2 years ago today I was giving birth to the two most amazing people in this world. Today I ran my 4th distance race of the year, got a PR for half marathons and SMASHED my Frederick Half time (first half postpartum). The female body is truly mindblowing on what it’s capable of. I get it... LIFE is busy. The season of being a mama is incredibly bat sh!t crazy...kids flying off couches, needing 5 applesauce pouches opened in 5 minutes, stripping their clothes off every time you wrestle them into them, refusing a cartoon after they demanded it all day the day before... It’s not only stressful keeping them alive but can feel incredibly thankless. I mean...who honestly appreciates moms? Like, actually realizes how much we do everyday and acknowledges it? Not many! Usually we only hear of the things we DON’T get done 🙄 I read that being a mom is equivalent to working 2.5 jobs. And I believe it. Because guess what...our job is never done. So I get it when you say that you don’t have the energy to workout on the daily. Because I felt that way too. That thinking kept me from committing for 3 years after my first baby, even though I had desperately wanted to make a change in my health. So what happened to actually make me do something about it? I finally quit using all the excuses that kept me in my comfort zone. I quit using TIME as an excuse. Mainly, I was finally sick of always wishing for something instead of doing it because I knew deep down that I was totally capable of it. Just like I know YOU are 👊 TOTALLY, 💯%, fu<*!ng CAPABLE. And let me tell you...you have to do something for yourself every single day. Not just self care on the weekends or random ladies night. Nope, you need something for you every day! I promise motherhood will be a little less stressful, you’ll have more energy to keep up with the demands put on you and you’ll feel more confident in yourself! You’re allowed 30 minutes for you. Deep down inside me I knew I could do this “fitness life”. But I never knew how far i could make it honestly. I say that because I’ve started this journey so many times that I always have given up at some point. But this time is so much different than all those other times. I think a majority of it comes from becoming a mom. I have this little blessing that is constantly looking and mimicking my actions. CONSISTENCY IS KEY! 🔑

One tell tale sign that life is getting a bit tough is when my social media kind of goes to a stand still for a little while... . I share a lot of my life on here but I choose what to share with you all and keep a lot of my life very private! I personally think I deal with stress very well, I’m a pretty upbeat person, mentally strong minded and take things well in my stride but this past week has really tested me! I find it hard to post on here being positive and empowering when I feel anything but positive and my mind is in absolute overdrive to the point it just feels blank!🤯 . I have a lot on my plate with running my business 24/7, raising my two girls, running a household, working towards my own personal goals, trying to see family/friends and always feeling like I never have time to see people, I literally don’t stop. Don’t get me wrong, that’s the way I like it but when life is so manic, the last thing I need is other people causing more stress! . Over the past few years, I have unfortunately come to realise that no matter what you do, some people will try to tear you down at any given chance. I just don’t understand it. I could let this affect me and break me down or I could choose to let this kind of behaviour push me on and be even more determined to work hard and succeed - I choose the latter 👊🏼 . This week was meant to be my refreshed and rejuvenated week back to work after my holiday (after an already stressful time) and it’s been far from it! Here’s hoping this Monday will be better 😬 . I totally know how it feels to not think your good enough. I spent years comparing myself without even knowing about it. Do you believe that comparison is the thief of your joy? We all have so much greatness within us!! Comparing yourself is the biggest detour! I just completed day 90 of my 100 day workout program! There was moves in this program that I could hardly lift my feet off the floor! Today I’m better at those moves!! Not perfect! But better! That’s what you want! To progress! There’s so many that just think about “ Getting into shape” but the thought of trying something they don’t think they can do is really scary. Getting into shape both physically and mentally is a journey that we will forever progress in as long as we don’t give up! You don’t have to give up your entire life to make your health and fitness a priority. I have a group running for 3 weeks in November! With 5 kids aged 10 and under I live for date night. I’m 2 years postpartum but I STILL have to consistently work to strengthen my psoas + hip flexors. 4 pregnancies absolutely wrecked them and when I don’t consistently strengthen them I start compensating with my lower back. Familiar problem for you too? 5 Exercises to strengthen them: 1. Banded dead bugs 2. Banded standing psoas March 3. Banded seated marches 4. Banded standing knee drive (shown here) 5. Banded standing hip flexion Tell me, do you regularly strengthen your hip flexors? All moves on my YouTube page if you’re unsure of what they are 🙌🏻.

