WE ARE NOT ALIKE... This song gets me hyped up for so many reasons. For many it means your journey is unique. Haters want to discredit you and your level of success by saying they are just like you so your accomplishment is no big deal. Or they say they are the same as you to cover their lack of. Don't be hurt or discouraged by their nonsense. Them doing this means you have succeeded above and beyond. They are jealous... the only thing they can say "oh I'm just as good" or "they are no better". Yes I know right now you are having memories of past motivational quotes stating you are as good as the next person, etc etc. You as a person are as good as another human. What I'm talking about are skills, knowledge, smartness, etc etc. The truth is there is always someone better than you! That person is the one that is not like you. Two huge nuggets of advice. 1) never believe you have finally reached all knowing. That you are the smartest person in the world. 2) don't believe there is a limit to your abilities and try to mimic another person. Both will cause you to slow down or completely halt personal growth. Both will have many people pass you and eventually you will be in last place. Always remember you are unique. Have confidence in your path. Be patient and let time show you that your successes will come true. You got this

Personal share - a few weeks ago I discovered a breast lump, I promptly went to the doctor who also felt it and recommended an ultrasound, she asked me how long I had the lump and I had no idea as I never check my breasts. It took 3 agonising weeks to get in for my ultrasound which was Wednesday last week. By this time I had conjured up some scary scenarios in my head about what they would find and the future for my 3 year old. When the sonographer called me in I burst into tears but she was so lovely and comforting through the whole experience. The result showed nothing that needed further examination and I was given the all clear. This is a call for all women to make sure you check your breasts for any changes, the earlier a lump is found, the better your chances are for recovery if it is something serious like cancer. The statistics are in our favour, something like 80-85% of lumps are benign, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Sending love to everyone reading. Please check your breasts!

I don’t know about you, but I consider the “holidays” from the start of Thanksgiving week trough New Year’s Eve, until I head back to school in January. That’s a long time! Almost 7 weeks this year!⁣ ⁣ Seven weeks full of family, festivities, traditions...lots of indulgent foods, holiday drinks, and oh the cookies! Training Frequency is very important, especially when you are aiming to achieve your desired goals. As a PT nothing is more frustrating then having a client who only trains once per week with you and then doesn't do any other exercise until next weeks session. Even more frustrating when they then blame you for not achieving results. Dependant on your goal, you should be looking to train at least 3-4 times per week and the workouts should be specific to your needs and goals.
