Do you use bands to warm up before your workout? If so, we’ve got a great movement to incorporate before any upper body workout to improve your flexibility. As you're going through the repetition, make sure to keep tension in the band. A lighter band such as our orange (5-15 lbs) or red (15-35 lbs) work really well for upper body warm ups!

I used resistance bands for some activation exercises to start off and sliding plates. Two hour gym session done 🏋️‍♀️💪🏻😅 started on the cardio machines for fifty minutes and then moved on to strength training with weights and then to finish I did a resistance workout for my legs and butt 👌🏻 to say I’m exhausted is an understatement hahaha but I did have my @sup_supplements fit multi before hand so I think that help me push through. 😳 I’m wearing SHORTS 😳 I honestly think this is the FIRST TIME I’ve worn these shorts to the gym. I think 🤔 I bought these for walking 🚶‍♀️ & running 🏃‍♀️ outside and general at home exercise, not the gym. I’m not sure what pushed me to wear these...probably the reality of not having any leggings clean that I enjoy wearing on leg 🦵 day. I’m not completely comfortable in them, but as my legs shape up, it will get better. I loved my workout 🏋️‍♀️ tonight. I almost didn’t go. But, I put my workout clothes on, sat on the couch 🛋 for a bit, then FINALLY got up & went. I feel like my rest time between sets has gotten shorter, which I’m told is good (?). I am really 💥 powering through my exercises & becoming less and less afraid of going up in weight. I was able to do 50lbs for hip thrusts, 90lbs (which is really like 226lbs adding in the base of the machine) on leg 🦵 press & pushed through to do more squats than I thought I could during burnout sets. Any who, it was a good evening. I took a nap 😴 before this, so I’ll probably be up a little late, but it was worth it to make it to the gym. How was your day???

CRAB 🦀 Who trains with resistance bands? We use them a lot for our winter season training but they’re also proving really beneficial in our running training....feeling the burn to say the least 🔥 Crab walks can be an excellent way to strengthen the glutes, keeping  the knees externally rotated works the glute maximus, whilst stepping outwards (abduction) works the gluteus medius. Once you master a normal dip, use a band to create resistance pulling you down towards the ground forcing you to push up against the resistance and gravity of the band. 90 Day Badass Body~ Tuesday was rushed to get through the workout and I didn’t get to video any of it bc it was beach volleyball day! Wednesday I somehow pinched a nerve in my neck and my chiropractor banned me from doing any workouts, even though we were at the courts I still did some passing 🏐. I’m not very good at sitting still 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 W5D3: this was not my assigned routine. I had to create my own bc I’m still not really supposed to do anything with arms/shoulders/neck area. Move the knees together to one side and then to the other. Add head turning to the opposite direction of knees. There is a lot of discussion about the right shoulder movement, the right socket angle, the right capsule rehab, etc. There is a lot of kinesiopathologizing going on! Did you hear my podcast talk with @laurelbeversdorf ? She covers that subject thoroughly there, and so does @trinaaltman in my talk with her. These two amazing movement educators are helping so much reframing movement into doing more instead of less). . How can we get really creative and contribute to people moving more, instead of less, in more ways, instead of less ways, with more variety, instead of less? And how can we expand the conversation about movement instead of shrink it? . One angle is to see the body as a BioFlow, another is Biotensegrity, and then one more angle is Neuroplasticity. I talk a lot about these three concepts with my clients and in my classes. FIRST THINGS FIRST..... still quite a bit of things we need to address to perfect her squat... NEVERTHELESS.... WE ARE FINALLY SQUATTING WITH A BARBELL ON OUR BACK!!! _ You guys have seen my client Marine (@marinezadourian) training with me on my stories for about a year and a half now. Our first several months together, was very focused on transforming her body quickly for her to be able to wear a dress she desired for her sisters wedding... truth of the matter... all this takes is a bunch of ass kicking sessions and a solidified diet. That’s pretty easy. _ MOVEMENT & STABILITY, however, is something that will elongate your “shelf life” as a trainee. Your ability to perform an exercise CORRECTLY while incorporating certain cues in order to do it efficiently, will make all the difference of your goals (regardless of what they are) in the LONG TERM. _ In the beginning, Marine couldn’t even bodyweight squat without folding or losing balance etc. After having focused on movement for the quite some time and also incorporating a lot of variation of certain exercises (ie: goblet squat, landmine squat) and progressing in those... we are finally here performing a full fledged squat. _ My point here is... this “game” takes time. Some adapt faster than others. However these things MUST be addressed at some point if you plan on being healthy and elongating your fitness lifestyle. Better to have addressed it earlier than when it’s “too late”.
