Måste ju visa er denna tjejen som gjorde det i maj! Här har vi en klient som kom något omotiverad i vintras ”jag tränar inte för att det är kul, jag tränar för att jag måste”. Då får vi hitta träningsglädjen i något tänkte jag och det verkar som löpningen inte blev den tråkigaste delen iallafall. Promenader blev springturer. Vi blandade korta och intensiva intervaller med längre distanser och vi började mumla om Göteborgsvarvet och när den pucken hade smält så var anmälan ett faktum. Det viktiga här var inte tiden utan målet som motiverade. Att ta sig runt. Det viktiga här var att försöka ha lite kul och kanske få blodad tand på köpet. Gött med en skvätt träningsglädje. Vi körde också styrka och hon la om sin kost. Hon ogillar mig passet igenom och sen gillar hon mig igen. Vi tränade med ett mål i sikte och det va roligt att följa hennes drivkraft, vilja och inställning att ta sig an uppgiften med rätt attityd. När ungarna hade simning så sprang hon istället för att sitta och vänta. Ni fattar. Motivation. Blodad? Midnattsloppet nästa! 𝗪𝐇𝐘 𝐃𝐎 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄 𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐏 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐆𝐎𝐀𝐋𝐒?🤷🏻‍♂️⁣ ⁣ How many times have you heard a friend say they are starting a diet on Monday and two weeks later they have given up. ⁣ ⁣ Why is this? ⁣ ⁣ Well here’s what happens....⁣ ⁣ ❌The goal set is unrealistic and the client tries to sprint before they can even walk. They demand a six pack in 6 weeks, even though they’ve never had one and to be honest don’t really need one as their probably better off improving their terrible posture to start with anyway! ⁣ ⁣ ❌They are way too strict and remove ALL the foods they enjoy, rather than just reducing the amount. Soon they’ll find themselves smashing through 2 packets of chocolate digestives because their cravings go through the roof! Nothing wrong with a good digestive by the way😜.⁣ ⁣ ❌There is zero structure in their plan and no thought process goes into ensuring the plan accommodates their busy lifestyle. As a result they feel overwhelmed by everything and eventually just give up.⁣ ⁣ ❌There is no patience and they expect to be a overnight success. I can tell you something for free...rewarding things in life are most definitely worth waiting for!⁣ ⁣ ❌𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘! I highlighted this one because it’s important. If you are not consistent or passionate about something you will never make a change. HOW CLOSE TO THE WALL CAN YOU GET WITHOUT TOUCHING IT?😏 - Starting simple. Working on very basic mobility work to improve this amazing woman’s (mother’s) overhead squat😍🤩🏋🏻‍♀️ - We did 3 sets of 10 repetitions in this session. It good to do this 3x a week. It takes 5mins or less!⏱😜 - Using a wall is brilliant technique for those of you who struggle to keep your torso up which is normally an indicator of tight hip flexors which can lead to switched off booty muscles and consequently lower back pain⛔️🍑💥. - It also improves shoulder mobility drastically🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏼‍♀️ - The aim of this drill is to eventually over time be virtually 1cm a way from the wall and still have no physical contact. - It’s a great idea to get some pictures/videos of the first you do this compared to 4 weeks time📹, would love to see some results! The answer to all of these questions is that it’s up to YOU🥳 Instagram can paint a very black and white image of fitness, but how you decide to go about it is down to what you enjoy, what you can stick to and mainly what best suits your goals Personally, I don’t weigh myself or track my steps but I do track macros because I’ve found that’s what works for me and is most in line with my goals Just make sure whatever you’re doing is because YOU want to, and not because it’s what an Instagram account has told you or what you think society expects.

Time to get up from your desk and stretch! While you’re away from the desk, try these stretches before you sit back down. They are very simple and only requires a doorway. I find these stretches very effective because not only does it feel amazing but it also opens your flexed desk posture in all three planes of motion: Sagittal, Frontal, and Transverse plane. I not only use these stretches for posture but also as an introduction to teach clients the planes of motion that your body moves through. The stretches create the feedback and awareness to understand your own body better when we want you to move and target specific movements. These stretches will not be a cure all, but it will help you understand areas you need to improve and strengthen. It will help you lengthen your trunk and definitely put you in a more optimal position to engage and activate better postural muscles. We want to create that space and feedback, then facilitate it with other exercises so you can maintain that upright position. DOOR PECTORALIS STRETCH (Sagittal) Place arms on door jams like a goal post. Put one foot through the door. Chin tuck and keep upper traps / shoulder relaxed Gently lean weight into the front leg You should feel a stretch along the anterior chest region Hold for 10 seconds and do about 5-8 reps DOOR LATISSIMUS / QUADRATUS LUMBORUM STRETCH (Frontal / Coronal) Go to side of door and place foot at door jam. Place other leg behind that leg Reach arm overhead, and place other hand along the lower ribs While holding on doorjam with upper hand, shift your weight to the side While in that that sidebend position, use other hand to push and drive into the ribs, to get an extra QL stretch Hold for 10 seconds and do about 5-8 reps DOOR LATISSIMUS STRETCH WITH ROTATION (Transverse) Reach overhead and hold onto doorjam. Squat down into a seated position until a nice stretch is felt Then with the other hand, thread and reach through. That rotated reach will give an extra stretch through the thoracic spine. Hold for 10 seconds and do about 5-8 reps Give these a try and TAG A COWORKER OR FRIEND!! They will thank you later for sure!! #physicaltherapy #officelife

And doing everything she does? - Well, Firstly our bodies our all completely different, Your metabolism can play a big part in this. - Secondly you might be putting in 50% effort and the person your comparing yourself too is more 80/90% effort, so naturally they’re going to get to there goals slightly faster than you. - And lastly lifestyle is a HUGE factor, when trying to reach a goal.. Alcohol levels, Daily calories, Your level of Training will all come into it, as the saying goes.. ‘You only get out what you put in’ 👏👏
