Aren’t dogs just the best. If I ever feel sad, overwhelmed, sick or just need a hug- I can always rely on the beagles. Alfie in particular is always down to have a squeeze or lay there and be my little spoon. He is so patient with Henry even when he squeezes his poor little ear tight. Ich hab mir gedacht, ich lasse meine Mittwochs-Bilder (früher Wochenwechselbilder) einfach weiter laufen und schau mal, was mein Körper so macht. Vielleicht ist es für die ein oder andere ja auch interessant. Direkt nach der Geburt habe ich im Krankenhaus noch einmal ordentlich Wasser eingelagert. Meine Füße und Hände sahen wirklich grausam aus. Als ich nach Hause kam hatte ich daher gerade mal eine Gewichtsabnahme von 3,5 kg zu verzeichnen. Daran änderte sich auch nichts bis der Milcheinschuss kam. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt fiel das Gewicht jeden Tag und auch das Wasser verschwindet gerade wieder. ~~~~~~•~~~~~~ Gesamtzunahme: 21 kg Wochenabnahme: -7,6 kg Gesamtabnahme: -7,6 kg Noch übrig: +13,4 kg

<<Essay Warning>> This is me. Raw. No photoshopping, no shaving a cm here or there. Just me. And my gorgeous bubba. The freezing cold wind didn't allow me to put up any walls, or think about how to best pose my body, or wear my hair out to cover my arms. Heck I couldn't even get my hair to stay behind my ears. But it's real. . I'm not a young mum, I've birthed three children in 3.5 years and it's safe to say each subsequent pregnancy has left me with what I jovially call my 'leftovers'. I say jovially because when I am asked how far along in my pregnancy I am I plaster a smile on my face and jovially but truthfully reply that no, I'm not pregnant, they're my leftovers and then gesture towards my kids. But I'd be lying if I didn't admit that it does get me down at times. Not all the time. But enough to talk about it with hubby. It hurts most when it comes from friends/acquaintances who know full well that I've got a newborn, it hurts most when I'm holding said 6 or 8 or 12 week old newborn and I get asked. Like seriously. How much does that say about society's messed up expectations and the pressures put on new mums to 'get their body back', when they're at their most vulnerable and you have people effectively saying "yes I know you've got a baby only weeks old but you must be 6 months pregnant cause look at that belly!!" . I follow some incredible women on Instagram who have been instrumental in helping me with my own body image. Such that I got some nude shots taken of my burgeoning belly on what turned out to be the day my daughter was born (this was a BIG deal for me). When I saw them a week later I just welled up. I adored them. When I was birthing my daughter I was consciously thinking 'I'm so glad I got those photos taken today". I put them on Instagram and received some truly soul warming feedback (before Instagram decided my one blurry nipple in shadow was offensive and took it down 🤣). But as I posted, a part of me knew that that belly which I was so proud of in those photos, who had nurtured and grown my precious baby; would be the subject of sometimes furtive and sometimes openly critical looks in the months to come. <<continued in comments>>
