Solid dumbbell session with my dad @9__finger today! 😁 This was after some bench presses too. 😳 Was surprised with how strong I felt on them still. 💪 Did a set of 10 50s, set of 10 65s, set of 10 80s, set of 8 100s, set of 10 120s, and a set of 18 100s. 🤘 Thinking about taking a break from bench press and transitioning over to dumbbell presses for awhile. 🤔 Bench felt off and just am over it honestly. 😩 Really enjoyed how these felt. 😃 Back to my high school roots again when all I mainly did was dumbbell presses. 🙌

Quick tip for the week on protein consumption vs. training • Are you under eating in protein? That needs to change now if you want to see a result! • Why is protein important? 🤔 ✅ Aids in muscle recovery/repair ✅ Keeps you fuller for longer and can therefore help you psychologically during a weight cut or being in a calorie deficit ✅ High protein diets have shown to indirectly help with fat loss ✅ Retain muscle mass during a fat loss phase ✅ Literal building blocks of your muscles and connective tissues such as ligaments, tendons etc... • What happens if you under eat in protein? 🤨 🚫 Muscle broken down from training are unable to repair and grow 🚫 Reduces the amount of hemoglobin (unit that helps blood carry oxygen to the muscle) 🚫 Possible loss of muscle during a fat loss phase 🚫 Body will look to break down other muscle tissue that is in less need of protein to help recover the newly broken down muscles

BENCH PRESS MISTAKES: Tag someone who needs to see this 👇! An all-too common mistake I see people make with the bench press is failing to properly arch the back, and instead benching with a completely flat back. As you’ll see, this can not only contribute to shoulder pain/injury but also leads to a weaker bench press. . Now although most people won’t need an exaggerated arch as seen with powerlifters, you do want to ensure there’s some arch present between in your upper back. Because when there’s no arch present, the shoulder often ends up internally rotating at the bottom of the press which overtime can result in injury 🚫. . But keep in mind that you aren’t simply arching the lower back. You want to instead lift your chest up towards the ceiling and retract/pinch your shoulder blades down and back. This will naturally create an arch in your upper back which you then want to maintain as a solid base of support for your press (keep the shoulder-blades retracted and pinned down even as you press!) ✅. . Doing this will not only enable your shoulders to be in a safer position by now keeping the glenohumeral joint externally rotated throughout the press, but will ALSO both provide more stability AND promote better recruitment of the lower fibers of the pecs – resulting in a larger portion of the chest muscles being used and thus a stronger bench press overall 💪. . I’ve been in the fitness business 10 years and I’m still loving the fitness success stories I get to help write. But there’s something about writing your own fitness story that is just as rewarding . With that being said, I am finally going to start training for a marathon. I have my eye on a little 5k in August and maybe I’ll do a few little ones beforehand. Reason for this choice is simply because I am so bored of my routine and looking forward to training hard again 💪🏼

💦SWEATY HIIT WORKOUT💦 this one is rough but HIGHLY recommend because I felt so amazing afterwards! Perform each exercise 4x for 20 seconds as hard as you can, with 10 seconds rest in between. People that bench press and their ass comes off the bench shouldn’t be trusted! I know my form isn’t great but from 110kg to 140kg my ass is firmly on the bench! IMO if your ass comes off the bench it’s a red flag, no lift, your assisting yourself!
