So nice to be back in the quieter streets of rural South East Asia. A nice break before finishing off in Siem Reap. The running here is simply fantastic and is made all that better via the support and encouragement along the way by the locals. #takemebacktuesday... To sunshine ☀️ and my 1st race 🏃‍♀️of 2019 (in the US...I was fortunate enough to get in a @parkrunau while visiting family in Australia!). I had so much fun running the @abetterworldrunning series this weekend. Taking time to recover after the @venturamarathon and then taking time to travel 🌎✈️🌏kept me away from this series that I love so much (these 📷are FREE and from the race!). It felt great to be back and to get to catch up with old running friends while getting inspired by others who were there completing their first ever or first 5K, 10K, 15K or half marathon that day (the series happens most weekends and offers all these distances and a great community feel). Do you have a favorite race series near you? I'd love to hear about it! Here at Fit Armadillo it's the year of running! RED January day # 15 - Done ✅ • Run with the guys and gals of @sunnysquadrunningclub for my day 15 @redjanuaryuk challenge. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ • Half way through the RED January challenge now, I am someone who does normally have 1-2 rest days a week, so doing something every SINGLE day I am starting to feel it, but I am actually still enjoying it. Saying that - it certainly helps having the squad running with me. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ • Life sometimes gets a bit overwhelming doesn’t it. Today I felt a big sense of that, and was feeling quite low before our run. Thanks to the gang for as always making me smile. Love you lot 😍🙏🏼 Adulting is hard! They do not teach that at schools! And they really should. 🤔 • It’s ok not to always be ok. But like I did tonight, talk to someone. Tell them you are struggling. Such a wonderful experience this morning @campbellclinicortho for my knee pain. The prognosis is IT band tendonitis. So the doctor called in an anti inflammatory, is sending me to PT and I can still run!!! He said PT may want to do some dry needling😬😳 If all of that doesn’t work, a cortisone shot will be the last resort. If the shot is necessary, he’s going to work around my race schedule!! This is about as perfect of an “injury” for an athlete to get.