I’ve got the day to myself, so here I am at the gym! Yes, I could do my workout at home, but it’s just as easy to stream the workout on my phone and do the workout next to the weights here 💪🏼 . I enjoy every moment out of the house solo that I can get 😂 tough night with the baby and mama needs some dumbbells and alone time!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 1️⃣0️⃣ months since I started this journey. I’ve overcome a lot. I’ve overcome postpartum depression. My anxiety is better! I’m more confident. I’m happier. I’ve lost weight & a SHIT TON of inches. I feel better in my clothes. I’ve gone down in clothing sizes. Not only has this been a physical change BUT a MENTAL change too. I WISH people talked more about mental health but they don’t. I also wish people talked about postpartum depression more... but they don’t. . . . Working out is my THERAPY. It’s what helps me. I’ve learned so much about myself the past 10 months. I’m much stronger than I thought, mentally & physically. I’ve learned who is there supporting me & who isn’t. {Sweat for the Struggle} Sometimes, doing it for yourself isn’t enough. Sometimes, the snooze button seems so much more appealing. Guess I’m not going into target.... Can you see who fell asleep in the car? It’s only 8:30 but Grayson decided he needed a nap 😴 This use to stress me out! I would be so worried about him falling asleep in the car 🚘 and mixing up his sleep schedule for the day that I would clap at every red light to keep him awake 🙈 Over the past few months I have found that my anxiety level surrounding his sleep has decreased tremendously! I believe this is because I am in a more positive and healthy mindset! I attribute this to the change I have made in my morning routine! All the feels today! Ten years ago almost to the day, I came home with Hector to meet his family for the first time. It was dads 70th birthday, and ALL the family was here. I was SO nervous. What would they think? Would they like me? Bless the relationship? It was amazing! His family is truly the family I always prayed to marry into! There’s no “ugh my mother in law is coming”, no family drama, we just all love each other and enjoy one another. Today we’re back, but it’s different. Today we have two miracles with us! If you would have asked me that weekend in 2009 how the next 10 years would go, I would have said marriage and babies. As most of you know, while that has indeed happened, it wasn’t without much heartache and struggle! I now see that God used our infertility journey to bring Hector and I closer, and continues to use us to bring awareness to something that so many go through! I am so incredibly thankful for this life that God has given us, and the family that I gained 10 years ago!

Bridges and bridge variations are one of my FAVORITE exercises! They work your glute and core and are a great stabilization exercise that can be easily progressed as you get stronger. BUT, if you don’t have the basic technique down, you’re not getting all the benefits of the bridge. The most common issues I see when it comes to bridge form are the ability to keep the back and pelvic neutral, and the positioning of the ribs. Keeping the pelvic and spine neutral allows for optimal core and glute contractions. If you ribs a flaring during your bridge, this prevents the core muscles from properly engaging as well. Plan when I found out I was pregnant: continue my workouts and keep eating healthy. . Reality when I found out I was pregnant: felt good and stayed on track for about a week until ALL DAY nausea hit. 😩 . For 2 months I was pretty much nauseated all day every day and had headaches in the evenings if I didn’t get a nap during the day. Aka it’s been ROUGH to say the least. . I’ve missed more workouts than I would have liked. I’ve barely ate any vegetables and only a few fruits. Literally been living on carbs because they are the only foods that remotely seem like they’ll sit ok in my stomach. . So giving myself grace and doing my best. I’m working out when I can. I’m staying as active as I can, but at the end of the day I’m listening to my body and resting when I need to. . This pregnancy has been so different than my pregnancy with Isaac with how I’ve felt, but I’ve already stayed more active than when I was pregnant with Isaac so I’ll take that as a win! . So my transformations are now going backwards, but this is the first trimester. I only gained a couple pounds and inches and I’m determined to finish all 100 workouts that I started! . Who’s up for a prenatal/postpartum support group?? I’d love to connect with all my mommas so we can help each other stay active and healthy during this time! Anyone up for that??

