#jollofjeudi It is my birthday today and I am so excited to come home and tuck into a nice big bowl of jollof and greens. Unfortunately I am not feeling well which is a bummer but I made this week’s jollof extra spicy to clear up my stuffy nose . What’s the best food to eat for inflammation or muscle soreness❓I got asked that and my answer is that there is not one single food or nutrient, but multiple variables involved including non-food related things. Through research, I’ve also learned that not all inflammation or soreness is bad as some is a part of our immune response to infections or adaptation to exercise, but can be an issue if it is longer lasting and affects our daily activities. Dietitians or nutritionists, share below what you recommend to your active clients if they ask about anti-inflammatory foods? . Da in alto a sinistra: bowl di verdure (patate dolci, zucchine e carote saltate) su un letto di lattuga, con tempeh saltato in salsa di soia, germogli, arachidi e salsina thai agli arachidi, il tutto accompagnato da un po’ di quinoa. Un piatto bilanciato con tutti i macronutrienti che può essere anche un’idea sfiziosa e facile da riprodurre a casa. Sotto un piatto di bulgur con pomodori, peperoni, cetrioli, olive e prezzemolo con extra tempeh, accompagnato da hummus e una tortilla di verdure. E poi, dulcis in fundo, il piatto in alto a sinistra è una crêpe di riso (devo scoprire come la fanno perché era incredibile!) ripiena di verdure saltate con salsa ai peperoni, accompagnata da tofu e ricoperta da ulteriore salsa, questa volta di pomodoro, e arachidi come se piovesse☔️🥜! Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Pancakes! 🥞🍫🥜 . . shocked that I managed to make and eat these and still make it to class on time... and my first time putting protein powder in pancakes and they were not bad!! I’ve been using almond butter so much that I forgot how much I love a chocolate peanut butter combo 💗 . . Get in ma belly! Cling onto the last little bit of summer before fall officially starts this weekend with this mango walnut salad. Packed with antioxidants and Vitamin C to support your immune system and fend off those fall colds that come around. Ingredients Salad 1 mango, sliced or cubed(or other favourite fruit) ½ cup walnuts, chopped ½ cup Panko breadcrumbs 2 cups arugula 1 avocado, sliced or cubed Dressing 1 tsp. fresh ginger, grated 1 tsp. honey 2 Tbsp. olive oil 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar Cracked black pepper Directions Mix all dressing ingredients together and set aside. Wash mango, remove skin and slice or cube to your liking. Wash avocado and split in half, remove skin and scoop or slice thinly. In a bowl mix together arugula, Panko breadcrumbs, mango, avocado and walnuts. Drizzle dressing, toss and enjoy. Nutrition facts per serving Calories 655; protein 11 g; fat 49 g; carbs 45 g. SWIPE TO SEE THE FOREST BURGER I HAD AT @lasvegansbp yesterday!🤩 This is the BEST vegan burger I have ever had without meaty flavor.😍😍😍Since I’m Buddhist, I’m trying my best to avoid garlic, green onions and cilantro. It was already very delicious without the sauce! Despite the fact that I was in a hurry, I finished the burger in 5 minutes!(it is bigger than my hand!)In addition to the mushroom patty, in between there are sun-dried tomatoes, fresh portobello slices and abundant amount of baby spinach, which are all my favorites!!!!!🤩 The green smoothie was also very refreshing!
