Saturday workout ✔️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My husband does one Saturday shift a month on EMT where he has to stay in call in town. We try to go to dinner or see each other for a little bit on those days so we aren’t missing a whole day off away from each other. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I told him this Saturday when he as on call that I wanted to workout and have lunch in his EMT office together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He put me through an arms workout and we ate salad 🥗 and English muffin pizza. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is a view of the fire station gym we got our sweat on in!

Being at peace with yourself is not the easiest thing. It's not just a mental thing it's emotional and physical too. Since day one of being diagnosed with PCOS and learning how to live with it, has brought a tremendous battle to my every day life. A lot of ups and downs and points where I seriously just want to scream why me? Why do I have to sit with this and struggle so much? 🤷🏼 Me questioning it all got me nowhere. So I decided to change my perspective, do as much as I possibly can that will benefit my health, try to listen to my body and know what it needs and finally not being angry at myself. I blamed myself for having this disease thinking that it was my fault and truth be told that's nowhere even near the truth but that's the mentality that I had. To all the woman going through this and feeling as dispirited as I am sometimes, know that you're not alone. 🌞

Amazon came! Super excited as I've been working with one kettlebell during my home workouts and I ordered this set the other day to add more variety in my weights. I also ordered a weighted medicine ball for core exercises. . . Friends, it’s been awhile. I plan to blog about my adventure to Boulder, our next eclipse (tomorrow!), and other happenings. 🏔 🌝🧠🌌 . This delayed #flexfriday is from a month ago. I love the supported flye, as I often compensate by using my neck and head. I’ve been working with @drcaseypride to balance me out a bit more—notice my bar hang in video 3 and the difference in my shoulders! That’s years of compensating.🤸‍♀️ . In 7th grade when they test you for scoliosis, I had a mild curve. Did chiropractic care back then, but nothing long term. My compensations weren’t bad (read: painful) enough to keep me motivated to continue care.⚠️ . Enter my renewed passion for weight training, years of compensation, a PCOS diagnosis, and I’m in chronic pain. And not the pain from a good workout. Thankfully I started to learn more about fascia from @drmiketnelson and @rpr_system, and started doing activations on myself which helped my pain considerably. Dr. Pride helps with combining chiro with neuro, which is amazing. 💥🧠 . When @jk139 asks me how my week has been, he knows he’s going to get a multi-layered answer. How is my body adjusting to training? Is my discomfort more or less reasonable? How’s my nutrition? How’s my stress and sleep? BTW, using heart rate variability #hrv helps immensely in measuring all these factors. Having @truecoach.co for ongoing communication is a great help too. 🗣📊📱 . Does this sound overwhelming? Like a lot to manage? Well, you’d be right. However, when I have moments of overwhelm, I ask myself this simple question: what’s the alternative? I can’t and won’t go back to a life where I was in pain. I have tools to help myself, and I know how to ask for help. Taking the first step to empower myself and my health every day. Taking time on a Sunday to plan out certain elements of my week has been one of the game changers when it comes to managing working, studying, smashing goals and being present all at the same time. - It’s not easy, and it’s never perfect, but it does help. And it helps to reduce stress and anxiety that can creep up in the week when I feel like I haven’t achieved what I wanted or needed to. - Time is a precious commodity, in fact, I think it’s almost THE most precious. It’s the only thing we can never get back. So this year, my goals revolve around using my precious time wisely. - I want to do more, but also do less. I want to fulfil some goals, but also be present in every moment. I want to use my time wisely, but also be able to not plan every single moment. - It’s a fine art, but I’m reading to hone my skills this week. Because this is the creamiest, easiest, thiccest dairy replacement you'll make (no shade to my oat milk).🤤⠀ ⠀ It also made the BEST cacao latte (from my story) the other day that was SO delish it counted as breakfast - 20g of protein, 29g carbs, 12g fat and no sugar (should I post that recipe too?)⠀ ⠀ For now, I'm trying to repurpose the macadamia meal into snack bites. Suggestions welcome.⠀ ⠀ ✨ MACADAMIA MYLK RECIPE✨⠀ ⠀ * Soak 1 cup of macadamias (or similar) for 1-2 hours. If I learnt anything throughout my journey it is that no one can force me to do what is necessary to make the changes that would assist with alleviating the symptoms associated with my conditions or making me a healthier me. I had to do it because I wanted it. I had to find my “why”. I got tired taking medication that made me feel sicker, the bloated feeling, skin that looked unhealthy and my clothes fitting more and more snug. I wanted to feel healthy and comfortable. So what’s your why? Find it and let that be your motivation. And remember this is your race #babysteps

Has anyone went carnivore diet? I feel like this change is going to kill me since I don’t care much for meat. But my dr thinks this is the way to go to heal everything. For my pre-birthday treat my hubby took me and my mom to Mad O’Rourkes in Tipton, Dudley. I wasn’t brave enough to do the desperate dan pie all 4lb of it. So I opted for the wham bam thank you lamb pie, which was beyond tasty. Especially as it came with battered chips. I also had a gin and tonic which is always lovely. I chose not to do pudding, mainly because I couldn’t eat anything else but also I had a tub of halo top peanut butter ice cream waiting in the freezer back home. 🐼

McDonalds, Burger King and any other junk food I could get my hands on for a delicious salty and fatty meal. Living now in a SUPER small town you have to drive like 30+ minutes to get McDonalds. This program, my accountability group and focusing on the small victories have led me to this: This victory, instead of rewarding my hard workouts this week and weight loss with a “cheat” I dived even further into getting my nutrition on track even more. I researched and found this gem: How to make the perfect omelet definitely not how I learned in home economics back in the day 😳 Super simple: 3 eggs 1.5 slices bacon 1 cup chopped kale 1/4 cup chopped bell pepper Salt pepper to taste. This was amazing and super simple. For me the easier it is the more likely I am to succeed. Share this recipe with your friends who want a simple morning go to! I am not usually one to cook fresh food or try something new in the kitchen. But I felt really proud of today's creations and hope to continue this ;) It looks burnt but it was absolutely fine :) Dinner - salmon and veg, I made an alternative to garlic butter that was syn free. Using 200g fat free greek yogurt, 3x garlic cloves, 2tbsp olive oil (if you want) half a teaspoon of salt and pepper, 1tbsp of drill (can get this in the season section for 70p in any supermarket) and half a squezzed fresh lemon. The butter came out tasting like dominos garlic butter :) Desert: #pinchofnom 2.5 syn brownies, mine was 2 syns as I dident use the freedom chocolate shot that the recipe requires. SATURDAY NIGHT! Actually really stoked with my efforts last night. Did full burpees down to the ground, did some full man pushups, box jumps feeling easier (I might have to go higher next time), row times were epic. Keep on smashing them goals! Last weekend on my 33rd birthday I made the decision to take back my life and not let PCOS decide what my body should look like. I understand that this disease will make it 100x harder to lose but I'm 1000x more motivated to crush it. ya 4 meses entrenando mínimo 4 veces a la semana. 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️ Sin parar en las festividades de diciembre. Comiendo mucho más saludable prácticamente no alcohol, para sobrellevar el #sop solo he logrado bajar 1 kg de peso pero en tallas ha sido mucho mas notorio.
