I decided in Oct 2018 to make a change. I knew, for me, much happiness was found in the gym and I had strayed from the dedication I once had. With the help of my kick-ass wife @ewhite1010 and @rpstrength nutrition I'm in the best shape I've been in in over 10 years. I've dropped a shit ton of body fat (50lbs) and have really been gaining serious strength and conditioning again. The journey is far from over. Call me crazy but getting serious about lifting and training has done so much more for my life out of the gym. Many things may seem unrelated but they all truly tie together. My marriage is steam rolling as we love training together and find joy in watching each other kill it in the gym and in competition. I've had wonderful career opportunities open up and truly enjoy the traveling with my family that I'm so fortunate to be able to do. Feeling good about yourself and your health truly makes you a better husband, father, and companion. Now vs➡️ 2015. It took me over 4 years to learn how to do this right. At some points I was lifting weights so heavy my legs were pretty much nonfunctional bricks. At other points I was cutting carbs so much that I was losing the muscle I worked so hard for. It took me 4 years to learn that you can be athletic, but not lean - or - lean, but not athletic. I indulged in too much Halloween candy last night...but you know what? It was so worth it! I had some Twix, some Snickers and maybe some Butterfingers 😱 No regrets though....I’m on maintenance until after the holidays so a treat every now and then won’t kill me.
