The #1 question I get asked is how do I start Keto??� Although, I am not a nutritionist nor a scientist...I'd love to share how I got started on keto/ low carb with you! I am not perfect and have just started my new LOVE for this keto lifestyle only 7 months ago and honestly I don't think I will ever go back to they way I used to eat. I have done soo much research and have learned so much to honestly ever want to have those "bad" carbs again. I initially started of course for weight loss because I had reach an all time plateau in my previous dieting ventures. After only being on it for 2 weeks I immediately started to see results physically, mentally and the way I felt overall. I will continue because of this! Having only been on this keto lifestyle 6 months I have broken my plateau, lost 2 jean sizes, increased my energy levels like never before, Sleep like a baby, power through my workouts and soooo much more!! Just numbers, right? Stats...so what? It has been weeks of a plateau in my indoor cycling performance. And I am a little competitive...with myself.😬 Adjusted food. Adjusted time I went to spin class. Adjusted sleep 💤. Moved myself out of my comfort zone to the front of the room. 🤨 And pushed...and when I thought I was out...pushed more.👊🏻 It feels good to hit a goal...break a ceiling. 💪🏻💦 ❤️What plateau are you trying to break? ❤️What personal best do you want to beat? ❤️What goal are you pushing towards?

I remember the first time I opened up a packet of ketones. I was so skeptical, I so wanted it not to work, I SO wanted not to NEED IT. I was already healthy, right? Why would I need this? . But this is the thing. I did NEED it. My energy was low, I was sleeping like crap, my focus was just off, my motivation was at an all time 0 - and I was STUCK at a plateau which would just not budged. I was always tired and sleeping through the night NEVER HAPPENED! I wasn’t exercising BUT eating healthy... it wasn’t enough anymore. . And after several weeks of drinking this “kool-aid” I saw all the arrows pointing to YES.. I NEED this!! And after doing more research, I KNEW why I needed it. And knew I also couldn’t keep the secret to my “mommy juice” to myself either. . After my first weeks of drinking ketones.... Tired during the day, NOPE! Focused as ever, YEP! Accomplishing a ton of work in my new biz daily, YEP! Got my house totally in order and update to date on everything. That Plateau - BUSTED! Feeling great within an hour of drinking it, YEP! Helping others feel amazing too, HECK YES!! . It’s official. I have registered for my next NPC Bikini show at the end of March! I know I haven’t been very transparent with this prep but that is because i wanted to figure out for myself if I really wanted to do it, and if I was going to be ready. I wanted to do that without any outside influence. I went through a plateau at the start of this prep for a while which made me question if I would be ready and able. This was tough for me as I don’t have a coach. Me not having a coach isn’t a decision that I made because I think I know everything. It’s because I’m a broke college student. However, that being said, I am confident in my education of nutrition and exercise science that coaching myself is not a set back. I have learned so much about how my body responds throughout this prep and it has helped me so much. I knew that I would regret it if I didn’t do this show.. so with that being said, it’s grind time! I am 5 weeks out and about 8 weeks in already. I am going to take the feedback from this show and use it to bring the BEST package I can deliver at Nationals this summer. This show will be a lot bigger than the last one that I competed in so I am excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I’m calling the diet today! I’m so done eating potatoes for every meal. I’ve already conquered the junk food cravings, I’m going mostly wfpb with sweets and treats on holidays of course, but I cannot do another day of eating just potatoes! The first pic is recent, and the second is from the day before I started. I’ve lost about half an inch from my middle in ten days, and 3 pounds. In order to keep this up I just need to focus on eating plants, keeping fat low, and save processed foods for very rare occasions. Takeaways: I saved a ton of money doing this. If you’re low on funds, potatoes are one of the cheapest foods out there. Look up their AA profile and nutrients too, not bad at all, right? This is a pretty hydrating way to eat too. I felt like my skin was softer without using lotion, and despite not being able to eat enough calories (dense food) I always looked bright and alert. To add to that, I had very high energy despite the low calories. I didn’t feel deprived or lacking in energy at any point unless I let myself get very hungry while out Christmas shopping. All in all it was a successful experiment, but I am too mentally and physically exhausted of making, preparing and eating potatoes to make 3 more meals of them for the next 3 days. This is the thing...the proof I needed to see for myself. My scale this am. I have been eating vegetarian for 6 days today... I had been struggling to break out of a plateau. Never getting past 205 in May... I went back up to 210 in June. My belly always distended and bloated n I thought it was bread that was doing this to me...I tested allergic to wheat. I kept eating my high fat high protein diet with fruits n veggies n dairy...semi keto..I excercised NOTHING happened except I felt tired and listless and bloated and constipated. I decided after watching WHAT THE HEALTH to not eat meat or dairy and I've lost basically a pound a day. Never hungry no bloat and more energy, no constipation...in just 6 days. By the way I have not excercised this week n I had wine and beer and bread and chocolate this week also.
