Yo! LISTEN ‼️Very simple message ‼️ This poster is hanging up in our common room space at work for our kids. We have international high school students who are striving to attend the best colleges in America, so as mentors we hold them accountable for all the work they put in academically, mentally, and physically. _________ Let me give you a bit of perspective as to why this pictures pertains to fitness. These kids traveled from Asia to come to high school in America so that they can build better lives, reach the careers they desire, and potentially conquer their dreams. For an entire school year they are away from their families and friends, and have to continue speaking a new language. All at the earliest age of 15 years old. And then they come back and do it for 3 to 4 full years until they reach college. That is incredible. There is a 100% chance that everyday these kids are challenged by and face some kind of struggle. ___________ It's the same in the fitness world. Lifting, bodybuilding, running, shredding, bulking. The process will beat you down. It's a rigorous journey and progress is only made if you can continue to take the punches while moving forward. Slowly, and steadily. BUT, if you want to succeed, it's going to hurt. You'll go through the struggle and you will persevere, to IMPROVE. The end result is what you set your eyes on, but what you focus on is every little increment of progress and success that you make along the way. IF YOU DON'T STRUGGLE, YOU DON'T IMPROVE. Point. Showing myself some {extra} love today💗 . 👉Pressed play on my workout even though most of my night was spent on kids’ floors and by the time I snuck out it was too late to get in before school drop-off 💪 👉Refueled my body with the best superfoods 🌱 👉Took a nice, long(ish) hot shower 🧖🏻‍♀️ 👉Did my hair 💁🏻‍♀️ . Hi. I'm still here, right where I've been. It's been a rough go for me over the last few days, weeks, months. Life is happening so quickly and I feel like I'm on a slip and slide. I'm confused on where to focus, I'm lost on what to do, and I can't seem to grip onto the things I once knew. I share this because it's totally normal. It's normal to feel like some parts of your life are stable, and others are not okay. It's okay to not be okay....what's not okay is to give up on yourself and what you want. Throughout my journey, SO many things have changed in my life. And keeping up with it all is definitely a challenge. I'm finding it challenging to stay committed to what I know I want and what I know I need to do to get there. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy, I'm busy, and I'm living. I'm just not prioritizing the right things because I'm confused. I'm struggling to dig deep and keep building on ME - because there are too many external factors. So I'm using this post to let it all out, to show you the truth and the struggle...and to let it go. I've been silencing my mind ... because I'm too busy. And I'm so happy I recognize it. So for this #transformationtuesday I'm telling myself it's ok to be confused, and it's ok to NOT BE OKAY. I'm re-evaluating, and I'm taking the steps I need to take...but it's a roller coaster. I can't expect my journey today moving forward to be the exact same one I started in 2016. Because I've grown. And growth is challenging, changing, and tough. Please don't put so much pressure on yourself to be perfect and experience all the same feelings as you do now, forever. Let things change, grow, and evolve. It WILL BE OK, and YOU WILL GET THERE as long as you keep one thing constant - your commitment to doing your best and being the healthiest and happiest version of yourself that you can be! So let's do this. If you got this far, thank you for reading. And know that it’s totally acceptable to take time to figure things out, to feel at peace with yourself. This journey is forever if you’re doing it for the right reasons, so there are no timelines or limitations. 🖤

Transformation Tuesday’s are so much fun! I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made over the last 4 months! 😊 . . It’s so important to reflect on how far we’ve come! How much strength and discipline we put in. The commitment it takes to reach our goals! All the milestones too! 😉 . . Aside from the physical accomplishments, the mindset to get through the tough times matters the most! Think about the mentality you had when you started! 🤔 . . Did you doubt yourself? Want to give up every other day? Dwell on how far you had to go vs what you’ll gain from keeping your commitment? I did too! 🙄 . . Not anymore! When I stopped thinking that way is when I started seeing results and became stronger mentally! Back in May I had a beautiful baby girl. She was breech and I was clueless. The doctor in the hospital failed to inform me about my daughters “crooked neck” which was very obvious. When I asked about it she told me she already texted MY pediatrician regarding her torticolis but never talked to me about it. 😡 I’d never even heard of the word torticolis even though I’m a nurse. After months of physical therapy she is shaping up! 10/22/18, Day 38, meeting 39 of #90meetingsin90days • I can’t stop myself, at the moment. Rather, I couldn’t, didn’t, and to be brutally honest, I didn’t want to. • Feeling all the feelings, including actual, physical hunger: I ate. I ate BIG. Popeye’s big. 4 pc mixed. All by myself. One sitting. At least I got unsweetened tea and no sides. • I knew EXACTLY what I was doing and wasn’t able to intervene on my own behalf. I looked up points. I worked two pieces into my points. My body was satisfied. I could feel it was so. Yet, despite my plan to take the other two pieces to go, I ate the third. I was full for the fourth. • But, no matter what I told myself, I couldn’t put it down until it was all gone. Uncomfortably gone. Painfully gone. Stomach achy gone. This is Compulsive Overeating/ Binge Eating Disorder. • Stress, self-criticism, guilt, sadness, anger, resignation, fatalistic sense of helplessness in combination with the mental illness of Bipolar II Disorder and PTSD are all factors and triggers. • I was frustrated and unhappy that another episode was triggered. However, I’m not feeling guilt or self-recrimination. Why? Because I DID do some things to mitigate it and to keep it from spiraling. • I tracked. I stayed cognizant and aware. I “journaled.” I started writing this out while in the midst of the binge. When the food in front of me was gone, I stayed seated and didn’t go order more food and spend what little money I had, on more food. I told someone what was happening and what I did. I gave myself permission to rest and slept, instead of staying up and haunting the kitchen. • This morning I got up and went for my two mile walk and have plans to walk more later. So, I haven’t given up. One of the places I’m walking to later is a WW Workshop. So, I’m staying true to my commitment.
