating, focus on the being thankful for all that you have. Holidays shouldn’t be ruined by thoughts of gaining weight, so this holiday season, think about the real reason why you are gathering with your family and friends. 🍂❤️🍂

Turkey mince and lentil chilli 🌶 . Here’s a cheap and high protein meal that’s ideal for winter. This recipe makes 5 portions, and I just serve it with rice! . The lentils make it quite orange in colour which makes it almost look like a soup, but trust me it tastes like chilli . The macros for this one without rice are approx: - 300 Cals - 24g Carbs - 33g Protein - 7.4g Fat . Ingredients: - 400g red split lentils - 2 Veg stock cubes - Olive oil - 500g lean turkey mince - 1/2 onion - finely chopped - 3 cloves garlic - finely chopped - 1 red chilli - sliced - Celery - 2 stalks - sliced - Turmeric - 1tsp - Cumin - 1tsp - Paprika - 1tsp - Thyme - 1/2 tsp - Black pepper - 1tsp - Can of chopped tomatoes - Cornflour for thickening (optional) . Method: - Rinse the lentils in cold water then place them in a large pot. Add in your veg stock (you’ll need around 1.5l of liquid) and bring to the boil - reduce heat and simmer to soften lentils - Whilst the lentils are cooking look out a large frying pan and cook your mince, onion, garlic and chilli in a little olive oil to stop it sticking - When the turkey mince is no longer pink add in your spices and chopped tomatoes and mix well! - Add your turkey mixture to the large pot with the lentils cooking and mix this together. It will appear quite thin but as it cooks further it will start to thicken - Continue to simmer until the lentils are nice and soft! - Taste and see whether you need extra seasoning - Finally, if the chilli is too thin for your liking add in some cornflour to thicken (Tip: mix the cornflour into a paste with a dash of water before adding to the chilli to stop it going lumpy) . #healthyeating #healthyrecipe #foodideas #winterfoods #ptintraining #nutritiousfood #glasgowfitness #homemade
