It’s been too long since I last posted a bowl of oats; like 9 posts lol TOO LONG. . This was the other days breakfast after my morning @lesmillstribe BodyPump class🏋🏽‍♀️ i love exercising first thing on a morning, and often don’t feel like eating before it because I have my evening meals quite late, so refuelling with a big bowl of oats gives me allll my energy back to get on with my day🤓 if you are hungry before doing your morning workout though, then eat! . I probably bang on about them all the time, but oats are SO good for you, they come in their natural state when you buy them (unlike cereal)✅, they are a great source of slow release carbohydrates ✅, they are cheap!, easy to make, and they actually have an authorised claim (which is a difficult thing to get for foods) that they help to lower total blood cholesterol & LDL (the cholesterol you want less of)✅. They are low in sugar ✅and can be made into a delicious breakfast for anyone by topping them with your favourites 😊 . I love adding in chocolate protein to help muscle recovery after my class, and getting in at least one portion of my 5 a day by topping them with fruit 🍓🍌 . A little post workout snack. Super easy to make and super good. Toss 3/4 the cup organic gluten free rolled oats, A palm full of raw cacao nibs, 1-1.5 tbs baking cocoa and 1 packet of stevia in a bowl. Put just enough water to soak the oats. Throw in the microwave for 90 seconds. Stir it with about 30 seconds to go. Pull out and top with sugar free Hershey syrup! #oatmeal #oatmealbowl #postworkout #postworkoutmeal #postworkoutfood

Happy Friday you guys! May I introduce you to my Creamy Lemon and Asparagus Chicken pasta 🍝👀 After work this morning I did a heavy upper body workout that I almost didn’t make it through because I was STARVING. For the past couple days I’ve been craving carbs like crazy, sooo give the body what it wants right!? I think deserve pasta after more than one PR today ✋🏼 Luckily, I made this pasta (that should be heavy and calorically high) light and healthy by swapping several ingredients for healthier ones. Ingredients: • 1 large chicken breast • 1 lb asparagus • 1 lemon + zest • 1 C bone broth (or chicken broth) • 1 pack of pasta (I used Forbidden Rice Pasta. Hence the purple noods) • salt and pepper • cloves • 1 tbsp olive oil • 1 tbsp @earthbalance “butter” • 1 C coconut milk, full fat (or coconut cream orrrr regular cream) • 1/4 C @daiyafoods Parmesan (or nutritional yeast) Directions: 1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water and add the asparagus to the pot during the last 3 minutes of cooking time 2. While the pasta is cooking, cut the chicken breast into bite sized slices and pan fry over Med. heat until cooked all the way through (I added salt, pepper, and lemon juice to my chicken too) 3. Reserve 1/4 of the pasta liquid, and in a small pot add the coconut milk or cream, butter, 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper and let simmer over med-high heat. Keep stirring until it thickens enough to coat a spoon. Then add the juice the zest of 1 lemon. 4. Pour the sauce over the pasta, stir, then serve your dish 🙆🏼‍♀️ 5.