I had a lot of people ask me to share home organization tips, so I thought I would share what we did in our laundry room to create more space and to organize the laundry by category 😂 (I’m OCD really bad when it comes to laundry and how it’s washed/what is washed with what. So after looking on Pinterest for months 🙈 (literally because we were using a nasty, moldy, floor cloth bin and I couldn’t take it anymore), I saw something similar to what we did, but we obviously had to down size it to work with our space. Before we had three rolling cloth bins on the floor behind the door and it was really inconvenient. & I like to work smarter, not harder... so we got rid of the cloth bins to open the door all the way 🙌🏻 I went to Target and bought color coded bins to symbolize (from top to bottom) Lights, Darks, & Towels. Brad bought some hooks, hung them on the wall, and boom. Just like that 🤷🏼‍♀️ Now we just lift the bin off the hook, dump into the washer, and that’s it. No more bending over to pick everything out of the baskets and twisting to the washer. **The towel bin sits on the floor though because we didn’t have enough room to hang all three, so I just pick that up and dump it all into the washer too 🤙🏻 Convenience people 😎👏🏻

Looks aside, I clearly FELT amazing too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now when I look at the right one, I am shook. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Like in shock that I’ve done this the right way. That I didn’t quit. That I’m strong and capable now. No fad diet. Just a shit ton of hard work. Slow and steady wins the race! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I want you to feel this!! I really really do!!! I just finished a workout & in fact I retook with my shirt on because...but then realized I need to share & to be vulnerable. snuffed my noise up at it because it’s so real. My body. I struggle with this image. My chest grew about 3 sizes & I’m not loving it. 😂I’m more of a size A girl. . BUTTTT... Through our journey with baby Miles (#2 in our crazy clan) fitness, personal development & my family/friends have been probably the only consistent thing. What I’m gathering through all of this...Don’t be afraid to ❤️ yourself. Whether you’re at your goal weight or not. Whether you have abs or not. Whether you ate perfectly or you had the French fries or not. . Don’t forget to love the skin your in, to appreciate it. Somedays you’ll look at yourself & pick a part every piece of your body. Somedays you’ll look at yourself & feel so confident. . Whether you’ve lost the baby weight within the first month or you’re still hanging onto those last 20lbs. Know & believe this season of life is exactly where you’re supposed to be. It doesn’t mean you’re stuck, doesn’t mean you can’t propel..it simply is a reminder to BE. . To stop focusing on the future so much, the to do lists, the what if’s, could’ve been a & BE. I’m going to be really real with you guys. This week was ROUGH. I had an audit at my day job and the long hours got to me. I ran on Monday and that was about it for my work outs. I ate Jimmy Johns, pizza (@jonshay), and caved into more caffeine and sugar than I care to admit. My sleep was spotty - I stayed up later than I should have, and I didn’t do a very good job of taking care of myself or my body. . •L I F E happens• . Last night when I came home, I KNEW I needed to get a workout in, but I wanted to sit and spend time with the fam instead. I so made a little best of both worlds. Here was my work out: 25 movements, 10 reps each. My husband, @brewski0625 got to choose the movements. Not only did I think he enjoyed simply telling me what to do, 🙄but worked out together (which probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise) Here are the movements we rotated between: Squats (there were a lot of squats), burpees, lunges, push-ups, mountain climbers, leg raises, planks, side planks, dips, pike push-up, bear crawl, ball leg extensions, bicycles, handstand hold.
