Beware the line of force! Lat Pulldown is often done wrong. Look at the line of force. Lean away and focus on pulling with the cable in a straight line for optimal muscle recruitment. There a many different ways to train your lat, and you should. I was waken up by a stupid phone call at 4:50am😡I don't take my phone into bedroom so didn't take it, but still😩With a cup of weak coffee and a bit Himalayan crystal salt coarse under my tongue I was able to power through a 40 min strength workout. My energy level and mood have picked up gradually as my muscles got warm and my heart rate climbed up. Nothing too strenuous but I was sweaty 😅Gosh I almost forgot how good I felt after a sweaty workout! I think I look tighter, or perhaps it's just my wishful thinking 😅 Anyway I started my #carnivore day6 on a fairly positive note and I'm gonna try to eat more today to see if my energy level stays stable throughout the day. #workout #workouts #morningvibes #morningroutine #morningmotivation #morningworkout #strengthtraining #resistancetraining #strengthworkout #workoutroutine #fitness #fitnessjourney

@brookesnehotta back at it again demonstrating how to use another one our #powerlife multi machines 🙌⠀ ⠀ This time our hip abductor/adductor machine 🍑⠀ ⠀ To target your ABDUCTORS (outer muscles of hips & glutes):⠀ 👉 Position the pads facing inwards ⠀ 👉 Position your legs inside the pads with your knees sitting snug against them⠀ 👉 Lean forward slightly keeping your chest up & push the pads away with your knees squeezing at the top and controlling the movement back ⠀ ⠀ To target your ADDUCTORS (inner muscles of your thighs) ⠀ 👉 Position the pads facing out⠀ 👉 Position your legs outside the pads with your knees snug against them⠀ 👉 Pull the red lever & stretch out as far as comfortable then release so it can lock into place⠀ 👉 Squeeze the pads together with your knees holding the contraction for a pause then controlling on the way back allowing for a nice stretch⠀ ⠀ Both are great exercises to incorporate into your leg routine 💪 #legday #bootybootybooty #resistancetraining #weights #gym #fitfam #adrenalingym

SOMETIMES THE ONLY WAY FORWARD IS BACKWARDS 🔙🔛🔝🔜 🌈 After hurting my ribs earlier in the year (repetitively!) I had to lay off pull ups for a long time. I'd finally got myself up to 8 in a row with a goal of 10 by the end of 2018 when I hurt myself and had to stop training them altogether. 🌈 I came back to them recently and could get 2 or 3 on a good day, but I noticed that my left shoulder was still not moving the same way as my right. As I think that's one of the things that caused my injury, I've dropped the pull ups again to focus on my scapular mobility. It's frustrating, but not as frustrating as re-injuring myself would be. 10 pull-ups can always be my goal again next year 😘 🌈 These scapular pulls are much harder and more tiring than they look! I'm working hard here to move each scapula equally and to really learn how to use my lats on both sides. 🌈 Give them a go and let me know how they feel for you!

Editing or clipping, snipping or whatever it’s called is not my strong point. Leg day finishers are however my speciality. So I mentioned the word NEAT in one of my stories yesterday and said I’d explain so here goes... - Your total daily energy expenditure or TDEE comes from a number of places. - Your BMR is where the majority of energy is used. Basil Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy used to simply be alive literally lying on a bed all day. - Next is your NEAT which if you’re a fairly active person, should be your next biggest expenditure of energy. NEAT is non-exercise activity thermogenesis. So it’s energy used being active throughout the day but not actually exercising. This is the one we should be consciously trying to increase, especially if fat loss is the goal. Walking the dog, taking stairs instead of the lift, parking further away from your place of work. Be as active as you can throughout the day, make an effort to track your activity levels. This will give you the edge when trying to burn fat! - The next biggest expenditure is TEF! The Thermic Effect of Food. Basically how much energy we use to process the food we eat. - Last of all, which may be a surprise to some of you, is EAT or Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. This ones simple, the amount of energy used when doing exercise. - So if fat loss is your goal and you’re desperately searching for ways to speed it up... MOVE!
