Recharging after the gym with one of my favourites - #switchel Made some for the girls too as they love it so much 😍 Switchel is great as a post workout drink as it restores the electrolytes and helps ease the pain and inflammation. With only 4 ingredients, it takes a few seconds to knock one up - a spoonful of grated ginger, a couple of tablespoons of raw apple cider vinegar, spoonful of raw honey (or maple syrup) mixed with water!

We stopped into @dwtnutrition to say hi and see what was what. Demarcus gave us a full rundown of the offerings like the high protein-low calorie-low carb shakes, aloe shots, energy teas, iced coffee and more. Before and after. I made some seriously delicioso vegetarian (but definitely NOT vegan) enchiladas tonight. Omg I mean I couldn't get enough of them! 100% recommend this recipe! post workout fuel this morning 🔥classes started back up today so i didn’t have time to make a fancy breakfast. luckily, i meal prepped some foods to make the mornings a little easier! what’s on my plate: steel cut oat bar (cooked @betteroats organic steel cut oats with water in the instant pot and stored them in the fridge), a pasture raised “poached” egg, @applegate organic uncured turkey bacon, @siggisdairy plain & bluebs! well balanced, quick & delicious!

When you get back to your arse-kicking workouts with @jennybbootcamp I treat myself to a warm bowl of bone broth. When I am not feeling a smoothie or a protein bar on a cold day like today, I replace my electrolytes, up my hydration, and recover my muscles with a high source of protein. The collagen and glycine in the broth can help soft tissues recover, while also boosting my gut/digestive health and my immune system. I normally make my own with my Instapot but I love this easy option I keep in my fridge as a Plan B from @naturescanada! I absolutely adore finding allergy friendly establishments in my own neighborhood. And especially after running a 10K race when you’re supppper hungry. I try to wait at least 45- 1 hour to eat solid food after running to avoid digestive upset. Your cortisol levels can spike when running, which makes your body not want to digest food as much. But after giving my body time to rebalance, I love to fuel up with protein, healthy fats, and some carbs/fiber.✨ . We went to @sellandsmarketcafe and I got the veggie avocado toast and added a slice of bacon (because why not?) on their house made gluten free bread. I don’t frequent gluten free bread and typically don’t buy it to have around the house (ingredient lists are usually long and most are high in sugar) but sometimes you gotta treat yo self! I gotta say the addition of the fresh squeezed lemon and basil really elevated this toast situation too. And the sunshine we had that day✨ . My nightly #repost of my main dudes @syattfitness Perfect Post Workout • • • • • 🦄Scroll through the internet machine and you'll hear all about the magical "anabolic window" in which, legend has it, if you don't eat precisely the right amount of protein and carbs at the exact necessary moment post-workout you immediately lose all your gainz and your muscles shrivel into nothing more than a pathetic string of tissue paper. - ☕️Truth is, that's not how your body works. And so long as you get enough protein and calories by the end of the day...odds are you're going to be totally fine. - 🦄That said, my personal preference is to get some protein (25 - 50g) and carbs (20 - 50g) within 30 - 90 min after I finish working out. - ☕️Again, does it matter much if you wait longer than 90min? No. As long as your total calorie and protein are in check for the day, you're good. I just prefer to have it within 90 min because I didn't eat during the workout which means that's at least 3hrs without eating and cmon, Hagrid, I'm hungry! - 🦄Don't forget --> if you miss your post workout swolfie and don't post it to IG (or at least stories) your workout didn't happen and your gainz will quickly pass.
