Sometimes you gotta get a little jiggy with the props and backdrops in food photography. Granola with yogurt and fresh figs. 🥣💙🙏🏻 #cerealporn

T'up North for the day job, but very happy to find @altymarket round the corner from hotel. And couldn't resist a Calabrian sausage pizza from @honestcrustsourdoughpizza swilled down with a pint or two from @blackjackbeers . . . #foodphoto #foodie #foodphotography #restaurantphotography #pizza #sourdough #bristolfoodieontour #instafood

Gorgeous... #repost @francescosapienza ・・・ I love capturing moments, it’s so much fun! In order to shoot this image, I had to extend my arms over the bar counter to obtain the composition I was looking for. I never could have framed the shot this way had I had to rely on the traditional viewfinder, I was just too far away from the subject. . This is one of the reasons why I almost only shoot with my mirrorless Sony nowadays and my Nikon has been relegated to being the backup camera. The other reason is weight/size, so much less to carry around and so much easier to maneuver when shooting in very small places, such as restaurant kitchens. . Talking about camera displays, I find it a lot more comfortable and fun framing a shot by only using the display in the back instead of the viewfinder. I dont know why, but it’s almost like I can see the overall image and composition more clearly without getting lost in the details. I remember reading about painters who would paint their subjects by looking at their reflection in a mirror rather than looking straight at them. How do you normally frame your shots? Through the camera display or the viewfinder? #foodphotography #restaurantphotography #coffee #newyork
