What do we mean by specific warm up! It really depends on which phase of your fitness journey you are. There is many things to be considered when it comes to a proper warm up routine: - ⚔️. Knowing your Strengths and Weaknesses. Being assessed by a fitness professional can be beneficial to get a direction here. - ⚔️. Getting to know your genetics. I’m predominantly slow twitch muscle person. This means that in order to get my explosive juices flowing I need to do some good portion of plyometrics prior lifting session. - ⚔️. Fitness goals!! Here you can start with the “deep” Why do you want to exercise in the first place. If your long term goals are just being healthy then your warm routine should be general and on dayli bases. If sport specific then it has to serve the sports needs. - 🏋️‍♂️. Here is a routine that I use prior my deadlift session. Based on, what I’ve learned over time, is my biggest struggle to incorporate in compound lifts. 1. Oblique Opener- Thanks to @strongfit1 seminar one of the best exercise to get my deep abdominal muscle working. Also working on nasal breathing and getting my diaphragm in it. 2. Staggered Stance #kettlebell Chop Swing. Excellent balance and core drills. 3. DB Dimmel Deadlift- Partial Deadlift drill similar to the RDL. The idea is to use your obliques and hamstring while moving up and down. Lower back should not be affected at all. 4. Sumo Deficit KB Deadlift- great hip opener and leg drive drill. 5. Gorilla Row- Make sure hips and legs are active here. It’s a total body movement with emphasis on the back muscles . 6. Jefferson Curl- one of the best spinal flexion drill. Be extra careful here. The core should be on the whole time as a protection to the spine. If done proper the benefits are huge from strength and mobility gains. When it’s 8pm and you have already hit your macros for the day, but you crave that extra snack before bed? Practice using grit to get past that craving, and grab a glass of water instead. How about when your friends invite you out after work one night, but you’ve already decided not to drink this week? It takes grit to stay the course and keep to your plan.⁣ ⁣ ❓Where can you apply grit in your life? Is it to push through that busy time at work?
